Sarah marinated some delicious meats and I grilled some skewers. We also made some s'mores. L.L. Stubbs is one of the cleanest and nicest state parks I've ever been to. Gorgeous views from the cabin, plenty of hiking, and a day use area that has a dog park and picnic tables if you're not camping here. It's also quite affordable. Highly recommend. Thankful for these moments.

This a fantastic campground, we go camping here very often between travels to other places that are…read morefurther away or when we just want to get away, it is super close, sites are large to have room for not just the RV but also enough for my brother in-law to stay with his tent. We have found our favorite spots (I will not disclose as OR state parks reservations are very competitive so I need to keep them secret). The sites are clean the public restrooms and showers are in great shape (as with most OR state Parks). The full hookups are well placed for trailers too. The camps hosts as always are always great in the OR state parks. It is very forested in the west loop; the east loop is more open but also very nice. Tent campers have plenty of places in both locations too. There is also a loop of cabins that are really nice (have a reservation soon to check them out). They have a horse only camp up higher which is very cool if you have horses you want to bring so you can hit the trails with your ponies. There is lots of bike trials for mountain bikers and hikers and the wonderful Banks Vernonia paved trail which is always a great ride. I believe there is also a Disc golf area too which seems to be common with OR state parks to have. The cellular service for Verizon and AT&T is strong enough to allow us to work and stream movies while here. This makes it a great place to remote work if you can. Almost every trip we see deer roaming around the sites which is just amazing. They are calm and use to humans, but please do not feed them let them live and roam in peace . You can stay here year-round, they can get snow so be prepared. If you want, you can take a quick trip to Vernonia or Banks for a meal or if you crave a coffee drink or maybe groceries.

What a lovely and new-looking playground! The ground is colorful turf and soft for hard landings. It has a parking lot close by as well as beautiful and easy walking trails through Jenkins Estste. Truly a gem!

A bit chilly but once someone found out how to turn off the overhead fan, it leveled out. Seemed like a nice place complete with a kitchen and large ceilings that truly made it feel like a festive space. Restrooms were clean also. I would consider having some sort of family or friend event here.

Given that I live in this area, I often run through this area. It's a great, kid-friendly park with…read morenice terrain for running, as there are a good number of decent-sized hills. As far as I can tell, the play structures seem quite well maintained. I even think a few new structures were put in fairly recently. There's a cute little community garden that went up a number of years ago, and there are occasionally events here during the summer. If you're coming here from outside the neighborhoods bordering the park area, you'll need to park street side, as there isn't any dedicated parking for this small park.

If you're there on the weekend, park across the street at Lenox Elementary. Depending on the season, there may be little black bugs that stick to every surface known to man! If you're there when the sun sets, the mosquitos will bite your ass. Literally. My butt had a butt. You're lucky if you are assigned games on field #2. Field #4 is a stretttcccchhh.

They have a nice trail you can take through beautiful large trees. The second half of the trail is more in brush and dessert type of feel, but still beautiful nonetheless. They also have little workout stops you can do along the way which we enjoyed playing around with haha. The also have disc golf, too, which we even saw a couple people playing so that was pretty cool to see. The only thing I will say is the trail does take you one weird way and it's near a homeless encampment so just beware that. But you can always walk a different way. Also at one point you are next to a road which kind of loses the sense of being in the park and in nature away from streets, but honestly, it's not for too long. Absolutely beautiful trail! And super easy. They allow dogs, too, which I love! Highly recommend checking it out.

The cobwebs in the bathrooms are totally in tune with the spirit of Halloween But it's a public park bathroom, the toilets were clean. That's what matters. The playground had lots of families. Very happy we stopped by!
