Campground with a lot of private wooded lots - electric and water only. We have a 34 foot motorhome, and didn't have a problem, but it may be for the bigger rigs. You must use the directions on the website - the GPS will lead you on a VERY hilly road that will be a problem with your camper. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's deceiving but this is a big place. It has a small pond that you can go swimming, canoeing and paddleboating. The one strange thing is that this is bear country, but yet they have regular trash cans at each site. They are not bear proof. We didn't see the trash cans knocked over, but there are many reviews to the contrary. They should consider the safety of their guests. We did see a bear ambling across the woods when we first got there, but that was it. The campground borders on the Lakota Wolf Preserve - a wonderful place to visit while there. I don't even know if I can fully express my delight with Camp Taylor. This is multi generational family run camp, and the passion the Taylor's have for their facility and for making their guests experience a positive one is evident in everything they do. From the courteous check in, to answering any questions you have even if related to "technical difficulties " their goal is clear: they want you to be a happy camper! The grounds are spectacular. Level and clean sites, plenty of trees, babbling brooks, fish ponds ( not for fishing, but you can canoe, paddleboat or feed the fish with food you can get in the store), playgrounds, an arcade, a cute little store, little cabins you can rent, and seasonal sites if you're so inclined. Its just a beautiful place, owned and run by some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I'm looking forward to another visit. I highly recommend Camp Taylor!! read more

We love camping here! The owners and staff are warm and welcoming. The grounds are beautifully maintained and close enough to the wolf preserve that you can hear their glorious songs. When you're at Camp Taylor you feel far away from civilization but you really aren't. You are close enough to everything you could possibly need. I've stayed in trailers there as well as one of their cabins and even their luxury trailers. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The comments about the bear issues make me laugh out loud though. Their website clearly states you may possibly see some bear! And then they remind people at check-in time. What more can they possibly do? I for one enjoy seeing the bears. I never felt threatened by them at all. Let's remember we are in their territory. The woods are their home. We are the guests. Leave nothing behind and take away fabulous memories. I would recommend this campground to couples and families and anyone else looking to get back to nature and just decompress. Don't forget the wolf preserve. Tho there is a separate admission fee, it is definitely worth a visit! read more

We have stayed at Camp Taylor Campground several times. We found the staff and owners to be very friendly, helpful, and informative. We have a 27ft travel trailer and always get a site by the creek. The first time we were there we were new to RV'ing and one of the staff members came to our site and he helped guide us into our spot. The site we stay at in my opinion is reasonably spacious, especially compared to all the other campgrounds we have been to. The campsite is clean and well maintained. The only exception to that is the mini-golf course; it needs some maintenance, but to us that was a trivial issue. They have a large pond you can swim in and have boats you can rent. We did neither of those so far but have seen other people having fun doing those things. We enjoy walking around the campsite and there is a lot to do near by. The Lakota Wolf Preserve is on the campground. If you are camping there you can get a discount to the twice-a-day tour. If you are traveling with an RV follow the directions provided on the campsite web page. So far this is our favorite campsite and I highly recommend it. read more

I have just about camped at every single place possible around NJ and Eastern PA. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had campground in the area. 1 - First they were very rude to me at the front desk when I arrived (30ish female). It was not a good first impression at all and I left there feeling not too great about the place. 2 - Only allow 2 cars to park at campsite (no big deal), but there is no overflow parking 3 - Only allows 4 people per site max (would be nice if more) 4 - Expensive! $12 fee per night per person over 2!! You have to pay for showers on top of that. 5 - The kicker is after we left we received a notice in the mail stating that we did not recycle. So they were charging us $25 and a threat to banned us from the campground if we don't pay. Apparently this banned list is also sent to other campgrounds in the area (who probably just laugh at them for how ridiculous it is we were banned for not recycling). They NEVER mentioned to any us about this and we all arrived separate. While they did provide a trash can at our site there was NO recycle can. If they were so serious about this you would think they would provide an additional recycle can on your site. I mean seriously W T F! The combination of overly rude staff, over the top regulations and the price will never bring me back to this place (not that I could if I wanted hahahahaha). I will be making sure everyone knows about how unfriendly this place is. Dont waste your time here - go to Worthington State Park. read more

This place is wonderful. We've stayed here twice - once on a tent site, and once in one of their cabins. Both sites were exceptionally clean and both included water and electricity. The bathrooms and shower areas are amazingly clean. Showers are $0.25 for 5 minutes. They have a camp store selling the necessities and anything you may have forgotten at home. Also a souvenier shop. Lots of local activities, such as wine tastings, etc. This past weekend, Camp Taylor put on a haunted house in their pavillion. I wasnt expecting much, but it was actually pretty elaborate and well done. When we arrived this weekend, our vehicle died because of a bad battery (later diagnosed). The owner spent about 15 minutes of his time with us trying to jump the truck with his own truck, but to no avail. He then provided us with a list of nearby auto repair shops. The people that run Camp Taylor are probably the most rude and unaccommodating people I've ever dealt with. The owner walks around and yells at people to get off his property if they are talking too loudly or if their dog barks a couple of times. I had tried to buy a bag of ice from them 30 minutes before they were open in the morning. They were both in the office and were avoiding making eye contact with me. When I finally got their attention, the man comes out and aggressively asks if I have a problem. And when I said I just needed to buy a bag of ice before we left for the day, he pointed to the hours and said, we're not open yet and refused to sell me any. It's a shame that the owners are so miserable because the campsite itself is beautiful. I'd strongly recommend going to another campsite if you want an enjoyable camping experience. read more

