I know not everyone loves dogs but he needed to be with me in that moment for this errand and I'm grateful for the friendly, smooth transaction. Price was perfectly reasonable and I just trust CP, even in these crazy uncertain strike periods.

It's really not much bigger in space than you would find in the drug stores around the city, where they occasionally have a postal outlet. They offer the standard Canada Post Office services, like stamps, coins, and mailing letters and picking up packages. There's also PO boxes available here. What I'm enjoying right now are the colourful holiday stamps offered by Canada Post! We certainly do not get as much mail as we used to, now that the internet and emails have taken over. What we get most often are bills :-( Until this time of year, of course! I hope to get a few holiday cards, and I have sent a few - with those colourful stamps! These are essential during COVID, to cheer people up. The service here has been adequate. They've put plexiglass sheets in front of the cash, to protect the staff as well as clients. Note they are only open half days on Saturdays, in the morning.

The parking lot backs out onto a grassy field of some sort (I saw people working out, out there.) I got what I needed here: Change of address; forward my mail to new house; keys for the mail box. The woman who served me was very busy though, sorting something out over the phone at the same time as helping me. And no sooner did she hang up then the phone rang again! I don't think the Canada Postal Service is going anywhere any time soon: you can now order things off the internet, and have them shipped to your closest postal outlet. Very handy! And they still sell those gorgeous coins from the Canada mint (although I didn't really know people still collected those. Makes sense though...) Surely I will have reason to go back to this outlet, once in a while, anyway.

Practically across from each other. Did I need to book an eye test immediately? Maybe. I needed to dig into this weirdness some more. We can't have a confused tourist, let alone confused me. 59 Sparks Street is this Yelp listing. When you look at the building, it has Post Office above the main entrance, with two lion statues on either side of it. It looked like there were other businesses in this building, but nothing that screamed post office. I had to do a bit of digging. This location was known as Ottawa Postal Station B. It's considered a cultural heritage site as of September 2018. I can't tell what this building's purpose is now. What I do know is that the current full-service Canada Post across the street at 58 Sparks Street replaces services from 59 Sparks Street. This post office at 58 Sparks Street was formerly the Ottawa Electric Building. It has been around since 1926 by Albert Ewan, an architect for the Ottawa Electric Company. This company was both an electrical utility company. It also ran electric streetcars back in the day. Fascinating! So, looking at the reviews for this listing, my guess is that everyone is commenting on the services back in 2019 and earlier at the old post office. For current Canada Post services, such as mailing a parcel and renting a mailbox, you want to go across the street to the Canada Post with the Ottawa Electric Building name above the red Canada Post sign. Another shop I occasionally go to in this mall is the M&M Meat shop. There's also an IDA Drugmart with a post office inside it, and a McDonalds. Stittsville and area is really growing. It just seems less crowded than similar areas I've been to in the east end - such as Merivale Rd. The big plus for me in Stittsville and Kanata (Ottawa's "True West End") is that there is finally more shopping out this way. That, combined with less congestion is what keeps me here!

She accused me of yelling at…read morestaff and when I spoke to her more about this (I said she must be mistaking me for someone else) she said that I had given her staff trouble last Christmas. I only visit this place 3-4 times a year and have always been pleasant and respectful - never raising my voice! Also, I don't send Christmas cards or packages so wasn't even in the post office last Christmas! I spoke to another merchant in the Mall who says she's not surprised - Krissy's behaviour is very strange! She advised me to not take this personally but it's frustrating to encounter a merchant being so confrontational/abusive. It appears that Krissy has some serious mental health issues!

The biggest benefit of dropping it off at this location over a Canada post office in a shoppers for instance is how quickly the items get picked up to be delivered.
