Canadian Tire Fairview location, Burlington In August 2025, they installed an remanufactured alternator. By January of 2026, the belt was worn. I brought it to Canadian Tire Appleby location and was told that this remanufactured alternator often fails and it put pressure on the belt and it caused a leak on the water pump. I had to spend $411 for an ungraded alternator, belt and a new water pump. I called Canadian Tire Fairview for compensation. They basically did nothing. Don't visit Canadian Tire Fairview. Had Sam and the guys at Canadian Tire Burlington Mall install new tires and complete a premium synthetic oil change Rotella and K&N filter change last Thursday. Thoroughly impressed with the service and work. Was apprehensive of having them work on my 2024 Duramax Diesel but my concerns were stopped when I saw the care and follow-up they took to take care of the vehicle. All the data was input into the vehicles data logger and well done. Seat covers were used on my leather seats and all was good when I received the truck back. The only issue I saw was the incoming and outgoing kms were not recorded on the invoice. Good idea to note on your next service visit. The LOF sticker did make it to the window and very professional with next tire rotation and oil change kms. Well done Sammy, Sam, my advisor and the dealer for having all the key employees in place to service my vehicle. Now if I could get Goodyear to do a little better on the new tires rebate. $100 on $3,000 worth of tires is chincy on Goodyears part plus I have to do all the leg work. read more

I had a very disappointing experience today at Canadian Tire on Fairview in Burlington. Last week, I received a credit for a plant that died within a year. Today, I returned to purchase another plant worth over $150. Instead of being helped smoothly, I was forced to explain myself to four different staff members. I dealt mainly with Brad Gibson, who introduced himself as a manager. Rather than resolving the issue, he refused to provide a credit without contacting the other manager who had already approved it last week. He even admitted she was off and left me waiting until Monday. When I mentioned that Costco refunds items even without receipts (by looking up the debit/credit card), he dismissed it, saying, "That's why they make you buy a membership." I asked him for the head office phone number since Canadian Tire has pulled up my debit card before, but he would not help. He insisted that since the plant was "over one year old" and without a receipt, nothing could be done--though I know I bought it at regular price less than a year ago. The way I was treated came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I also felt discriminated against, as his tone changed noticeably toward me compared to other customers. I came here for my seasonal tire change. My appointment was at 8am and I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment. Parked the car in front of the service centre and went inside the service centre for check-in. The staff were nice and asked the right questions and gave me a timeline for when my car will be ready. The service centre is spacious and can provide service to at least 10 cars simultaneously. They also sell tires and rims in the centre. The waiting room has a TV and some couch for people waiting for their cars. During the working hours, you can do some shopping while waiting. It took about 75 minutes for my car to be ready and all I had to do was to come back for torch check. read more

