Stunning grounds, friendly staff. I stayed in one of the historic cottages away from the main…read morehouse. It was nicely sized and featured high-quality furnishings.
However, I came in September during a rather warm spell during the day (27c), and my second-floor room was suffocatingly hot. There's no air conditioning and no screens on the windows, but letting bugs in (of which many arrived) was preferable to no sleep. My room was literally 32c (90f, and it was unbearable. I would rather have slept in a car if I could.
Also, shouldn't a hotel of this standard have a shower? My room had an unremarkable tub with a wand, but no wall mount to make it a shower head, let alone any glass for a stall. I inadvertently soaked the floor.
I'm sure this place is lovely in the fall and winter, but I can't recommend this place at all if it's even vaguely warm out.