Legit the worse customer service I have ever experienced. The owner was incredibly aggressive and rude and tried to scare us to get off the property. When I tried to talk to him about my concerns I was met with eye rolling, no eye contact and extreme rudeness. Save your money and go somewhere else. The owners seem highly unstable. read more

One of the workers (elderly man with a white beard) was confrontational and borderline aggressive from the moment we entered the campground property. Despite being diplomatic and reasonable while trying to converse with him over a minor parking issue that was resolved over a matter of seconds, he continued his unprofessional nature towards us as we were making our payments. This included eye-rolling and snarky comments, which should never come from someone in the service industry. He will certainly be losing business over this. read more

On Fourth of July weekend we went to Camp Taylor for the first time. We stayed for 3 nights. It was awesome! :) Pros: -The Lakota Wolf Preserve is at the top of Camp Taylor up a trail that you can hike or be bussed to. They have tours (highly recommended)! You get to see wolves, foxes and bobcats through a fence, up close, and the husband and wife who run it give awesome talks and info about the preserve and the animals! -You check in and check out at 3pm-This was awesome because before we checked out on Sunday we were able to take the morning tour of the Lakota Wolf Preserve, then go back to our campsite and pack up!!! -Wal-Mart is a short ride from the campground and it only costs a $1 toll to cross into PA to go there. -The camp store has everything you need, so if you forget to grab something at Wal-Mart etc, you don't have to drive all the way out there again. -Very neat and clean grounds! -Wooded sites, private sites, etc. -Clean bathrooms, showers, outhouses (always stocked with toilet paper too!) -Friendly workers -Quiet hour is at 11pm and they will come to quiet someone down if they have to, so you can actually enjoy the quiet and try to hear the wolves before you go to sleep! :) -They have a white board that labels upcoming events that campers may want to attend in the area and at the camp. -The lake was refreshing, clean and fun! -Canoeing/rafting on the river nearby! Cons: -You have to buy all firewood at the camp itself. Outside firewood can bring in bugs that they don't want in the forest. It makes sense completely, but I wish I could have gotten bigger bundles for $5 where I live and brought them to camp. The bundles they sell aren't too bad though. -Some sites are really close/in viewing distance of one another. We got really lucky that no one took the site right next to use because it was really really close to us. Conclusion: We really loved camp Taylor and did not mind following the rules at all. It was a really family friendly place and we enjoyed our relaxing and adventurous weekend! We went canoeing, swimming on the lake, went to a festival near-by and saw fireworks, and got to see the wolves and other animals! We will definitely be going again! We were very happy with our experience at Camp Taylor. A young man took our reservation over the phone and he was very friendly and courteous. He even suggested a site, which turned out to be just what we wanted. Check in was friendly and they explained all the necessary rules and regs. We did attend the haunted house, which was better than my daughter thought it would be. The sites are well maintained and you really are in the woods. The bathrooms were very clean as were the showers. There was a $.25 charge for 5 minutes, but if that is what I have to pay for great, clean showers, then I will. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend of 7/11 to 7/13. The place was clean with toilets (porta potties) nearby + nice toilet and shower area at the main entrance. The shop provides all of the necessities. We checked in for the weekend and were greeting warmly and explained all the rules. No problems at "quiet time" while we played a radio on low volume and sat up talking until about midnight. We staying in site 84 which was at the end of a small road, so very private. Nice campground...Was fun and enjoyable except when I reserved a campsite they told me it was a secluded site...so didn't think we would have neighbors so close...Only reason that was a problem because they were listening to music from 9am until 11pm and were so loud up until 1am+ I came to enjoy nature and hear the crickets at night. I went camping with my three little boys, 8, 6 and 4 years old and we had a great time. Since it was a slow time during the week, they let us choose from a bunch of sites. I chose a large site right on the rocky little stream that runs through the campground. They were friendly, let us know about the rules, quiet time, etc. We bought two bundles of wood, five dollars each. The two bundles lasted for a one longer campfire in the evening and one shorter one in the morning. We walked over to the playground. It was a couple baby swings and two diggers. There was a frame for regular swings but the swings were removed. After a few minutes there, we went a little farther to the mini golf. It was very run down and needed some TLC, but I didn't say anything to my kids about my opinion. We went back to the office and got three sets of golf clubs and balls, $1.50 each. My kids played there for almost an hour. My oldest exclaimed "I love this mini golf!", so even though it was really run down, my boys loved it! Next we moved on to the lake. They have a fish food dispenser that dispenses a nice handful for only a nickel. Bring nickels because this was really fun! There are large fish right under the dock that show up and jump around when you feed them. There are little paddleboats for rent, but we didn't do that. On the opposite side of the lake, there is an area roped off for swimming, no lifeguards. It was pretty green looking and it wasn't that hot outside so we opted to skip that and just put on bathing suits and play in the stream on our site. The kids were happy playing there for almost the whole day! Since there were very few people in the campground, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. I was a little worried about how I would shower boys in a women's bathroom and I didn't want to send them in the men's bathroom alone, but they have a family bathroom with shower! There's also a game room with some games and a pool table. There's also the Lakota Wolf Preserve on property, but it's run by completely separate people. All in all, we had a wonderful relaxing time. Lying in a tent, listening to the babble of the stream and the wolves howling was amazing. I'm just worried that now we're spoiled by the silence there since it was so empty! My oldest almost cried when it was time to leave, he loved it so much. read more