I think Canadian Tire, Fairview St., is terrific. It is the modern day general store and almost anything except groceries can be bought there. The quality of goods is excellent and returning goods is fast and simple. All clerks are polite and helpful, although my one criticism is that perhaps there could be more of them in the store. I buy a lot of merchandise there from items for my dog to flowers, rugs, sheets, towels- just to name a few. Their hours are great too. This Auto Service Centre has proven to be the most mismanaged, incompetent and lazy CT centre I've done business with. Two weeks ago, all-weather I went in to talk to a representative about purchasing a new set of all weather tires for my car. We went through the entire invoice process and confirmed an appointment time. I was assured the tires I was purchasing through them would be ready for my appointment. On the day of my appointment, to find out that my invoice was nonexistent and my appointment was booked over. Frustrated at the time, I went through the process of buying the tires and booking an appointment again for the following week. Today I showed up for my 8am appointment, taking half the day off work unpaid. I was told that my car would be done in 2 - 2 1/2 hours. At 9:16 am, I got a call from the centre telling me that one of the tires I ordered was missing. Confused by this situation, I was told that they ordered a new tire to arrive for 11:30-12 later that morning. I had to inform my boss that my arriving to work at 1 pm would be tight and I'd keep him updated. Eventually, my car was finished in a record speedy time of 5 1/2 hours! All this time, I am waiting patiently in their customer waiting room. When it came to paying, I was expecting an apology and a break on my overall payment as a sign of good business and wanting to rectify the sh*t show that was my entire experience of doing business with them. That did not happen. I told the staff who I had been working with that I needed some sort of adjustment to the bill to account for my loss of time (and money incidentally), their negligence (not knowing where my tire was or properly inventorying my tires as they were dropped off by their supplier. The Manager couldn't comment on where the mistake happened, as he said that they don't count inventory as it comes into the shop.), mismanagement, and my dissatisfaction with the overall service. After initiating the conversation around getting a pay break, I was offered 25% off the alignment charge. This was a slap in the face. I said no, and the staff went back to his manager and came back with 40% off the alignment. Again, dissatisfied, considering this would only save me around $45 on a close to $1600 bill, I asked to speak to the manager. During the lengthy but mutually respectful conversation, I expressed my frustrations with the day's service and everything written above. Eventually, I had no choice but to take a 50% off the alignment charge, or they'd put on my winters, and I'd be out my $1000 deposit. Needless to say, I would never recommend anyone using this store's auto service. In fact, I won't be shopping there from now on. If you're looking for a tire change, find a Mr. Lube. They are very professional and offer a seasonal tire changeover in a fraction of the time that CT does. And for your other car needs, find yourself a locally-owned mechanic. I reckon that if the same situation happened at a smaller locally owned shop, the managers and owners would do whatever it would take to rectify the situation properly to ensure future business prospects with you. BE AWARE OF SOME PRACTICE AT THE CANADIAN TIRE! I have purchased here the rims and asked for the service to put the winter tires on them. I was shocked when I was told $ 160 for installing the tires on them and then EXTRA $ 60 to put them into my car. I have refused and I said that for that kind of money I will put them myself. But I think there is no option on that. Eventually this fee was waived but I was told next time I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. It is just another hidden service charge. I spent $ 650 on the rims (have of my pension cheque) and they requested for 3-4 minute job $ 60? I was told the technician must be paid. What? For 3-4 minutes job $ 60? It would come up to about $ 1,200 an hour. In the past 2 years when I was changing my tires there I was told I have small puncture in one of my tires. First time I have accepted this but every time when I was changing tires - the same thing a puncture. Sure, nobody would want have tires installed with the puncture. Every time I was charged extra $ 20 dollars. Today was my last that I visited this location of Canadian Tire. I am not sure if this situation is at every location of Canadian Tire or only here. I do not care their slogan " Canadian Company". Every company either American, Japanese or German employ Canadian workers, they pay Canadian taxes. Helpful, friendly, smart, courteous, honest, interesting - who just went over the top to help us with a bike we purchased today. Because he lives nearby, my brother took his car to Canadian Tire's automotive department at the Burlington Mall. They charged him $140 to tell him they couldn't fix his car because the motor was blown. My brother called a scrap company. The morning of the day they were to come fetch his car, he went to Canadian Tire to get the key to his car so that he could empty it before it was towed away. With four guys at the counter, he still had to wait 15 minutes. By the time my brother got to the counter, there was only one guy and he told my brother to go talk to a fellow in one of the offices. My brother stood that guy's door and was told it would be 5 minutes. (Remember, this is all just to get his key so that he could empty his car.) After 10 minutes, the first guy came over and asked if my brother had been served yet. The man in the office screamed, "I don't have time to deal with this bullsh!t! I'll be with you in 25 minutes." No one had even heard his simple request for his key yet! My brother expressed his reaction in no uncertain terms and left. Later, after waiting in the rain to meet the tow truck driver, he went back into the auto dept. Before he even got to the counter to ask for his key, the same guy who had been decidedly unhelpful that morning yelled, "What the hell do you want?" at him. "What is your problem?" my brother yelled back, "I just need my key." They refused to give him his key until he paid the $140. (Why couldn't they have explained that in the morning? Oh wait, they didn't even ask him what he needed in the morning.) He was going to pay the $140 once he'd cleaned out his car and got paid by the scrap company. So, impasse. Luckily the tow truck driver was able to pay him cash, so he was finally able to pay for his key and got free of Canadian Tire -- and he'll never be going back. Someone in management needs to go undercover to find out why so many people are having such terrible experiences in the Burlington Mall Canadian Tire automotive department! SIX stars, if I could. My 2007 Lexus RX350 had a gas line leak. After much searching, we discovered that the required part was not available in North America and would have to be imported from Japan. It would take at least 4 to 6 weeks to arrive. I didn't know that a Lexus was such a rare car. The manager, Mounir, and his mechanic actually made a part that was better than the original. I've taken my vehicle here twice... once to get it inspected when i moved back to Ontario from BC.. They wouldn't certify it with any tint in the front drivers and passenger windows... Fine... got it taken off for 80$... Came back... for the certificate. NOW... 4 months later... Same shop... No change to the vehicle... Selling it so need a safety... Tech says the from factory Tinted reverse lights that were on the vehicle the past 4 years... passing other inspections... are now illegal and won't pass me on the safety. This was such a good Canadian Tire auto location. When my daughter had issues with her vehicle we brought it here and the service was great. So for the past couple of years, we both began to bring our vehicles here for oil changes and routine maintenance. Canadian Tire auto does not have a great reputation, so this location was a breath of fresh air! I don't know what happened. First, a few months ago when I took my truck in for an oil change, they pointed out that the cabin air filter was missing. Since this Canadian Tire is the only place where I take my car for service, the filter had to have been pulled here. The paperwork I keep showed that it was supposedly on their checklist. No worries - they replaced it at no charge during the next oil change. But then, they lost my snow tires and rims. That's right: they lost them. There was a bit of a hassle and some inconvenient delays, but eventually they gave me new replacement tires and rims, though the guy who spoke to us acted like he was doing me a huge favour. But then, when we picked up the truck, the tire pressure was visibly low. When my daughter checked, the psi on all the tires was in the low 20s (rather than 32). We pointed that out and it was quickly remedied. A while later, in another vehicle, my daughter noticed that she was skidding badly in her winter tires - the ones that Canadian Tire had mounted. We checked: the psi was below 20, instead of 33. I don't know what's happened, but it seems they are no longer paying attention. read more

