Getting a flat tire some 200 miles from home is a bit stressful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. An unusually careless auto shop. We visited for a flat repair -- the front desk manager seemed annoyed by our very presence. He refused to give us any sort of time estimate. Based on other reviews on this site, he appears to be consistently rude to whoever comes by. Eventually, they determined to that they didn't have the right tire in stock. So we picked up the car to drive to another auto shop, only to discover that they had failed to give us back the wheel! When one of us returned to pick up the missing wheel, the front desk manager gave us the wrong one. It was only thanks to one of the shop workers that we discovered the error. All and all, our visit was worse than a complete waste of time. Based on the other reviews here, a bad experience at this shop seems to be par for the course. read more

watch out they talked me into 4 new tires when I only needed 2 my daughter bought 2 last year and all I orginally asked them to do was take snow tires off and put the tires I brought on . I went over and they showed me a worn tire but not the 2 good ones. So it should have been $600 not $1200 I will never go there again. read more

I had 4 tires installed. When I came to pick up my car they told me my battery was dead and they wanted to sell me a new one. They had run the accessories without the engine being on. They had to jump the car to get it started. I declined the new battery and drove to my service station. They checked the battery and it was fine. The staff at Cape and Islands tire were rude and dismissive when I tried to get more info on why they wanted me to buy a new battery. Will not be going back. read more

I was experiencing a nail in my driver's side rear tire. Derek and the boys are incredible. From the moment on the phone, to when you walk in the door how conscientious and inviting they are is pretty remarkable especially when you aren't in the best of circumstances it's definitely much appreciated and did not go unnoticed. Derek and the boys made the process so easy. They took my info, took my car key and told me they'll try to salvage the tire and will ring me with further information. They called me within half hour letting me know that the nail hit the tire in the perfect way that I would need a replacement and in another 15 minutes my car was ready for pickup. I will never go anywhere else for tires! The gentlemen who I spoke with first told me my tire had a puncture on the inside of my tire and it couldn't be repaired. He ordered a tire for me and it was there the next day. Everyone that I spoke to was very nice especially the one I met first. My new tire was put on fast and the price was a lot less than I expected. I left there very happy and the guy who brought my car out was hilarious! Such a great place, and a pleasant experience from start to finish. I won't even be upset if I blow out a tire lol ....and have to go back. Thank you guys! read more

Shop guys are great in Orleans. Derek at front desk has an attitude right off bat. Misunderstood tire I wanted. And was pissed off when he had to requote actual tire I wanted. And blamed me for giving him wrong tire model. Wouldn't get involved to call tire warranty provider. "We don't do warranty's" Then TPMS had fault code. When I brought it back, Derek's immediate response was "we fix tires, we don't fix TPMS systems". Shop guys were much more helpful and nice. Also found they nicked my painted rim. If you can wait to get off Cape to fix...do it. Attitude was horrible. And this was all after buying 4 new tires! read more

Cape & Island tire... The worse place to go for anything tire, Derek is so rude on the phone and in person. I had a nail in my tire, had my car towed there 8:30am , stop in at 2pm, car was not looked at yet, got a call around 3:30 pm saying I needed a new tire, I asked why? They said the tire can't be fixed, I was hesitant but I needed my car for work, so I said go ahead, but I need my tire u took off my car,when I arrived paid for the new tire and asked for my old tire it was no where insight, I insisted I need my tire so they went somewhere behind the building and returned it to me, I took the same tire that had the nail to repair and it was done and back on my car, now I asked to return the new tire and they refused. I didn't need a new tire in the first place, but because I am a woman I was taken advantage of. And I plan to take this further. read more

First they sold my daughter a tire and did not put the lug nuts on. She left the store with my grandchildren and had to stop when the tire became wobbly. Fluke? maybe, it's what my daughter thought. Now they sold her another tire and broke the tire pressure sensor and told her it wasn't their problem without even looking at the tire and told her she had to go to the dealer. She called the dealer and guess what! it's a tire problem! They dismiss her because she is young and a woman. I cannot express enough!!! If you are a woman alone do not go to this store!! Got a flat while I was up here at the Cape which is kind of a drag because we only have only one car up here and lots of plans. Also getting a rental these days is impossible. So we [barely] made it home and had AAA come out and put on the donut last night. Wasn't sure based on the issue if it could be patched or if it needed new tires. Went to Cape & Islands Tire because I knew about them from having driven by many times and they were open on Saturdays. So I got there at 8am when they opened and he said he had to take the tire off to see if it could be repaired and they were very busy. An hour later he called and said it was fixable and come down and he would put the repaired tire back on for me. An hour later I was out there and my tire was fixed and and installed all for $35. So I am a happy customer and I'm now at the beach and my car os all fixed! read more

Bought 4 new tires there in October 2023. Folks behind the counter were not particularly helpful, but they got the job done. Discovered my tires out of balance about a month later. Went back and they didn't have time for me. Went to another shop where they told me all 4 tires were out of balance. They said very likely they were never balanced properly. Went back to Cape and Islands to complain and they yelled at me. Won't be going back there anytime soon. I think the tires I bought there are okay, but they were very rude, can't make an appointment, don't do alignments, don't sell road hazard coverage. There are plenty of other places on the Cape to get tires. read more

