The surrounding area is quaint and quiet with some very sweet small towns within 10-15 minute drive away. Also some nice restaurants and sites to see around the area including old churches, a small castle down the road with a very nice park behind it, and a cool clock tower in Issoire. over all, it was a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful getaway in the south of France

My in-laws also got us a suite here for two nights during our wedding. I had to get past the strange name of this hotel, Oceania, considering that we are in CF, which is hours away from any ocean. Once I did, this place was excellent. It is very conveniently located near the train, and 2 minutes walk from Place de Jaude. They gave us a pre-selected menu for our family dinner, which made it easy for our family to select their meals. And the service was very personalized. The food was incredibly delicious. They even brought us GF desserts since my sis-in-law is also GF. The brunch was out-of-control! There was soooooo much food and it was delicious. They even brought a separate basket for GF pastries. Yes - pastries!! And not just weird, boring sliced bread, which is usually what happens when you have GF brunch requests. The suite was soooo nice! It was huge. There were 2 full bathrooms. One with a spa tub! Unfortunately, the tub was not used because we were always running around doing something. The antipathic staff doesn't even try to pretend they want to help you. You can choose between not sleeping because your window is closed and the air is hot and stuffy in the room, or not sleeping because you had to open the window in order to breath and there was too much noise outside. Prices are totally overrated for what it is - and it's surely not a 3 star worth! I left after one sleepless night and they didn't even agree to give me discount for a room in which nothing works!!!! Prices are twice as much as other comparable hotels in town, including better located ones!! Totally not recommended! there are a lot of other choices.

The Villa was wonderful for our small wedding (we had 28 guests, nearly all from far out-of-town, USA/UK/France 6+ hours drive). The food was delicious and they catered to our many dietary restrictions (GF, DF, non-nightshades). They were AH-MAZING with everything. They gave us various tastings for our food, and basically said"yes" to everything we asked. If I could give this place another star, then I would do it.
