Mylonas and O'Callaghan Veterinary Hospital...28/11/27, My cat was very ill, took her too them just…read moreafter 9:00am... waited 10 minutes or so before I were seen, she was examined by a vet who had said..."she has clear eyes, nice gum color and no fluid in her lungs on having a viral infection"...he also said before that the tablets were better than the injected anti-biotic, but I explained that she/ Meeska would only throw-up the tab later-on, he repeated himself, she was than quickly treated with the antibiotics and something else as I forgot what he said...being I were worried about her..I than tried to explained if I needed abudget, but realising what I said...I than say that...it does not matter whatever needs to be done. After he/vet had said the injections are quite expensive?! I was told to bring-her-back if she got worse? I actually thought he was going to keep her in over-night with an IV, as he said her temp was already 41 degree, if it goes to 42 she'll die, As I said thats why I'm asking, as I dont know!" I pay my bill and left with the vet opening the door for me to exit the building, by 4:00pm (when they open again)...I immediately saw my cat was getting worse...I took her too them...I drove onto there lack of car space property...in a panic...I get-out of my car with no aggressive behavior or the use of profanity...so the nurses could see me through there counter window...a short in statured nurse with tied hair comes-out from opening the sliding glass-door (as no one is aloud to wait in the pet patient room... everyone is out side in the heat)...I say "she's got worse!" The vet nurse pauses to recognize me from earlier and replies " I'll put her in the...line...Ok!"...she then says " have to find somewhere to park your car, as other cars will be coming-in with there pets..." I did not know how to reply to that insensitive remark to my distraught state...as she quickly rushes back-inside...as I had also open my car door to check the state of my cat, moaning in agony in the heat...I suddenly looked at the least 6 or more people in-front of me...(Knowing if I stayed my cat/Meeska would be dead in minutes from the heat), who were obviously more concerned about there own situations... causing me to hammer-fist my car roof, looking at my cats worsening condition in the heat...I quickly...got back in my car and drove home...and placed my beloved cat onto the bath room tile floor and gave her a syringe of 20ml of water orally. 50 minutes later she was looking alright, so I went-out for an hour...but when I get-back home I found my beloved cat dead on the hall-way floor...I tried to resuscitate her through her nose...but her neck and front legs had already stiffen from the heat after only an hour....I still can not believe she is dead...I cried for over 2 hours!!! The vets themselves are very professional! PERSONEL REACTIONS: Despite there overal honesty, there self-honesty is lacking if they are unaware of their behavior? For some female staff that I've spoken too in the past and the recent events, it's now obvious, that some of the female vet nurses, have some major Gender-issues as seeing adult males...as aggressive and domineering to get what they want, with the mind-set of ape-man...the nurses gender-typeing is to self-victomise themselves at the expense of other's to justify provocative behavior of denial of your pet's needs and treating you as a ignorant-bafoon (General human behavior if observed). You can put this to the test by panicing and behaving helpless, or if you move unexpectedly with speed...they will see what they want to see...all in there own minds. They also assume you have no money, and try to get you to empathise with them, deglaring how expensive medications are awhile verbally trevialising the importance of your pet is too you without giving you the oppotunity to make other financial arrangements if need be in this direstraints situation. This is a warning to honest single males out-there who go to this vet buisness!!

