Their cheese is great it's all organic, their garlic Raclette is great, but their cheese curds are absolutely something else they are fresh and they squeak and WOW JUST WOW, they are amazing. My friend told me people living in the area could get their dairy products here on pre-assigned days. I love this community living. Due to covid-19, only 3 people (same party) are allowed inside the store. The washroom is also closed. You could see see the goats and kids and watch them feeding from the trough. Inside the shop, there are some local or BC products which will make good gifts or souvenirs. The sorbet and gelato are also great, especially when the weather is hot. I will suggest to have a cooler/ice box in your car if you intend to buy any cheese or milk. I did not have it and the fat/oil from my cheese truffle oozed out onto the lid of another container. Lucky it did not get any messier. But the cheese and yogurt are all good after I put them in the fridge when I got home. Nice place for a stop if you are in the Harrison Hot Springs area. And get the sorbet! It is so refreshing.

Love it! Now the cheese... internationally renowned cheese maker providing consistently high-ranked cheeses, there's a little something for everyone here. If you're not exactly into the real rich, stinky cheeses they also have more milder varieties. Alpine Gold is one of my favourites and their truffle balls are amazing. For the 2015 Farmer's Market route they offered a honey and lavender chevre pyramid that was amazing, but you could only pick it up at markets (I was able to get it only once at the shop). They also have a halloumi cheese called the Chuck Wagon that they offer seasonally. If they have some in shop do pick it up, grills up wonderfully! I could seriously go on and on. I typically make a run out to the farm once a month and stock up. Ultra organic, you can taste it in the product, offsets the price. Go there. Do it now. You won't regret it!

The first thing that hit me when I walked into the little gift shop/food store at Limbert Mountain…read moreFarm was the deep scent of apple. It was their Circle Farm Tour Christmas celebration, and I was soon offered a lavender shortbread cookie (yum!) and a cup of hot apple cider. Yes please! They were making it right there on the little cast iron stove at the back, from apples that had been pressed on site. The store is well stocked with preserves and sauces and spice rubs made from some of the farm's own produce, with emphasis on garlic and lavender, as well as bath products by local companies and Vista D'Oro artisanal jams. They even have taste testers on hand so you can try just about any of the sauces before buying. Of course, that can make it more difficult to decide (Barn Burner Garlic Sauce +++1). My friends and I wandered a bit around the farm before going into the cafe ... since it's winter, many of plants are well, let's say dormant because lavender is a perennial. But walking around the barn and down to the garden, you get an idea of the abundance of herbs they grow here. Not to mention the views of the snow-covered mountains - beautiful! Several of us had lunch in the cafe - as mentioned, it's a small space but they accommodated our group very gracefully. The menu changes according to what's in season - in fact, it's just a little chalkboard listing the day's choices. Everything is fresh and made from scratch - a locavore's dream! And it's fun to watch the chefs working away in the open kitchen - complete with mirror on the ceiling so you can see what's happening on the counter. (I think they offer cooking classes as well.) I had a pasta with a squash sauce with red cabbage, pomegranate and orange salad. And the chocolate pate for dessert with a local cranberry sauce and whipped cream ... light in texture, rich in flavour - perfection.

* Top u-pick! *…read more We've been on a U-pick kick this summer, trying to explore the various organic options available. This farm is now at the top of our list for U-pick! Here's why: - Really feels like a family farm. A couple and their little girls were all under a sun tent waiting for u-pickers to greet you. - Peaceful. We didn't see any other u-pickers at all. It was like being in a private blueberry field! - Very friendly. The man walked us into the field and showed us where the good blueberry bushes were that were perfectly ripe and ready to be picked. None of the sending you off to the fields to search randomly for the good stuff! - Quality. The bushes are older, and produce an amazingly sweet richly flavoured berry. We enjoyed them yesterday with some of our homemade vanilla ice cream. Today they are going into a blueberry crumble - which I can't wait to sample when it finishes baking! - Ease of picking. The bushes had huge numbers of berries clumped together. They almost looked like bunches of grapes! You literally could put two hands under a clump, give it a bit of a vibration and dozens of ripe berries fall into your hands. - Farming methods. This is a certified organic farm. Not just "following practices" as many claim. Fully certified. They also are certified biodynamic. So you know it is long term sustainable. Very nice. It feels good to eat things you know have not been contaminated with pesticides, and also that are fully sustainable so they will be there for years to come. - Setting. Located in the Chilliwack Valley, but fairly close to the mountains. So you have a beautiful view of the mountains while picking. Call me crazy but somehow it didn't feel as hot as when you are in an open field with no mountains in the distance. So even though it was 28 degrees it was quite comfortable. - Price. For organic they are very reasonably priced at $2.20/lb. They took a bit off for the weight of the bucket too (80 cents) - very fair pricing. - Setup. Even though you are in the middle of a field, they have a portable water cooler so that you can wash off your hands after picking. There is a porta-potty too. But we didn't venture in there. So no comment on that! The ripe berry bushes are also covered in a clear mesh tent so that the sun still gets in, but the birds do not pick away at the ripe berries. So you enter through an opening in the mesh and totally feel outdoors, but in reality it is a semi-protected environment. The farm grows all sorts of things (carrots, beets, squash, beans, cucumbers, arugula, kale, romaine, corn, and even beef and eggs), but focuses the u-pick on berries. The other products are available from them through their farmer's market visits apparently. Overall this is just a wonderful day trip getting a bit out of the city, seeing the scenery, picking some amazingly sweet berries, and enjoying playing with the farm dog (who is very friendly as well). The staff at the front of the store are extremely knowledgeable about all the foods and sweets they sell straight from the UK. We all found some nostalgic treats and enjoyed the stories the staff had to tell us. There is so much to see and taste there even if you aren't familiar with the food it's worth a try. At the back of the building is a tea shop that sells scones with real Devonshire cream and beans on toast! It was all wonderful and tasted like we remember. The only downside I found was the slight attitude we got when we asked for builders tea. The waitress said they didn't sell that brand anymore. Builders tea is a way of preparing tea and not a brand. She didn't agree and insisted they don't carry it... We just said it's fine and to bring us tea with cream and sugar on the side. The museum attached to it has so much stuff to look through and learn about. A great place to go and get lost in some history while enjoying a cup of tea and some sweets!
