Professional, efficient service that did a good job in replacing some tires and executing the job quite quickly. Everyone seems quite experienced and businesslike. This was to get some new tires put on and rotating some existing tires to the front. They did it in 2-3 hours, which is good. I wasn't waiting there, but they sent a text when it was done. Since this was covered as a CPO issue, I didn't have to pay, so can't comment on value. The area is under renovation now, so while things aren't "pretty", what matters is how well the job is done, and they did a good job there. The Saturday crew needs a serious reality check on basic customer service. I walked in to pick up a part, and not a single agent at the front even looked up from their computer. Thinking I might have better luck at the parts desk, I walked to the back and stood there waiting. Again, I was completely ignored. I eventually had to ring the bell just to get someone to acknowledge I was there. The employee came out from the back, where he had been laughing and joking around, looking visibly annoyed that he had to do his job. I actually felt like I had to apologize for "interrupting" his fun just to pick up my order. Customer service is clearly a lost art with this specific crew. If you're looking for a professional experience, I'd suggest going somewhere entirely. read more

There are two service lanes and one should arrive 15 minutes before an appointment to get checked in. Simply pull up and wait for someone to check you in. Nick was stellar in assisting me with check-in, obtaining a loaner car, and checking out, including payment. There is a sign indicating a 3% surcharge for credit card use, so bring cash or debit card. They offer complimentary car washes upon request at check-in when you get your car serviced. The parts department was also very helpful. The gentlemen helped me install a cargo net (simple, I know). There is a comfortable waiting room with leather chairs and some refreshments. The premises appeared clean. An area of improvement would be to place protective seat cover and paper mat when receiving or handling the vehicle. read more

I would like to make a shout out to Melissa Olson, my service advisor. I went to both south bay Mazda dealers for a quote to replace a door lock cylinder. Melissa was very knowledgeable about the required service, quoted the appropriate time and additionally pursued getting a parts quote. This was a dramatically different experience from the other dealership, whose service advisor vacillated on the level of effort and quoted me 3x the labor based on disassembling the door (not needed) as well as specifying additional parts not needed. The advisor also "abandoned" me as far as getting the part quote, leaving me to get the VIN number again and explaining the ask at that department. Based on that experience, I chose Capitol Mazda for the service which was completed as quoted. Melissa reviewed with me additional services recommendations and straightforwardly answered my questions. Customer service received here used to be great. I've been a customer for the last 4+ years since I purchased my car. I kept coming back for the advisors alone but most of them are gone now. One day I came to pick up my car on a Saturday and felt like I was a nuisance to her, making her work on the weekend. The car service has gone down as well. I get a video of my car with all the things they suggest I fix, but don't actually need fixing. My air filter doesn't smell like it's been changed. The carwash has been broken forever or they just don't want to wash and dry it. They only washed my car after the first service after purchase. What's more frustrating is I cannot reserve a loaner at all. I have to call every hour the day before and the day of only to get "you just have to hope there's one available when you drop it off." In an hour??!! You want me to HOPE it's there and that I can continue my day? How would you like it if I said that to you? I can't take time out of my work day just to make sure there's a loaner. It used to be a lot easier to reserve a loaner, I could call days in advance, but now it's impossible. I'll be taking it to Stevens Creek from now on. read more

First off, let me say this to the consumers reading: beware of this business. They will try to swindle you and con you out of your money every time you come in. Let me give you examples. Second, this part is also for management. I'd like to go over two separate incidents. On the first incident, I came in for a routine oil change under my prepaid maintenance plan. The service associate later approached me on the waiting room and told me the latch that opens the hood was "broken" and that it would cost $1,200 to fix. I then called him out on his lies and asked for the manager. The "broken" latch was then fixed for free and I later returned and told the manager in a private meeting that I'm not an idiot and it that, even if the latch was broken, it would not cost $1,200 to fix. He told me labor was a portion of the cost. But since the service associate told me it would take 2 hours to fix, I asked if the service workers are making $550 an hour (more than a CEO at a Fortune 500 company). It was clearly a bogus and fraudulent fee and I warned the manager that if they ever tried to pull this kind of thing again I would hold the business accountable in a Yelp review. Yesterday I came in for another routine oil change. I was dreading hearing about whatever bogus charge they were going to try this time. So sure enough, the service associate prints out a list of my recommended services, totaling about $1,700, and I reminded her that I have a prepaid maintenance plan. She then came back with a $0 estimate. Needless to say there was no mention of my prepaid maintenance plan prior to asking me to pay them $1,700. If I was an elderly person they could have easily taken advantage of me. In a nutshell the business is very unethical and not to be trusted. I have to hold then accountable since I already warned the manager that I would do so during my last visit. To management: I'd like the fraudulent activity to stop. If you try any blatant fraudulent charges again I'm going to get the police involved. To consumers: don't trust them. Keep records and be on guard every time you go. read more

Their service center is always attentive, clean, and fast. It is so easy to schedule appointments with them. I always receive my car back on-time, if not earlier than the estimated time. They take videos of your car to show you how your tires look or to share anything that needs your attention. The front desk is always courteous. Eugenia helped me today and she was such a delight. For the quality of service, I would rate the Capitol Mazda service center a 5/5. The only reason that my overall rating is a 4 is because, like most car dealerships, their labor pricing is veryyy high. I got the 5 year maintenance plan when I purchased the car back in 2019. So since then, I've only taken my car in for the bare minimum oil changes. I very rarely added extra services like 4 wheel alignment (which costed me $180 in 2023 and $200 in 2024). Sometimes they will email you service coupons that are good through the end of the month, so be on the look out for $15 or $20 off coupons. Anything helps when the prices are this steep! read more

