This location allows me to renew Health Card, Driver Licences, Vehicle Registrations.. I still remembered that time that I have to go to a Ministry of Health office in order to renew my Health Card!! To my surprise, the line was moving really fast!! The staffs at the counters are so efficient in handling all the transactions and I had everything done in 15 minute or so!!

The automatic doors were too sensitive when it was a bank. I'd round the corner, fairly far from the entrance, and the doors would open for me. Nooo! This post office location is closed on weekends. It was nice walking by the main entrance this evening without the doors opening up. It's street parking. I normally don't have difficulty finding a spot. However, if you can't find anything, you can park where the condos are just north of this Canada Post. There are marked visitor spots. I looked through the glass like the curious person that I am. If you are renting a mailbox, you have access to it at all hours. There are many boxes and sizes, depending on your needs. There are parcel boxes that require a key to access a box. There's also a mailbox that built into the wall. Current hours of operation are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. It's like it's still a bank! It's closed on statutory holidays. It's Victoria Day tomorrow, so there's no postal services here, for instance. It's a nice addition to Markham to have a standalone Canada Post. Most of the time, you have one within either a Shoppers Drug Mart or something different, like a gift shop at Warden and Highway 7. I dig it this new Canada Post. I can't wait to check it out when it's open on a weekday. (156)

On September 28th the Town of Richmond Hill revealed this piece of outdoor street art in the city's…read moredowntown village. The statue stands 14 feet high and is made almost entirely of granite and bronze is a figure to promote Richmond Hill's culture. Fitting that it has been erected in front of its shining center piece the Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre (designed in the likeness of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto). The bronze sculpture is of two intertwined dancers on top of the granite base of ascending piano keys and is the vision, mission and passion for the last two years of Richmond Hill Councillor Nick Papa. Designed by artist and designer William Ho and sculptor John Porretta the estimated cost of the statue (with funds provided exclusively by generous local businesses - no taxpayers dollars were spent) is approximately just shy of $200,000. I'm a big fan of these sort of editions to the downtown Richmond Hill core, and I'm hoping this is the first of many to come to my hometown. Keepin' it local

However, due to much development in the area, the parking lot is smaller than I recall when I was last here ten years ago. I parked on the street. It was Green P parking. I was lucky that I paid for an additional session through the app because I was here for nearly four hours. The maximum parking session is three hours. I recommend not coming here on a Monday. It seems like everyone was here when I was. This location offers a number of services that I am probably unaware of. I can't and won't rattle them off. I do know that for Canadians, it has these services: - Apprenticeship grants - Benefits finder - Canadian dental Care plan - Job bank - Labour market information - Passport application - Social Insurance Number application I was here to get my passport reviewed. It was confusing entering the building to figure out where to go. For this business listing, all services that Service Canada does, minus passports, is on the left when you walk through the main entrance. Signage is non-existent. You want the lineup that is shorter of the two. For passport applications, you need to line up where the longer lineup twists and turns on the right. Again, signage was so poor that I asked a security person where I should go for passports. He was great pointing me in the right direction. I don't think that I'd be using any other service here but applying for a passport. In the past, you'd go up to the second floor. These days, it's seems to be triage on the main floor before you get a number and head upstairs to the second floor to complete the final part of the application process. Payment is upstairs for passports. Debit and credit cards are accepted. Certified cheques and money orders are accepted. You can't do personal cheques or cash to pay. (120)

On the 3rd business day, my cellphone did not ring but a voice message was left saying they couldn't contact me and would try again tomorrow. The same scenario repeated itself on the 4th business day but this time the message was to complete a new request if I still required service. Well, I decided to go to the Service Canada office located next to the Scarborough Town Centre on Friday. Since I didn't have an appointment, I was instructed by Security to a wait line along with a dozen people (standing) ahead of me. Sixty-five minutes later, I was sitting in front of a government agent. The service agent was prompt, courteous and friendly. My request document was completed in under 10 minutes.

Details: I am visiting Lebovic Jewish Community Center once a month. It has a relaxing atmosphere. It has outdoor parking, 2 floors underground garage and 2 floors above ground level. Pool, gym and cafeteria are on the ground level. Many classes and development businesses on 2nd and 3rd floors. I have never been inside the pool, so I do not know much about changing rooms or if they have a sauna. However, pool has big cathedral windows. It looks clean and organized as the rest of the community. They have elevators, escalators and complementary Wifi. Employees and guests are polite and friendly. Overall, it's a great Community Center which is utilized mainly by Jews, but open for anyone else.

This Milliken Mills branch of Markham Public Library (MPL) is my home branch. It's where I first…read moregot my first Markham library card when I moved back to Markham from Winnipeg. If you work, live, or go to school in Markham, you are eligible for a free library card. You basically go to the customer service counter, and present identification that shows your current name and address. You'll be asked to provide your phone number and e-mail address. It doesn't take long to get your card and a key tag version of it. This library is located inside Milliken Mills Community Centre. The closest door to enter the library is across from Milliken Mills Park. There is lots of parking. Staff have always been helpful and nice if you have any questions. They are patient, likely because there are children programs and you have to be. This library is older. It does have a decent multimedia section. You can rent audiobooks, movie DVDs, and more. The book selection is decent. It depends on what you are looking for. The fiction section is great. The newer books are more challenging to nab because the demand is great. I like the cookbook section. As great as it is to look up recipes online, it's a nice throwback to grab a cookbook, leaf through it, and spot a recipe that I'd like to try. I end up taking a photo of it these days. It's easier than trying to photocopy it for eons past. The washrooms are a part of the community centre. You have to exit the library and walk down the corridor to get to it. It's a hit-or-miss situation with cleanliness. There is wifi throughout the community centre. It's free and it works well. If you feel like a snack or meal, there's a McDonald's at the far end with a drive-thru. I seem to visit it more these days than the library. I have spent more time at this library doing work when wifi was an issue years ago. I ended up ditching Rogers for TekSavvy and haven't had to come here to be productive with wifi connectivity. Milliken Mills Branch Library located at Kennedy just south of 14th Avenue…read more This is one of the older Library system that in need of some sort of renovation. Built pre internet area, the power outlets for my laptops are not easy to find... There are some comfortable sofa style seatings, that I want to park myself with my laptop but unfortunately, no electric outlets are in sight. They do have some new metal looking partitions study stations that have individual power outlets... A lot of the furnitures here are quite old...and Walmart looking... hopefully they will have the budget to replace some of them. Kudos to their hardcover books collections! A lot of the previous Bestsellers they still carries multiple copies... Good to drop by to pick up a book or 2 when you have nothing better to do than the read a book. The Wifi connection here is much better than the one at Unionville library.. a lot faster and more stable! :) This will be another of my Yelp office when I am in the area! Oh and by the way, McDonalds is in the same building!! So you see people popping out to get a coffee from there or even going out for a break and snack on McDonalds goodies! :P

I was trying to make a police report because my passenger's side back window got smashed. The police on duty was really helpful and listened to me trying to explain to him what happened.. as I was really upset.. and it took me awhile to calm down... and ended up I was at the wrong place... since it is Not a collision.. so I need to go to a Police Station to make a report! So I was given all the information and direction...and off I go... BTW, I can also report the incident online instead of driving to a station... oh now I know!!

REMEMBER 2 PIECES GOVERNMENT ISSUED I.D. I had to make the trip twice because I only had a drivers license and forgot my birth certificate at home. The website apparently states other forms accepted. Staff were also nice about me bringing my little dog along because I wouldn't want to leave him in the car.
