We grabbed our beer and went to the counter and they took so long checking our I.D's by the time they checked it was 12 A.M. and they said they will not sell to us anymore. I'm absolutely shocked that this bomb diggitty LQ hasn't received rave reviews! Well here is mine: I should buy stock in this company with how much booze I bought here in college...and I still go back when I visit FTC. Sometimes twice in one day! What sets this store apart is the great proximity to the college crowd. Close to everywhere on the west side of campus and always stocked to the brim with bottles, 30 packs of Key Light (and Key Ice for the daring), lots of mixers, plus a surprisingly good selection of cigars means happy folks! I could be wrong but if you get a receipt from the King Soopers on Taft and Elizabeth you get a coupon on the back for 12% off. This is enough to reduce the total paid to the advertised price. For the college freshman that means you don't pay tax :-) At least, that's how it was in the good ole days when I was in The Fort. On my most recent visit the employees were nothing but helpful, polite and humorous at the same time. Sure, maybe during finals week or a big snow storm the attitude changes but you gotta roll with the punches. Bring your ID, and make sure it's yours because they are sticklers for checking. Still giving 1 star for their response to my complaint for kicking me out with pink shorts. Their response did nothing to warrant my suspicion of discrimination. If owner had said "we only kick people out cross dressing ONE night of the year, and that's during the undie run," maybe we'd have gotten somewhere but I still can't wash the smell out of bigotry that store left on my pink shorts. God forbid your alcoholic customers were offended morally by my pink shorts like what the hell. Cmon. Don't try and take the high road in this one. Acknowledge the stupidity of your policy and then maybe we can negotiate a deal where I take down my review and you get off your high horse (again--you sell alcohol. People do dumb things on alcohol. I agree with the review below, this place is actually THE best place to buy beer in Fort Collins, of the dozen or so places I've checked out. Awesome service too. Pros: + Microbrew of the month, like $8 for an Odell 6-pack this month. + 12% off coupon that you get on the back of King Sooper reciepts, which makes already good prices easily the best in town across the boards for microbrews + Sometimes have good cheap wine deals, like $8-9 bottles for $5 + I'm ALWAYS approached by staff offering help. Cons - Slightly crowded - Ask to leave backpacks by the door (can't really blame them though) - Not comparable to Wilburs in terms of wine or liquor selection, but have the mainstays read more

I would appreciate a company more who can follow their own respective hours an not rudely ignore loyal customers. I had been very happy with this company till recently new entitled employees have taken over the store, and see the customers as pests and a bother rather than people who pay their bills. I ask a man five or ten minutes of company closing time, and refuse to even acknowledge me or the time. He balked at my request and continued to talk to the other staff and laugh when I give up trying to get an explanation. So far my favorite liquor store in town also right down the street! Nice setup and young mostly attractive people working here haha. Besides that the people are friendly and always down for a laugh or joke. Beautiful thing about it is you get coupons at king soopers or Safeway for here. I always come here to buy my wine. So does my husband. They wouldn't serve him one time because he apparently was too drunk. I know when he is drunk and I say he wasn't. he wasn't driving anyway and I waited in the car. Remember to always bring in your 12% OFF from King Sooper's. If not, they have great deals anyways. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and they have a wide selection considering the medium-size of the store. They now have mix-six packs which is cool - still wish you could select your own mix-six beers like at Mulberry Max or Wilber's. read more

I am on crutches and it is really hard to get around. I pulled into their parking area and called the store. They were really really busy as it was a Friday afternoon. I asked if there was anyway they could bring me beer to my car and take my card to pay for it. I stressed that it was no rush. They quickly said that was no problem and they would be out in five minutes. Sure enough Jason appeared in five minutes at my window. Unfortunately they were out of what I wanted but he made some suggestions of items on sale and I made another selection. He took my card and quickly returned with the receipt and the beer which he put in the car for me. So thanks Jason for helping a beer drinker out and thanks to the friendly staff at Campus West. this is not a depot like home depot is a depot. in fact its on the smaller side of liquor store sizes by university town standards. its close to a lot of people but its rather decent overall. the 12% off coupon seems to just negate the slightly over priced products. read more
