I bought my camper 2 1/2 years ago and have had nothing and I mean nothing but problems ever since. I have repeatedly called the corporate office and filed a case against the Kingston camping world because of the never-ending issues. They literally sold me a lemon , but God forbid they take accountability for that instead they want you to pay out of your pocket for any work done even with the extended warranty, they had me purchase. I've had to replace my door three times on this camper. The plumbing has never been right. I have never been able to flush the Toilet, the water stays in the shower without draining, water pump never worked correctly etc., I called about the jack and hitch last fall and explained I parked it and it's just not right mind you I had to have my father re-drill bolts into the jack to hold it together or I would have had an accident driving it home. I called to have my camper repaired once again and I've been waiting months to get that appointment and Once again, I have to bring it there for yet another door replacement , the plumbing (which was never fixed from the start ) and the Jack (that I have had nonstop issues with and at this point is a big safety issue) . Lars in the service department has been horrible to work with . He lacks customer service big-time , I don't know why they would put him in such a role. He is insisting the camper has been in a collision! I have never ever had an accident with this camper, but because they don't want to admit fault that they sold me a Lemon, they instead want me to pay out-of-pocket or claim it through my personal insurance company! Lars even had the audacity to send me a statement that if the warranty does not cover what needs to be fixed, I will still have to pay a $500 fee for them just to look at the camper even though I have an extended warranty on the camper that I paid a lot of extra money for! They had the audacity to tell me that the camper jacks were mounted incorrectly. If they bother to use their brain cells, they would know I bought it like that! Why in the world would I mount the jacks ?? Please make it make sense. I opened a case with corporate on them and At this point, I am seeking legal council. I have had it with camping world. (Love my new ventless washer/dryer) I'm now backwards almost $10,000 for the damage, repair costs associated with their screw up. Lar the service advisor was the worst. Waited 6 weeks for appointment to see why refrig was not working. We bought it from them 6 months ago. They checked it out and the 95.00 diagnosis was now 499.00 They gave it back to me and still not working. Left it for recheck. Call the next day for update and Lar never called me back till 445 and stated, "The tech was out sick" They called to tell me it was done the next day and now it was 750.00. They changed for the under-warrantee battery 95.00. The mgr gave me credit for the 95.00 plus the 499.00 but due to staffing it had to wait tell the next day for the credit. We have a 2015 Forest River 5th wheel. We do most of the maintenance ourselves and have never had a problem figuring things out. We had an electric issue and decided to take it to the Kingston NY service center. On the good side they got it in and fixed our issue right away. The slide out maintenance was recommended and we went with it. The slide outs seem quieter and smoother. Bad side - We asked for a wash and wax they called the spa package for $299. It looks like we tried to do it ourselves. It was uneven unpolished and hazy. Next we had mouse activity which we NEVER have had. (Stored winter after winter with 30+ acres of fields around it) We noticed that they had cut a large opening in the belly of the camper (not sure why??) and had not sealed it back up. Went here with my family on Saturday 4/15/2023. First off, like the big flag that seems to float in the wind outside! 2nd off, i like how we walked into the doors of camping world and was greeted by the customer service desk. It makes you feel welcome. We were there because we are looking for a new trailer. We currently own a 5th wheel, and essentially looking to stay where we are with minor improvements like a half bathroom. Our Salesperson Diana was very nice, and knowledgeable. Side note to others: if you want a trailer and are looking, make time to spend a few hours here. Anyways, Diana showed us 2 trailers in the lot, and 1 of them were close to what we were looking for. We also looked at trailers online at the same dealers that camping world deals with. Overall didn't find a trailer this time, but that's okay. Trailer shopping can be a long process, but i'm glad we got it started. We also purchased a few items from their store, which has lots of things related to trailers. My dad even gets emails from them, and keeps an eye out for when there is discounts on items like chairs, beach wagons, etc. Anyways, we brought a garden flag, and a sunflower windchime. I purchased a brand-new camper from them and had to request a tongue plate? It was brought back for some issues; wrong parts were ordered, ridiculous freight charges added. There was damage that was my fault, however the insurance estimate was approximately $500. Then when I would pay for it out of pocket to save money it went to $880, upon completion it was $1100. At no time could anyone tell me what parts were repaired. Also upgraded the jack and when told I would pick the old ne up the original that was on it was "thrown away" they "all are". The sales rep outside blew his nose on the ground, wiped it with his hand and then attempted to shake my hand inside. As soon as you pull off their lot you are a stranger. The communication between booger in the service department all the other "managers" and corporate was horrible. Not to mention the unit was dead upon picking it up. When we got back home (3+ hours away) we tried the generator and it would not start. We had to bring it back to camping world and had to wait hours for someone to look at it (note--no lounge area to sit and wait). They said they services it but they were not responsible if it didn't work (service manager said, "a service does not insure it will run"). They chose not to fix issue and sent us on our way. Cost? We bought our camper (class c 2022 Thor coleman) we picked it up on august 8th 2022. While going through it we noticed the freezer door won't latch. Lance (technician) told us "that's not camper world it's made by some cheap company in china but we'll order new parts). By 8/10 we advised them of a list of issues on our BRAND NEW motorhome. We notified them (Dave specifically) about our door not latching correctly. We were told nope go on our vacation the door will be fine. We'll day 3 of our 10 day vacation our door handle is no longer attached. We have a 1 year old daughter and 2 dogs with no door. It drops down to 55° at night, that's obviously a problem with the baby. We called corporate, Kingston and even Thor and all they do is push us off onto each other. PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Go anywhere else. We are now stranded at a campground 70 miles from Kingston with their EXTENDED warranty with no door. We can't drive it down due to liability and they won't come to fix it. We have to pay out of pocket to have a mobile RV repairman come and fix it who most are 6 weeks out. Don't listen to Joe when he tried to sell you the extended warranty "I'll never leave you stranded" well we are stranded with no help since Friday 8/12. I offered to bring the motorhome to them on 8/12 and they said no need. Well now we're desperate and now that they already made the sale they don't care. It will add $100 monthly (via good Sam) and they will sell you up a river. It came to us with a damaged roof and stress cracks in the shower walls, which had not been present prior. We bought a new Keystone trailer plus the extended warranty several months ago (total cost +/- $69,000). I had read many of the negative reviews of Camping World, particularly about service, but didn't believe they could be that bad. My first clue should have been when I asked if they would winterize the new trailer before leaving the showroom. Yeah, they would, but for a fee of $100+. Really? So now I have a relatively minor problem, under warranty, that they could likely fix in no time (the cables from the installed Winegard 360+ are missing so I can't attach the Gateway). I removed the "placeholder" in the living room ceiling and even looked for the cables m with a borescope, but can't find them. I called service and asked to speak with a technician, but was told technicians cannot come to the phone, but I can make an appointment. I left a complaint as a Facebook message and received a prompt response advising someone would call. Someone did and referred me to the Good Sam phone tech support number (I couldn't imagine how phone support could address missing wires, but I called). Spoke with a rep who was VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL! He said this is a warranty issue and to contact the dealer for an appointment; noting that he's used to dealers passing customers off to phone support even when they know phone support won't be able to help. I called today (Feb 23rd) and was told the first appointment is two weeks out, then the trailer would be in a "queue" with 35 repair jobs ahead of it - advising I should plan for it to be there for about 4 weeks!!! (This isn't even camping season yet - I can't imagine how long the wait will be once people start de-winterizing their campers)! This makes the warranty relatively worthless! I honestly didn't believe all the negative reviews I've read about this outfit, but now I do! MY ADVICE: Find somewhere else to purchase and/or service your RV!! read more

After a long hassle of a process, I was supposed to pick up an RV from them and they called me the night before to tell me it was broken. I selected a different RV. I was supposed to pick up the new RV from them, after the first one was broken but when I arrived for pick up they told me that they re-evaluated my trade-in and I would need to pay over $10,000 more dollars to get my new RV. I informed Theresa that our campground was secluded and needed a heavy duty truck and informed Theresa that we won't be reachable since we get no phone service at our site. The delivery team didn't not feel secure to go up into the campground due to the gravel. Once again no camper. My husband and I took off from work and my two special needs kids miss school just to be at the site for delivery. We have spend so much money and a month and half later still no RV. I recently purchased a 2018 Forest River TV and am delighted to be part of this network. First of all they were aggressive in helping me secure financing. When you pick up your camper, plan to spend several hours because a very thorough demonstration comes before they let you