FLRV opened in the last couple years and is a great addition to the camping options around the Finger Lakes. Located about 1/3 of the way up the eastern side of Seneca Lake, the location provides easy access to the wineries, distilleries, and breweries along the lake.This is a family owned campground and the owners were very friendly and took pride in their business. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are included at check-in.  The campground sites are very large and spread out. Being a newer campground, the trees are small, but that did not take away from the experience. Easy maneuverability, great wifi and water pressure, along with level sites make it a great place to stay. The bath house is emmaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort. Amenities are minimal (no pool, playground, or golf carts), but they are bookended by two wineries with walking paths from the campground. Due to the minimal amenities, it is very quiet and relaxing especially in the evenings sitting around the campfire.  I look forward to returning to the Finger Lakes RV park as this is easily one of our top campgrounds when needing to relax.

The grounds are immaculate, the owners are genuinely friendly, and it's obvious they take tremendous pride in maintaining the property. Everything is spotless, the sites are level and well-appointed, and the utility hookups are thoughtfully placed and easy to use. Since our last visit two years ago, they've added a fitness center and community room, both of which are great improvements. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country and within walking distance of two wineries. It's hard to beat. So why four stars instead of five? The reservation system. When you book, you don't actually reserve a specific site, you reserve a site type. If you want to guarantee the site you've been shown or assigned, you have to pay an additional "site lock" fee. Unfortunately, I didn't realize just how much that mattered. We booked our stay in May for a July visit. For the next two months, every confirmation and piece of correspondence from the resort indicated we would be in Site 61. Naturally, we assumed that was our site. We arrived for the 2:00 p.m. check-in at 2:01, right behind another RV. To my surprise, they were given Site 61, and we were reassigned at the last second. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care. A campsite is a campsite...unless the replacement site happens to be directly beside the dog park. My wife and I are simply not dog people. We don't dislike responsible pet owners, but we prefer not to spend our vacation listening to constant barking. Instead, we were serenaded by barking throughout the day, barked at whenever we sat outside our RV, and awakened around 7:00 a.m. on most mornings by dogs in the park next door. To the owners' credit, they did offer to move us after two days when another site became available. I genuinely appreciate that. But anyone who RVs knows that once you've spent the time leveling, setting up, connecting utilities, arranging the patio, and getting settled, the last thing you want to do is tear everything down just to move across the campground. The whole experience felt a lot like flying these days: if you don't pay extra to choose your seat, you'll somehow end up in the middle seat, at the back of the plane, next to the bathroom. Technically you still got what you paid for, but not exactly the vacation experience you were expecting. Going forward, I'll gladly pay the site lock fee because now I know how the system works. But I also think the campground could do a better job making it crystal clear that the site shown in your confirmations is not actually your reserved site unless you've paid to lock it in. That would save guests from the confusion and disappointment we experienced. Despite this issue, this remains one of the nicest RV resorts we've visited, and we'll absolutely be back.

I just don't like being in a sleeping bag on the ground, not having a bathroom, and well camping. I was recently invited to go glamping. Glamping is an elevated camping experience - think glamorous camping. I was intrigued to say the least and decided to head on out to Firelight Camps in Ithaca, NY to try it out. I actually did sleep in a tent as you can see. Although it was the inside of the tent that elevated my experience. While it was a real tent I had a wooden floor and a real bed! The bed was so comfortable too. I didn't want to get up in the morning. I loved hearing the sounds of nature outside. There was no electricity, but there were lanterns you could use in the tent. The lanterns even had a USB plug in to charge your phone. The campgrounds were beautiful! There was a fire pit and larger tent to eat meals in. They also had bathrooms to shower in. They weren't in the tents, but just a short walk from them. We had a fabulous time chatting and just hanging out in the common area. Of course what camping experience is complete with out s'mores? When the fire pit was lit the s'mores came out. These were an elevated experience as well. They were the most delicious s'mores I've ever tasted - homemade marshmallows and graham crackers!

