The fudge sold here is the best I've ever tasted and what makes it even better is that it's all made in store. It's around £1.85 per 100g which in my opinion isn't a bad price for these sort of places. They also have gift boxes and small bags all ready done up. Last couple of times I've been here, I went for the £6 ready made bag. Sounds a tad pricey but at least you get a bit of every flavour in each bag. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has a sweet-tooth.

Thornton's are a big national brand in the confectionary game and their chocolate is always a winner if you're not sure what to buy someone for their birthday or as a stocking filler! It is very colourful in appearance and has all the qualities to drag a child in! There is one member of staff at the till to keep an eye out for those naughty ones trying to sneak a toffee or two in their mouths so I wouldn't advise! Sweets are quite reasonable in price compared to pick 'n' mix shops in touristy areas like the Albert Dock and the popular Odeon Cinema, so my best advice is to come here instead and bag yourself a treat.

I shouldn't? Okay. Its loads cheaper than the pick and mix at the cinema so stock up here if you're planning a visit to the nearby Odeon. They also sell canned and bottled of soft drinks but these are more difficult to sneak in your jacket pocket, unless you buy a huge overcoat but that might be expensive which defeats the point of buying your sweets here in the first place. So just pile in a load of your favourite sweets; jelly beans, space pencils. Oh right, the lists thing again. Sorry. Well let's just say they have more choice than you can shake a bouzouki at! A bouzouki; it's a Greek musical instrument, isn't it? Oh right, we're not doing the Greek thing either.

The pricing here seems slightly high for some products, especially given the fact it is an Outlet store, you won't be paying any less than what you'd pay in an average supermarket, you'd be expecting to pay the same price or maybe a little more in terms of items which are non-exclusive to this store. The queuing area did get a little messy, I would say the tills would have been better located at the back / front wall, rather than on the side as you go into the store, it didn't give much room at the checkout at all. The staff were friendly enough, I had to ask an employee on the shop floor for the price of an item, as some items strangely did have tags missing, meaning there was no obvious price on the item, nor on the shelf. 3* - A nice store and a decent addition to Cheshire Oaks, the layout could be better, the pricing could be more deserving of the "Outlet" name, but overall a nice enough store.

Oh yeah.. and it's nestled amongst over 140 other top name discount outlets! I loved visiting this shop as a kid as it meant you got loads more chocolate for your pocket money! It's only a small shop, but it stocks plenty of treats, including big bags of miss shapes and broken chocolate bars for around three quid! Another offer that they do is 500g of mini eggs for 1.99! It's great at Xmas or Easter to stock up on selection boxes and Easter eggs! Don't take the kids there at the start of the day if you want them to keep still whilst you're dragging them round the rest if the mall!

Walking around Manchester's NQ and in need of a sugar fix I decided to try BonBon for a hot…read morechocolate. The shop is tiny! Definitely couldn't swing a cat (not that I would do, or ever have done, that) but it has that unique and homely NQ feel that makes MCR amazing. It was busy, so we managed to grab a small table for 2 in the corner and peruse the chocolates on offer whilst we waited. I chose 4 little chocolates - pistachio, dark chocolate, salted caramel and a weird, yet lovely stilton truffle. At over £1 each for a small, round chocolate that can easily be swallowed in one, the chocolates aren't cheap here - but they are hand made by the lady owner on-site in the workshop in the back. The chocolates on display can be chosen and devoured in the shop like we did, or you can box them up to take away or box them up as a gift! I ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate and spent a while enjoying it and chatting away. The hot chocolates are made with 66% melted dark chocolate with water - and are all dairy free. They don't fill you up and don't lie heavy on your stomach later on in the day, it's just an excellent, chocolately sugar fix.

Other than that, it was a nice and warming esp for the frigid Manchester weather. It was nothing fancy but sometimes all you want is soothing chocolate to get-in-yo-bellllaayy! Drinks are around £3.50 and the chocolate bars vary in price but definitely a good idea for a brief chocolate indulging or simply as a nice gift.

There are some sweets that probably were first made/intervened a long time ago, but are still quite common even in big shops like Tesco and Asda. But there is a wide selection, and you can buy as much or as little as you like since it's done by weight. The walls of the shop are lined with various jars of sweets in all shapes, sizes, colours, and flavours.
