After trusting them with our tax return, they failed to complete it correctly -- a mistake that has still not been addressed or corrected eight months later. Despite repeated emails and phone calls, we've received nothing but silence, excuses, and broken promises. JR is never available, rarely in the office, and now sends my calls straight to voicemail after yet another missed commitment two weeks ago. Completely unprofessional. My husband and I had an amazing CPA for over a decade in Colorado but unfortunately she passed away. When we first moved back to Texas, we were still using the same company in Colorado but unfortunately, the services weren't the same. We researched online and found JR about five years ago. I was nervous because I didn't know if he would be as good as our former CPA. I met with him in person and after speaking with him and asking many questions, I was satisfied that we made the right choice. JR and his staff are very professional, efficient, and reliable. I have never had to make calls out of the ordinary for updates on our taxes. If they are missing documents or have questions, they have always contacted me by phone and/or email. We started working with JR 3 years ago. At that time I would have given him 5 stars like many other people that posted reviews in that time frame. Not anymore!! If you take notice - all of the reviews in the last year are 1 star. I would strongly encourage anybody that is considering working with JR to run the other way immediately. It takes a lot for me to leave a 1 star review - but the lack of professionalism and communication from JR is truly astonishing. I filed my 2022 taxes with this company and it has been the most disastrous experience of all time. We signed our e-filed taxes on June 2 and I still have yet to receive my return or a follow up from JRG. I have called on 3 separate occasions and each time, no one seems to know what is going on. After 5 month of no contact from them, I had to call them yet again, and now the excuse is "oh we had trouble e-filing your return due to an error from the IRS, so we had to mail in your return". UGGGHHH really, no phone call, no email, no carrier pigeon...NOTHING from them. If you are researching this company before working with them...please don't walk, run away as quickly as you can. I made an error on 2021 taxes. Received an IRS notice of much money due!!!! Have been getting the run around since May from JRG, how busy JR is and will get back to me. JRG amended return, I questioned it. OOPS, they amended it again, I questioned it. OMG, still does not include what the IRS is looking for. I have reached out to the company I work for CPA to clean my mess up in a timely manner. Don't use JRG!!! All you get is the receptionist, they check the log, and say some one will call or get back to you. NEVER DO!!! read more

Terrible experience. They gave me the run-around for over a year on many pending items with the IRS and programs they said over and over again they would take care of. I went on to hire their bookkeeping service as well and until I realized I was paying a monthly fee 3 months in, they had never even touched my books! They kept saying yes and wouldn't fix any of it. JR and his team made me run from pillar to post for about 3 to 4 months last year for my tax return. They make the silliest of mistakes and to get it corrected one has to deal with the front desk staff who only make appointments which are 3 weeks out. They claim JR is extremely busy and will get back with corrections. But it never happened. I had to hand hold JR and his team towards correcting the mistakes they made. I wish I can give Zero stars to this team. Refrain from using them or be ready to deal with your taxes for the next 5 to 6 months, even at the end of which you don't know if you filed it right or wrong. read more

I found JR on a Yelp search almost a year ago, and I have now referred him to 2 close friends/family members of mine. He is very easy to get along with and makes me feel extremely comfortable in asking my constant questions regarding all things tax related. JR is good with your basic returns but if you need help with fighting the IRS when they try to screw you over, don't count on JR to be helpful. He apparently relies on whatever transcripts the IRS sends him and doesn't even bother spending time with his client to go over it with them. He also likes to do everything by email and getting him to call you back is impossible. He also has the receptionist and someone by the name off Casey (who isn't an accountant) relay messages pertaining to my taxes....that doesn't seem too ethical. Granted I had some back taxes that needed to be paid but whatever records I provided (letters from the IRS) with conflicting statements to the transcript has been ignored. I've regretfully referred people I know to him. Now I have to tell them what fiasco I went through and to find another accountant. So infuriating! read more