Major electrical issues! We paid over $50 pd for 30amp, water and sewer. During the day our power…read morewas lowered to an unsafe voltage, which tripped our surge protector. We tried two different surge protectors. After addressing the owners, they refused to move us to a better site or refund any money. After two days of this we noticed an issue with our Victron inverter, the power issue cause our Victron to blow a fuse. Low voltage is just as dangerous as high voltage for your camper. After putting up with it for three days we left without a refund. Would never recommend this place

They…read morehave truly thought of everything, from lights around the walkways, to cute activities for the kids, s'mores kits, and breakfast boxes. They added extra fire pits so you can go to the community fire place or have your own private time. Everything was perfectly clean, much better than many hotels I have stayed in. The bath house had lots of amenities. Two of the tents have electricity for fans and lamps. Every tent has a battery charger for your phones. It was so wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds. We will have to come back when the sauna is finalized! Thank you for a wonderful time.

When you arrive there is a central place to park your car. There is a wagon to transport your items…read moreto your tent but the walk is not that long. The check in spot has a note with the owners phone to call. They show you the amenities and to your tent. The lounge has tables to eat and exchange your lanterns. I did not use the lantern to charge my phone I brought a battery pack. They have umbrellas and rain boots you can use if you need to. The breakfast had coffee. Tea, and a tea kettle if you need boiling water for oatmeal. I ate a crescent roll and jelly for breakfast and a yogurt with granola. The lounge also had fliers for attractions near by. The bathroom was clean and nice. It was a but of a walk if you stay in Aspen, but you also have privacy. The campfire was lit every night but you did have to share with the other glampers but everyone was very nice. The pond is newly constructed but will look nice once it is all settled. I ate out but there were two grills available for use in the cooking area. We also took their wine tour. It was $100 per person but I would say worth it and very convenient! Christine is very knowledgable about wine. The price included stops to 5 wine tastings at different places. One stop served lunch, lunch was at your own cost. After the tour we had a back in the tent before heading out again. The inside of the tipi was very cute and I would stay again.

It was 1 mile each way (from the parking lot to near the base of the falls). The trail was relatively flat and shaded for parts of it (but not all). There were a few benches along the way to take breaks, and water at the beginning of the trail to fill up your water bottle. It costs $10/car to get into the state park but you can use that ticket to get into other state parks on the same day without paying again, which would be great to visit nearby Buttermilk Falls and other parks.

The highlight of the park - and its namesake - is Taughannock Falls, a 215-foot plunge waterfall. That's what we were there to see, but let me explain more about the park. The park crosses Taughannock Boulevard. On one side of the road, is the park of the park with lots of amenities: the marina, boat launches, a beach, a concession stand, bathrooms, a playground, and more. We were there on the morning of the Fourth of July, so lots of families were setting up for a fun day for the holiday: picnics, beach, boat day, etc. On the other side of Taughannock Boulevard is the waterfall and several trails. There is one parking lot by the trails, which was already full when arrived around 9am on Saturday, which was the Fourth of July, but we parked near the entrance on the other side of the park and walked over to the trail. There is signage requiring cars on Taughannock Boulevard to stop for pedestrians; it felt safe to cross. We took a little walk around the side of the park with the amenities, but we were there for the falls. We walked along the Gorge Trail - a .95 mile trail that is very flat. While not paved, it was a flat, wide dirt path, making it much more of a walk than a hike. Compared to other parks with falls in the area, it really doesn't feel like you're *in* a gorge, but you do walk along Taughannock Creek. But it's not quite as beautiful of a trail as some others in the area. But we were for the waterfall, which is incredible. It's worth a sweaty walk (it was a hot, hot day) to get to. We took a million pictures, watched the hawks flying over the falls, and took in the falls for as long as we could before heading back along the Gorge Trail. (Unlike other parks nearby, the Gorge Trail doesn't connect to the other trails, so you have to return on the same trail.) It might not be my favorite of the state parks we visited during our time in the Finger Lakes, but the waterfall is stunning and well worth a visit. It's also a great option for anyone who wants to visit a waterfall but isn't up for a more challenging hike, as the Gorge Trail is extremely flat and easy!