We reserved 3 weeks before for a Labor Day weekend. My friend got lots 59-61 . It was very crowded since it was Labor Day weekend, but my goodness the lots were way too close, no privacy. It was like camping with people we didn't know. What was worse, the poor noise control. There was a group (right of the portable john) behind some bushes. They were so noisy, actually nosier between 11 pm - 6 AM ! F - word in every sentence. We plugged our ears, but did not block the noise completely. Top it all off they were having loud sex and they were with their parents ! What kind of household is this. We had young children and teenagers. The older woman will walk by with a dog and say hi, she looked normal to me, but obviously she had no control of her son and his friends. We hesitated complainging since we feared repercussions, they looked a bit shady. Their showers and bathrooms were pretty clean. The small pond was okay. They really need to do something about spacing and noise control. I am so cranky now due to lack of sleep. If we do go back, we will be asking for more private spot, otherwise, forget about it. read more

I went to Camp Taylor twice last year. So far each time was great. Once was for tent site, once was for RV rentals. The site is very nice, the bathroom is clean so is RV. I am surprised by these negative reviews on Yelp, maybe that is why they still have an empty spot in June. I feel like they deserve at least 3 stars. Of course, the swimming area is nothing compared with other camping sites, but they have wolf reserves zoo nearby which is a big plus for the kids. read more

Super cold the nights we were there - to be expected I guess around the time of the year we stayed (Labor Day). Clean toilets and showers. for the toilets, only one of 3 sinks actually worked. There are absolutely no activities in the campground itself. They say they have a swimming lake and a beach - but hard to see how any one would swim in it. The owner's family who runs the campground hides behind I am a stickler for rules to explain their rudeness - and he will point to the fine print on the website. After leaving the campsite after two days of continuous rain - he sends a letter to me explaining how I have left recycling mixed with garbage and needs to pay a fine of $100. He helpfully includes the rules in the letter saying - leaving litter or mixing garbage and recycling can have a fine of $25/- The pictures he sent has recycles in two bags and garbage in 3 bags - I ask him what the problem is with that and he explain the pictures are after the fact (after he cleaned it up). He says that happened with 5 containers... I was like - why are you sending me good pictures - shouldn't you be sending the before pictures? I was also trying to find out why he didn't refund the fee for the children he charged upfront for each night - we left one day ahead - he conveniently forgot to refund that.. but he wouldn't give me a chance - he told me how I need to listen to him and how me and my friends are not welcome to his campground anymore. His letter also threatens in the letter that he will send the information to all other campgrounds. My recommendation is save yourself some trouble and stay off this campground. I asked my friends on whether we should pay the $100/- or not have the ability to go here anymore - the uniform response was - are you kidding me - you have to pay me to go there. read more

The family who owns this place seem mentally unstable, it takes very little to upset these people for examples we returned swim vests later then the time expected(we spent a bit longer at the wolf preserve and when came back we brought the vests over to the office , the owner Clayton got so angry. It was so shocking and caught us so off guard , his equally unstable wife (or whoever that beast is) joined in, and it actually escalated to the point where they told us we were never welcome there again, (like we would EVER go there again) we are good, hard working people with two young children we had expectations for them to experience camping, nature, wildlife, the wolves etc, not be verbally abused. it takes A LOT to upset my husband , he can see the good in most people, for him to be shocked by the owners reaction made me uneasy. These are business owners who obviously have had NO education in the area of customer service Actually it's obvious they don't like people at all.... The main reason for this review is to warn folks. all I could think of, was "wow if they got that upset over a few vests what would happen if there was something that really upset them." I was actually fearful to be out in the middle of nowhere with these loose canons I had to assume they have weapons being that they live in the woods, and I could not get my family out of there fast enough. Folks, We live in New Jersey , there are many beautiful places to camp and visit. stay away from this place if for no other reason then to protect yourself, friends and family from verbal abuse or worse. read more

What a great campground, nice wooded sites, clean facilities and helpful staff. I loved hearing the crows early in the morning, watched a group of Turkeys walk through my campsite and some deer walking down the road. If you follow the basic rules of camping etiquette and prefer a family style campground you will love Camp Taylor. This was my first stay here so that's why the 4 stars, I plan on coming back more so I hope I can still rate 4-5stars in the future,I think I won't be disappointed. read more
