With the fat tower of Lichtenberg (a remainder from the Middle Ages) literally towering over this…read morecamping site (more than 100 places, most of them rented out permanently), this public swimming pool with camping facilities is adequately named. At the centre of the place is the swimming area consisting of a chlorine free if rather cool pool, lawns for sunbathing, children's playground, and a little shop that sells drinks and snacks. The ablution blocks are well cared for, there is also a nappy change room for babies and toddlers. The TV room is rather more interesting for campers or the only way to get a formula-I-fan out of the house on a Sunday afternoon. The place is open to day visitors with an entry price of 1EUR per person a bargain nowadays. Definitely well worth a visit on a sunny day!

The bathrooms were very large and they were lots of them. In the evening we enjoyed a walk to the small lake, admiring on the way how creative German people can be when it comes to establishing their campsites. There are lots of facilities for children such as 2 separate play areas and a minigolf.
