If you're anywhere near Barolo town in Italy and love great wine, La Vite Turchese is an absolute…read moremust. This was hands-down one of the most memorable wine tastings we've had in Piedmont. The Barolo tasting was thoughtfully curated, showcasing the depth, elegance, and diversity of the region--from structured, age-worthy expressions to more approachable, aromatic pours. Each wine was introduced with genuine passion and deep knowledge, not in a rehearsed way, but with the warmth of people who truly live and breathe Barolo. We learned so much about terroir, producers, and vintages without it ever feeling overwhelming. The charcuterie board was the perfect companion: beautifully presented, featuring high-quality local cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that elevated each glass. Nothing felt generic--every bite was intentional and paired beautifully with the wines. What really sets La Vite Turchese apart is the atmosphere. Tucked right in the heart of Barolo town, it feels intimate, relaxed, and authentic--exactly what you hope for in a wine experience here. The service was welcoming, attentive, and never rushed, making us feel like guests rather than customers.

We stmbled into this place while in Barola wine tasting on vacation. Wow, great experience…read more Stefano listened to what type of experiance we were looking for, and pulled 4 wines that lead us on a journey to explain and discover the region. He had a great selection of regional wines, with prices that were very non-tourist. He insisted his wife select a cheese to compliment the wine, great decision. His shop hasn't been there very long, but what a contrast to the mass tourist stuff we got at the wine museum. Go find this place. If you are into wine, it is worth it.

Fantastic restaurant for typical Turin and Piemonte cuisine. We just didn't realize how popular this osteria is; reservations are definitely recommended. The ambiance is classic, with some modern touches; on the minimalist side. The food, however, is full of flavor. I suggest the menù degustazione/degustation meal, which allows you to pick a starter, a pasta dish, a main course, and a dessert from dishes on the menu with the symbol . At €33.50, the degustation meal is a really good deal. Our dinner started with 2 amuse-bouche, followed by a true classic of Turin cuisine: vitel tonné (cold, sliced veal with tuna sauce); which came in two sauces, modern and traditional. The steak tartare with mustard and honey sauce that was melt-in-your-mouth delicate. The pasta courses we had were homemade tajarin with a really flavorful ragù sauce, and plin agnolotti with 3 meats roasts in their own sauce, which were as rich and delicious as they sound. We also had the potato gnocchi with pea cream and Piedmont morels, which I really liked. A polenta flan with two-milk cheese and leek cream was mild and delicate. But the real surprise of the meal was the stuffed onion with sausage and "Bra duro" cheese in a red wine sauce, which was phenomenal! Phenomenal was the local stewed meat with Barbera wine and mashed potatoes. For dessert we had the thin chocolate millefoglie with mascarpone and coffee mousse, and the bonnet cocoa pudding with caramel sauce. What else can I add: this was a great dining experience, and I look forward to coming back.