finish your paperwork. After I set up the camper, I discovered the furnace didn't work. When troubleshooting over the phone didn't work, they sent a technician to my site, who got me heat right away. Service department is very prompt in giving advice/quotes for upgrading features.They are great with suggestions for off grid camping as well as tying you into their national network. I should have read the yelp reviews before driving down to Kingston to check out an RV but live and learn. My husband called because he wanted to see if they had a specific camper on their lot. He asked for the sales department and the receptionist pretty much wanted his name and phone number before she'd put him through. He hung up but I called back and asked if they had the camper on hand. The receptionist switched me through to sales and the salesman confirmed that they had it. I told him that I was coming down to take a look and he told me to ask for him when I got there. We pull in and go to the reception desk. When I asked for the salesman I had spoken to she asked me if I had an appointment. Really, it's not a doctor's office or a lawyer or an accountant! It's a RV store! She paged through some papers to double check and finally called for the salesman. He told us that he needed to get some info before he showed us the RV, we talked him out of that and we looked at the RV. We decided we liked it and wanted to discuss the price, hoping there was some wiggle room in it. When my husband asked him what kind of fees were added on he gave us the jaw dropping amount of $1200 - on a $10000 RV! We've been looking at camper for a few months now and expected a fee of a couple hundred, not one of more than 10% of the price, and that didn't include the battery which every other place included in the purchase price. While my husband discussed pricing with him I wandered around their showroom which was full of overpriced camping equipment. Things in the store that I already knew the cost of were at least 50% more than you could pick up at Wal-Mart or Target. They just seemed shady to me and there's not really anyway that I would ever buy a camper here. read more

Not good at all! I have nothing good to say about this dealership. We went for the delivery of our NEW 2021 unit. The delivery was disastrous. The unit looked used and abused, dents, poor caulking, parts falling off. It was Filthy! After entering the unit, it was not even what was we ordered, the appliances were black. I specifically told the salesperson that is not what we wanted. Stainless Steal is what sold me with the unit we originally looked at. They were given a chance to make a wrong a right. The GM became involved. He had the unit we wanted transported from another store. 10 minutes before I'm do to leave for the 2nd delivery, I get a call that the unit is being detailed and they were calling me to tell me the unit had several dents, one significant. The slide was dragging on the floor, it's was being repaired at that time. They could get the outside skins, but will take 8-10 weeks. They were kind enough to offer that we go through with the purchase, use a dented camper, and they will fix it when the skins come in. Are you kidding me?!?!! To me, not one person handled things right, professionally. The sales person messed up with the order, the sales manager argued with me, claiming the original unit I looked at had black appliances, like I don't know what I looked at. The GM likes to put blame on his staff. If I were the GM, I myself, would want to make sure things go well to make things right for the customer. He failed! read more

Went to purchase our new RV and had nothing but troubles from the beginning. I literally had to call Camping World headquarters in order to get the Camping World in Kingston, NY to even call me back. I will try to keep this short because I could go on and on about the issues but I will touch on some of the main issues. First I will say with all I have in me AVOID at all cost it is worth traveling a little further away for potentially better service. Ok the first issue is you will not get anyone to call you back you will have to chase them down and message, call, and email them. They wont answer your question directly they will avoid them, especially when it comes to price matching which is something Camping World offers. Dont ask for them to deliver your RV because they cant do that either even though they offer that as well. The people are rude, and not very friendly and they will not acknowledge you, they will not give you their names, and the 3 and a half hours we had to wait be be helped when we went to pick up our RV they will not offer you a place to sit or a beverage or any thing. My daughter was literally sitting on the floor. At one point I asked for them to bring my trade in RV back out because I would go else where to get our new RV, they did not do that either. All this before we even seen the new RV. After the 3 and a half hours we finally got to do the walk through with JP who by the way was the nicest person there. Now was the time to see Joe in finance and oh my god this was the worst experience I have ever. Very pushy especially when it came to the extended warranties (Beware of the hard push for the extended warranties you don't need.) Joe made you feel very uncomfortable and almost angry to a point. When you tell him no 3 times that you don't want the warranties and he tells you quote " Oh