Based on personal experience going to school here. Dont let your kids go to this place. They have zero interest in setting your kids up with the knowledge and tools needed to be out in the real world after school. The kinds of people they hire on their staff. I mean for the longest time the art teacher was a burn out druggy lady that had no patience for her students, the amount of kids i knew who weren't trouble makers that'd constantly have issues with her as a teacher. The amount of times teachers have been busted having relationships with the students from this school should say it real loud for you. Ive seen principals come and go from this school and not one has changed anything for the better. The amount of nefarious activities that would go on in the bathrooms during class time, i never wanted to use the restrooms once at this school. Even the water fountain machines are gross. Often times you'd see floating on the top of the water fountain a big ole hunk of dip. Brings back memories to sitting in history class being told by the teacher that if a principal walked in to pretend to get up and act like we are learning something. He'd give us free A's just for pretending. Mean while dude would be slumped at his desk all class period. But what i was getting at was i sat in that class next to a kid every single day who would have a milk carton from the cafeteria and be steadily spitting dip into it right in front of everyone. Id never in a million years let my own child go to this school now that im a parent. I've personally made a goal to move away from this area by the time my daughter starts kindergarten just because i dont want her going to school in the comal isd in general but canyon lake high school is the worst. Mountain valley middle school is awful as well. And i know people out here with little ones in the grade schools who can report issues among the elementary schools as well. If you love your kid and want a bright future ahead of them do not let them attend school at this oppressive place! Ive only listed a small very tiny portion of some of the things that stood out to me while attending there. Theres literally too much to simply type out about this place. read more