Every morning I passed a man named his…read morebeautiful staffy'hairy legs' unfortunately the man was homeless with his dog at this time unable to financially pay for his dog to have his operation, that's when Sam the owner offered this man the care and treatment his dog needed without charge this is just one of the kind things Sam does he does go around in Sydney and offers this to unfortunate people who are living on the streets with their dog that is in need of treatment but they cannot afford pet insurance and definitely cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars for emergency surgery. Sam's piority to care for sick injured animals and he even goes above n beyond and makes the effort to offer his helping hand to those vulnerable people who cannot afford it themselves he wants the best for these animals so they live a full happy healthy life and his heart is phenomenal. I have never met a vet who has the biggest heart and goes way above his limits to help. When you walk into southern cross vet it feels like a family not just a veterinary clinic btw I have seen Hairy legs since Sam gave him chance to live a full life is a happy healthy dog and thanks to Sam can live a longer full filled life with its much loved owner who loves his dog dearly. Princess is her name and she was one of the clan (all black cats) that lived at the back of the fish market buildings by the overpass. Getting her into a cat carry cage to bring her home took close on a month, feisty as, claws and teeth everywhere all at once.....and then enticing her into the cage again (with a prawn, her favorite food) 6 months on to go to the vet, was another major terrifying experience for her and me. However, once on the examination table, the vet very calmly opened the top of the cage and gently lifted her onto the table...Princess just sat there totally at ease for the duration of the visit including vaccination, check up and manicure!!! It didn' even require me to hold her down, she just stayed in place for the whole time. Going back next week for her next manicure!!! and vax. Couldn't ask for more in a vet.

Dr Julian Smith is the second Vet I've met and I just know he is the one. He is warm , introduced himself and answered questions. Actually the information was overload but it shows his care for animals . Daffy was having a vaccination , worming tablet. He cut her nails and trimmed her hair , Front and Back !!!! Because I asked him to. All part of the Consultaion which was $107 . Before my appointment they asked me to bring in a stool sample from Daffy and I left with a little Blue Book for her to diarise her treatments . It's a community feel inside the waiting room. The receptionist is lovely. They sell dog kibble food that is produced by a local that other customers said was cheaper than the supermarkets . They care about animals over profits .

Faith had been constantly licking her feet, and Dr. Glen performed a very thorough examination to get to the bottom of it. So, I have been taking my furkid to these guys for the last 7 years…read more Only last week my fur man started to not eat so I took him in. Initial consultation and blood tests and other tests as well as antibiotics and food all came to a grand total of $506. Ouch, I know. But this is my furkid we're talking about - the money came out of my moving fund because you see, I'm moving tomorrow. I got a call from the vet yesterday saying I needed to take him back as he is extremely dehydrated to the point that the vet is concerned for his kidney's and that they may fail. Cue my hyperventilation. Being that I'm moving in a few days, the vet wanted me to bring him back in to be put on an IV to re-hydrate him to ensure his kidney's don't suffer. Sure no problem, however he refused to give me a quote on how much we're looking at because I wasn't sure how I could afford it without a payment plan. But the vet wouldn't do or offer anything apart from give me a guilt trip about how his kidney's are something that won't recover once injured. Gee thanks for the compassion and understanding. I've been a loyal customer for 7 years and just paid you a whole lot of money the day before. The least you could do after making me cry at work because you told me my cat's kidney's are going to fail and he's going to die is offer me some kind of payment plan so that I can bring him straight in as, in your words, "I classify it as a medical emergency". But no. You're heartlessness has cost you a loyal customer. If you're after a vet that cares, for the love of whatever gods you believe in, do not take your pet here.

They have onsite testing facilities, hospital & boarding. The vets there actually give a damn and offer top quality care to any pets that come in. They often go above and beyond what's expected when your pet isn't 100% - especially with my cat. Often I've had to go back in and they've been a total dream. They sell foods, treats, treatments, toys and a wide variety of items. They also sometimes have kittens and cats looking for homes inside the offices and have been known to take in strays that come calling that are sick. All around you couldn't ask for more from your vet here. They also offer payment plans if your pets treatment comes to a large sum so you can make payments as you go. Best ever.

I moved to a much better vet who corrected a medication one of mt dogs was on, when one of my dogs got sick recently and I needed to claim on their insurance Vineyard vet refused to pass on their old history, they are vindictive and unprofessional. Do not risk thinking you can establish a good relationship with this vet at a moment they can ban you, better to choose any other vet near to you, you would fare much better.
