I contacted Capital Landscape and Construction to have an estimate too have my driveway replaced. The owner of the company came out to give the estimate. I expressed my concerns about my truck, which is a heavy duty truck that weighs 10,000 pounds. I requested a road asphalt be used to be able to handle the extra weight. I was told and it was written on the quote sheet that I would receive an 18" base with a geotextile material and 2" of HL3 fine asphalt and this would be good for my situation. I trusted his opinion as most people would do after all what would I know about paving driveways. When the driveway was being done I never saw the 18" base being replaced or when considered. I also didn't see any geotextile matting or film being laid and I now believe I didn't receive HL3 fine asphalt or road grade asphalt. When the job was done we were told to not park on the driveway for 2 weeks and we didn't. I was also told to rotate our vehicles around in our driveway until the cold weather comes to allow the asphalt to cure which we did and are still doing almost two years later. In the spring of 2017 we noticed there was now pot holes or divots everywhere my heavy duty truck has been parked. I had some landscaping and interlock done recently and the company asked what was with the asphalt they couldn't even put anything on it because it was so soft. In fact the asphalt is so soft the tire of my motorcycle will even leave a mark. We can not place anything on it without it making a mark in it. This is very disappointing. We have 4 cars and 4 motorcycles in our family we can't leave anything on our driveway for any extended time. I have contacted capital Landscape and Construction on several occasions. The first conversation I called the owner and he answered. I explained to him I wanted some more work done and I wanted him to take a look at my driveway because I had some concerns. He said he would drive by and take a look. I told him I would like to be present at the time and he took my cell number. I waited a week and never heard back from him. I called again a few more times and left my name number and address with no response. I then emailed him expressing my concerns thinking email might be the preferred way to communicate with no response. On the quote there is a 2 year workmanship guarantee/warranty I requested for him to come and look because I believe there is clearly an issue with either the base preparation or a inferior asphalt either way I believe the guarantee/warranty should cover something. Beware of this guy!!! read more