my God are you serious, everyone gets the extended warranties" You should see they stuff they try to put in there that you won't need. He is not quick to take no for an answer but super-fast at signing you up and getting you to sign. Believe me this is not just my opinion but my experience. I don't normally write online reviews, but I was motivated to write a review after a recent service experience that my wife and I experienced at Camping World. We are new to RVing, having just bought a used camper trailer last year (R-Pod). We took the camper to Camping World and had them conduct their 45-point inspection and also had them investigate an electrical problem and had them re-seal the entire camper. We knew going into it that the service wouldn't be cheap, but we also wanted to make sure that our camper would be in tip-top shape, and we now feel that it is and will be taking it out again soon. When I booked the appointment, they did say that it would be a few weeks before they could get it in, but since we weren't in a hurry, that was fine. When I took it in, I made clear that we weren't in a rush, and our service rep, Nick, was very courteous and said he would keep us abreast of the situation in the coming week, which he did. The 45-point inspection did indicate that we needed new wheel bearings, and while this added to the expense, we were glad to have gotten the inspection and to get the bearings serviced rather than having to discover a problem down the road and possibly at a less ideal time. The re-sealing was very professionally done, and the technicians seemed to take care in doing a good job and even cleaning up the exterior of the camper so that it looked as good as new when we went to pick it up, which was a little more than a week after we dropped it off. We were thrilled when we saw it looking ready for adventure. When we picked it up, Nick was careful to walk us around the camper and explain everything to us and was patient in answering our newbie questions about RVing. As mentioned, the service wasn't cheap, but it was an extensive service appointment, and we now feel confident hitting the road again. Nick was extremely professional, and I would give him the highest marks as a service professional. I've seen some mixed reviews of this particular Camping World location, but I can honestly say that our experience was top-notch. We've already scheduled our winterization service, and we will be hitting the road with our little camper a few more times before then with confidence. By far the worst experience we have had. I'm not too sure why I didn't check reviews prior to stepping foot in this place. It started with requesting additional info on a camper off the website. It took a day or two but the supposed internet sales manager, Melissa finally emailed us back. I responded to her request and gave her my phone number. She never called us! I called in and spoke to Julia (relative of Melissa). We emailed back and forth until Tony and I decided to go in. We live an hour away and had plans to see our niece that evening. Julie was not there that day so we ended up with a salesman off the floor. He told us we could not go look at the camper we were interested in because it's company policy we answer the following question: 1. How many vacation days do you get? 2. How often will you camp? 3. Where do you plan on camping? 4. How many will be camping? 5. Do you have children? 6. What are their ages? 7. Do you have pets, if so how many? 8. What type of pets & their weight? After answering these ridiculous questions (most of which we made up answers to) we were shuffled off to Don because he is Julie's sales partner. Don was actually very nice. We decided on a different camper then the one we initially liked. We ask if the price is negotiable and Don replied they are not in the used car business. The price is the price. We ended up giving Don $500 in cash to hold the camper. He informed us Julie will be in touch when she get in tomorrow. Julie was in the next day but she never bothered to call us. I had to call her. SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON. We told her about the camper, our application, our deposit and so on. She said she would call us back. NOTHING! I called her back quite upset and she told me it is a 72 hour process. I mention to her the website says MAKE AN OFFER but Don said they are not negotiable. Her reply couldn't get any less professional; "you can make an offer, that doesn't mean we will accept it." She couldn't explain why Don said one thing and the website says another. She had no clue. She hadn't even looked at our paperwork yet, she said it's on her desk. WHAT??? I told her I was very unhappy with a the confusion and requested to speak to a manager. Melissa gets on the phone. I guess she thought she was going to be the bully on campus because started out the conversation being rude, that sets me right off and I did not tolerate it. She said they were waiting to hear back from the bank. Really? Julie just said it wasn't submitted yet? She then proceeded to tell us to go to Albany RV, said "we didn't run your card yet, just go to Albany RV." I laughed so hard and told her this is the problem, sheer confusion!! You don't have my card to run, we gave you cash!!! The entire time she was a royal B! She said the whole thing was our fault because we came in so late the night before. They close at 7pm and we got there at 5pm. Evidently