Last week my TPMS lights came on and I made an appointment for this past Tuesday 8/20/24 8 A.M. I was greeted by James who was very polite and welcoming. He found my appointment and got me situated. Later on in the day we spoke and he said the tech needed more time to diagnose my issue. I went back to the dealership to get a loaner. I've been to both and will say that Capitol Mazda is my top choice as they consistently have loaners and their staff provide updates as my car is getting serviced. Recently I was stuck in traffic trying to pick up my car and get the loaner back before 5pm (their closing time). Melissa stayed 15 minutes past her shift to accommodate me. She was so understanding, communicative and went above and beyond to help me out, knowing that running late was out of my control. I bought my car new at Capitol Mazda in 2018. I have also done the maintenance there each year. Up to now I was satisfied. My last service (30K service) was a disaster. First they oversold me on service that was not scheduled per their web site. Next they did not bleed the brakes properly and the car was almost undriveable. Also they did not perform the 4 wheel alignment that was part of the service package. A week later I still have not received the refund for the alignment that was not performed. Really disappointed at a dealership that had previously done well. New management?? Oh, the service manager will not pick up the phone. So, here I am on social media. I am not coming back. 06/26/2024 Update: I was finally contacted by the service manager today. Apparently, there was a massive network issue which compromised their transactions and communications. I was assured that my refund is being processed. I am satisfied now that they are taking the appropriate steps to resolve my main concern. This seems to be an issue outside of their control. Bought car new from them and that wasn't the greatest experience, but that's probably the same with car dealer in general. Recently had car serviced there and not long after I hear a noise that turns into a really worrying knocking. I called the service department with a question before I made an appointment to take it in, but the person in the service department who answered the phone wouldn't take the question because I needed to speak to a "service advisor". I was told that one would call me back (30 hours later and I am still waiting). I took it to a mechanic and learned that my back wheel was so loose it was close to coming off, which is obviously terrifying and dangerous. Why? Because it wasn't properly secured when it was last serviced (wheel hasn't been touched since). I wouldn't go back to that place if they gave me a new car. No way. read more

Came to this service center because my Mazda3 Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) was not working properly. The technicians found out that the BSM sensor had been incorrectly installed by the body shop during their repair of my rear bumper after a collision, so they had to remove the rear bumper to reinstall and calibrate the sensor. While I appreciated their efforts to fix the BSM, I was very disappointed when I noticed an obvious bumper gap that did not exist prior to the service. I had to return to the service center to have them address this issue. After waiting for an hour, they told me that the bumper gap was there already and not a result of their work. That's not true. I am certain the gap was not that big before I brought my car in. But they kept blaming on the previous body shop repair and refused to take any responsibility. The service advisor, James Miller, even admitted that THE GAP WAS NOT NORMAL. Just to make sure, I also asked a manager from another Mazda dealership that I've known for years. He confirmed that the gap on my car was bigger than it should be. Then I asked to speak with the manager. What's more ridiculous was that the manager showed me another new 2023 Mazda3, and said "See, the Mazda3 I have here also has the same bumper gap." But the bumper gap on my car was obviously bigger, and the manager just kept insisting they're the same and refused to do anything about it. (The white car is mine after the service, and the red car is the one the manager showed me.) It's sarcastic that James admitted that the bumper gap on my car was not normal, and it's not suppose to be like that, but then the manager insisted that their Mazda3 also had the same gap. This is like slapping themselves in the face. Are they implying that their new cars are not normal?? I was initially relieved that the BSM was fixed, but how the issue was handled was just unacceptable. Very disappointing. read more

Just had my 60k work done on my CX9 and all went well. I called and got my appointment for next day. Luckily there was an available loaner car ( yay! thanks Dennis for double checking on that) and my service advisor took a couple of things off my 60k that did not need to be done so lessen the cost of that. It was expensive but since I believe in maintenance to prevent bigger problems it was doable. I do recommend them for both buying a vehicle and for servicing that vehicle. We have been loyal customers, we have 3 Mazda cc5's. We have had all of services at Capitol. My daughter was told she needed to have a rear brake job within a month! She went to Country Automotive in Morgan Hill, they did a complete inspection.. my daughter does NOT need new brakes . She has probably two more years away from needing a brake job based on the measurements of the brake pad. After this finding of how dishonest Capitol Mazda service was, we will not be back. Great customer service. It was super easy to make a maintenance appointment online and also easy to modify last minute. It was my first time there and I wasn't bothered by any new customer paperwork. Jeff got me signed in quickly, gave me estimates on the timing, and gave me constant updates. I traded my Nissan for Mazda. I never missed my Pathfinder a bit. In fact, I only want Mazda for an upgrade. I've driven Lexus RX but their employees are nothing compared to Capitol Mazda. I bought extended warranty and it's such a huge benefit. Time saving, good value. Service crew is very efficient. Jeff takes care of my car, he understands what needs to be done or fixed. The mechanics also do a thorough job, and best part is my car is always clean coming out of their parking lot. My only complaint is and has been, the waiting room. I'm very sure DGDG can do better job appreciating loyal customers. The room is too small and so depressing. The cubicle for customers with laptop, only serves for 4.