Horrible auto-service. I brought my car in after i had a cold start one morning. Auto-service found i needed to replace the battery. while i was at it i asked about a persistent O2 sensor issue, (gas milage issue) which ended up being a problem with my PCM and needed to be taken to the dealership.. a few mornings pass and i start rolling and find a flashing check engine light and multilple cylinder misfires... so i call them and open the conversation politely inquiring about their availability. to which "Ron" impatiently replied "For what?".. I Ignore this rudeness and carry on. I then took it back in after being patronized on the phone. only to be told they won't do anything until i see the dealer about the PCM... they then had the audacity to charge me 140 to read codes and tell me they can't do it. There was no mention of checking spark plugs or starter coils. I feel that my time was wasted and that I was robbed. read more

I should know better than to take my car to a Canadian Tire for service. But it seemed like a good idea, drop the car off, go to the mall to do some shopping. Big mistake. First they stripped out my drain plug and wanted to charge me for fixing it. Then 2 months later my oil light is coming on and I find out (from a proper garage this time) that they put the wrong oil filter on the car! And my wife just reminded me that this is the same Canadian Tire that did a "free tire rotation" with an oil change and ended up stripping one of the lugs while they did it. Have been shopping here for as long as I can remember. Bought a sander last year for my dad he never used never even opened so just went to return it and buy him something else. As it is a Masrercraft brand I did not think it would be an issue. They said this item has been discontinued. No return possible. I had bought on sale for $29.99 saved $30.00 off regular list price. Could have easily put back into stock on discount shelf. I am sure. Would have been nice if they took that extra little step. So just went to Lowe's and bought him a $89.00 saw instead. I would say Canadian tire as a whole has management problems Untrainned staff able only to read a computer and tell you what part link to what car Selling you low end quailty parts and a rised price. If you buy a battery and it fails They don't take your word of it. Protocol is to have you sit and wait or walk around while they "test" the battery before any refund and you must provide all papers (understandable) However after testing the battery myself i found a bad cell Nope still had to wait around 1 1/2hrs to find out the person doing the test finshed his shift and went home telling no one of the customer waiting. The test finshed with a red light ( bad ) And the person replacing him Did not know how to preform the test which was already done..Ohh and don't think for a moment the guys doing fixing your car are licecenced mechs They might have 1 in house but that doesnt mean he is on your car Canadian tire doesnt pay well to afford the worth of fully licecenced workers read more

I was with friends driving from Pickering to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a girls outing when my muffler dropped and started dragging along the QEW. We found the Burlington Mall Canadian Tire and the service was wonderful. Despite being a bit behind in their appointments they fit me in for an inspection and were straightforward in telling me that they might not be able to do anything. Not only were they able to fit me in, they were able to fix it and it took half the estimated time. Furthermore, having explained that I have been looking for a new car and didn't want to put money into this one, they shaved some of the cost off and got me back on the road without needing a tow. I had suspension work done less than 2 months ago and when it came time to putting on my snow tires, found the lug nuts so tight I couldn't get them off. I went to the shop and was told that they always torque the lug nuts. There is no way they were torqued. If I had a flat and was on the side of the road, I would've been stranded. I was told that after a couple months they do tend to seize up. Funny how after 6 months of taking the rear wheels off I had no problems. They only removed the front wheels. Terrible customer service in helping me out. Told me to sit and wait until the mechanic had his lunch. read more

There is a total disconnect between the employees who work at the the auto centre. When I was there last winter, some guy at the counter told me they'd replace my contaminated windshield fluid with a new batch that I provided them with, but the auto guy never did it. Then when I got my winter tires put on, I noticed the steering was different afterwards (less sensitive) so I called in and a lady said I should bring it in just in case the alignment was wrong. When I got there, some crabby old man gave me some unprofessional, anecdotal explanation about how that's normal because it always happens to his wife when SHE gets here tires changed. He refused and said if I wanted it looked at again, they'd charge me the cost of an alignment. They ended up not hoisting the car up, but just taking it for a test drive. Nothing was changed. To this day I'm still unhappy with the steering but can't afford to get it changed if they claim it's okay. read more