she failed learning to tell time in elementary school. I asked for someone who had a clue what they were doing. I ended up with Joe who is the finance manager. Joe seemed nice and pretty upfront. He claims he couldn't believe what a B Melissa was but my guess is he's heard this about her before. We requested our deposit be refunded. Joe said he has to talk to the girl that does it and it will be mailed out Friday. It is now 3/28 (two weeks later) and no deposit refund. I called and left Joe a message at 10:30 am. No response. I called back at 12:00 and was transferred to a different finance person, I had to leave another message. No response. I called back at 4:00 and get sales. He transferred me and I am on hold for 8 minutes. I call back, ask for finance and get Joe's VM again. My husband, Tony is sitting right by me. I give him the number and ask him to call and say he is returning Joe's call. They transfer him and guess what?? Joe answered!! Joe proceeds to tell us all refunds are mailed on Friday's by corporate (different story then before). He then asked if we used a card!!! Oh boy! Tony asked for corporates number and he was told by Joe corporate does not deal with the public! You just can't make this sh!t up. I of course google corporates number and they speak to me. I talk to Terrance who assures me corporate absolutely speaks to consumers. He escalates my concern to the Regional Manager, Laurie who will call me back within 48 hours. Today is 3/28 - we will see. My review will be updated accordingly. As of right now, in my opinion, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I am just glad we had two witnesses to this. ****UPDATE***** 48 hours later and no call from Laurie W. the supposed Regional Manager. I called customer service back and was told they are never to give out regional managers names. I was then told they would now escalate to the regional manager above Laurie W. It is 2:30 on March 30th. I'll keep you posted. read more

Camping world is a predatory company that uses service to charge for diagnostic tests that exaggerated costs and then hold you vehicle hostage. Beware! Brought our RV in for servicing 6 weeks ago only to find nothing had been done. After calling weekly then daily for updates and getting ZERO response, my husband went in-person to plead for an update...was presented with a $775 bill and no work done, just diagnostics! Unbelievable since we had purchased our RV brand new from camping world 3 years prior and coughed up the extra money for THEIR BEST INSURANCE policy that they assured us "ALL REPAIRS COVERED FOR 5 YEARS"! Staff, including manager Michael and service guy Nick, was rude and unapologetic. What a terrible disappointment. We feel swindled and have no recourse. We are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Take your business elsewhere, I wouldn't wish this treatment on my worst enemy. read more

So far the only good thing is our salesman Jim. Both times we looked at camper dirty like used toiletries in bathroom filthy carpet not even plugged in to see if slide out worked. Worst customer service I ever experience,purchased my camper the first week of June went there 3 times to drop money told salesperson that the camper need it repairs before I pick up it's a brand new camper and I don't want it to be damaged,they assured me that it would be ready for pick up on the 25 and when I get there they want me to take it with the damage still there,50000$ and they didn't care the camper was damaged,our 4 of July was ruined so they promise to deliver to my property I close my business to be there and they could not deliver the camper to the site because they say it's a gravel driveway,I have to get a truck for the second time to go pick it up,who's going to compensate me for my loss of time and money and all the aggravation that we going through,really bad experience I would never recommend anyone to buy there read more

Terrible sorry I purchased here. Warranty useless and after my camper being there from 2/8- 5/28 they didn't even change battery for us camper dead electric jacks dead I a 50 year old woman had to climb inside my camper over bump out and hook up battery charger wth?! Then pouring rain had to clime out because warranty didn't even cover fixing my bump out. Useless useless waste of my time. read more

he fact that I have to write this is incredibly disturbing to me... our family friends had bought a camper from your business in june... she put a large amount of money down on the camper and she and her fiancé brought the camper home on June 3rd...she passed away june 9th due to a brain aneurysm which obviously we knew absolutely nothing about. the fact that the business did absolutely nothing to accommodate for the family for this time and help them out with returning the camper that was NEVER even used... you rudely denied giving any amount of the payment back for the camper... and also hung up on the fiancé?? shame on you camping world... obviously you couldn't care less about your customers... this is a problem we obviously couldn't have helped.... we are deeply saddened at the loss and this whole ordeal just added MORE unnecessary stress onto us. the only help that was given was from Manager Klistos who apologized to her daughter for the loss and issues... learn how to manage a business and care for the people that give you your business that you don't deserve at all at this point. read more