The…read moregorge trail and rim trail loop offers beautiful views of the Enfield Glen gorge and waterfalls, especially with the fall foliage. It's moderate difficulty. There is a swim area by the bottom parking area. Both times I've visited this park it was closed due to being off season in October. $10 per car. You can use the receipt to enter any NY state park on the same day.

Robert H. Treman State Park was the last of the state parks in the Finger Lakes we visited a week…read moreor so when we spent the Fourth of July in the area, and it was a great way to say goodbye to the region. The park encompasses both sides of Enfield Creek and has several options to enjoy. At one end of the park is the Upper Park Entrance. This entrance has the Old Mill and access to all three hiking trails and is closer to the Lucifer Falls. (If you want to see Lucifer Falls without a hike, park at the Upper Entrance and you're not too far from Lucifer Halls - an easy flat walk to it, really.) The other end of the park is the Lower Park Entrance. It has camping areas (well used over the Fourth of July weekend when we visited - we saw tons of families enjoying the holiday weekend here), access to the Gorge Trail and Rim Trail, the Lower Falls (a waterfall with a swimming hole at the base - the swimming pool even has a diving board!), and everything else you need for a day of swimming and exploring (bathrooms with showers, picnic pavilions, etc.). We parked at the Lower Park Entrance (the lot was almost empty around 9am on a Sunday morning - even though it was a holiday weekend) and started off on the Gorge Trail, which is a 2.12 mile hike along Enfield Creek. This was probably the hardest hike we did at any of the state parks we visited over this holiday weekend (Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, and Taughannock Falls). It was steep. I also didn't think it had the best views for the first mile - you're not quite as close to the water or *in* the gorge as you are on some of the other Gorge Trails. But once we got down to the creek, the views were beautiful (a few small falls), and it wasn't as crowded as the other trails either. (FYI: it was buggy and humid and hot, so if the weather is hot, definitely start early.) I had read on AllTrails that the hike up to Lucifer Falls was tough, so I was a little worried. But actually I didn't find it the hardest part of the hike at all. And Lucifer Falls was absolutely the highlight of the hike and the park for us. It's a 115-foot waterfall and it sort of winds and meanders in this incredible way - different from the other falls we saw on our Finger Lakes hikes. If you're visiting the park, do not miss Lucifer Falls. We returned to the Lower Entrance on the Rim Trail, which wasn't as beautiful as the Gorge Trail, but ended up being a treat, too, for a surprising reason. The Rim Trail didn't take us back to where we had parked our car. It does take you near to the Lower Entrance, but on the South side of the Creek. So when you finish the trail, there's a sign telling you how to get back to the Lower Entrance Parking, and that way back happens to take you past the Lower Falls. So we got to see the Lower Falls - tons of people swimming and diving (with plenty of lifeguards, too). We now know to save some time for a swim at the base of the Lower Falls the next time we visit this park! There are a lot of great parks, hikes, and trails in the Finger Lakes, but I really enjoyed our visit to Robert H. Treman State Park. Lucifer Falls is special, and the park was a great way to get some exercise and get some amazing waterfall shots, too.

After that we had to rush through the most popular sites due to the number of groups coming through. All that said this is an AMAZING hike. The guide at the South entrance very helpfully sketched out the best ways to see the popular sites based on how far we wanted to walk. This is doable for littler kids if you walk slowly. $10 for parking is a bargain.

Yes they may not be epic cascading falls with millions of gallons of water, but Watkins Glen is an epic place to visit. There is a bit of construction going on for the summer 26 season so do a little research for best places to park or what trails may be impacted. It does absolutely nothing to lower the charm of this park though. If you are in the area and bypass this you have truly missed one of the state's gems!

Came here this past fall with our martial arts club (during pandemic time). We ended up exploring…read morethe pine-scented maze, playing with the maze dog (so friendly), and doing the rope climb! So many interesting tire swings (one had a saddle), smokestacks, little classrooms and such. We pretty spent all day here, and the donation is pay-what-you like! Some of our group did paddleboats. Such a lovely place.
