Not sure why this place gets lower reviews... Alessandro is friendly. His family wine was wonderful and the meat and cheese laid out was all good. He even left us go.down and explore the old family wine cellar/cave. read more

I wish we'd had more time in Orvieto so we could have returned to Cantina Foresi. Incredible people, small space, and great people watching. The house cat was so friendly and jumped right up to my lap -- the server/main owner (I'm assuming he was the owner here) was embarrassed and apologized but there was no need. We opted for several glasses of wine, all expertly described and recommended by the owner. The antipasto of several cured meats, pecorino, truffle-encrusted cheese, and bread were a great complement to the glasses of wine. It's hard for me to believe there are so few reviews. Cantina Foresi was a great stop and I highly recommend visiting if you are in Orvieto -- and with so many cool sights, why aren't you already planning a visit? read more

We seemed to be intruding on staff wanting to close up. A very small pizza, made from a frozen base, a dry plate of meat and cheese, and some wine was charged at Euro 26, about twice as much as we would have paid anywhere else, and our 'hosts' seemed pained every time someone walked in the door.