We stopped by Cape & Islands tire on the day we were traveling 2 hours home because air was slowly leaking out of one of our tires. We were told we'd have a two-hour wait but since we have a toddler and were trying to get home quickly, they agreed to look at it to see if it'd be safe to drive home on. They found a small screw in one of our tires, topped it off with air, and wouldn't take any money from us for their professional advice. We were really appreciative of their service and flexibility with us and wouldn't hesitate to come to them with any tire troubles the next time we're on the cape. read more

Great friendly service. I had a slow leak in one tire and was worried about the condition of my other tires (dry rot) for my return trip from our vacation on the cape. So I decided to have all four tires replaced. Cape & Islands Tire did this at a very fair price. The counter men had a great sense of humor and the tires were replaced quickly. Zero star rating is what I wanted.... Had a slow leak in my drivers side rear tire and have my own compressor and tire gauge so check my tires regularly. The tire pressure light came on so I check all the tires and found that one was down 20 pounds. Told "Derek with an attitude" I had a slow leak in the drivers side rear tire. He calls me in and tells me that I have a huge chunk of metal in my tire and I have to buy two new tires. I said "Show me the metal so I can figure out where I may have picked it up as I do construction." So I go around to see that they have taken off the wrong tire that had no leaks and showed me a small staple in the thick part of the tread. I said " First of all this tire is not leaking and they put water on the staple and sure enough no leaks." Told "Derek with an attitude" to put my tire back on and took it to George's Auto Repair in Brewster on Thad Ellis and got excellent courteous service and bought no new tires. This is the second summer I've had to get a new tire from Cape and Islands Tire in Orleans. For some reason the exact tire is tough to get but they went out of the their way to track down the correct tire and get me in the next day for replacement. They were great at communicating with me as I was starting to search off cape for the tire. They had me in and out in an hour. Service with a smile And very courteous. Highly recommended. read more

Great folks! My mom had a tire on her Subaru that was constantly deflating. I suggested that she take it to a tire shop to see if there was something else wrong with the tire. We read excellent reviews about Cape & Islands tire and she went in to have them look at it. Sure enough they examined her tires and found that there was a nail embedded in one of them. I brought my car in today to have a slow leak in one tire looked at. When they were done looking at my car, the rude front desk guy told me "you need 4 new tires. They are bald, bald, bald" My car has only 36K miles on it so I asked how much and he said $105 per tire. I asked if it would pass inspection, and he said "no way". I then asked again how much per tire, and he actually said "what did I just say?" I declined the work and drove to the inspection station directly. One would think that when you bring your car to an establishment that only deals with tires they would have a clue of how to install them and fix any problem before putting on new tires. I spent $800 for new tires, not only were the men at the counter Rude they did not fix the problem with the valve on one of the tires and put them back on wrong and messed up the wheel sensor board in the car. Every time I went back to have them fix the problem I got the same attitude and no help, they apparently don't believe that Females know what they are talking about. Great service! The tire for a 2012 Yaris is hard to find, but they had one in stock. The CIT team quickly mounted it and rebalanced the tires before closing at noon on a Saturday. And the price was $50 less than what the Toyota dealer would have charged. Thanks Joe! read more

Bought two new tires two days ago. They changed the tires and I paid. Headed home, 20 minute ride down the highway at speed up to 60 mph. Got off the highway to run some errands. Started hearing noises coming from the front. Thought the tires might have a defect, bubble or maybe alignment was off. Got home, did a visual inspection, nothing. Checked the left front tire bolts. All four bolts were loose! They had simply been hand tightened on. That's why the wheel was shaking. Could have come off going 60 mph. Bolts were starting to come off! This is tire changing 101, use the torque gun and tighten them, then double check. Never going there again and won't recommend them to anyone. Called the manager, no apology, simply said bring the car in and they will tighten the nuts. You are putting your life in their hands. read more

i went here for many years but my most recent interaction with them was so bad. the counter man was very rude & they gave many excuses why i couldn't get a new tire free under the manufacturer's warranty. i had to contact the manufacturer directly to get the process started. a couple of days ago, i had a problem with another tire & went to cape tire instead - they were wonderful to deal with & i will never return to cape & islands tire again, despite living close by. read more

These guys were fantastic. I needed my snow tires swapped for summer tires and they were able to get it done in 45 mins flat on a busy Saturday morning. After I was told by another local tire shop the wait would be the entire day, I simply brought my car here without an appointment, they gave me very friendly local service with zero attitude. Their prices were great too - $25 a tire which is excellent for a remote small town. I'll be back next winter! read more

Tourists beware! We had a nail puncture, and two locals recommended this place. The manager told us that the tire had been plugged before (true) and now had four problem areas, which they circled in chalk. They said the tire could not be fixed and that they would have to order a replacement for $180 plus labor. They asked if we were staying in a place with a clamshell driveway, and said this type of driveway causes punctures. We got suspicious, since everyone on the Cape has clamshell driveways, and because they nervously asked if we were going to take the tire with us. Long story short, we took the tire to another garage, where they told us the circled areas showed only normal wear. 30 minutes and $20 later, we had a new plug and have been driving around just fine. My guess is that they treat the locals well but rip off the tourists. That business model worked better before Yelp, guys. read more
