Called owners realtor and he said the owner has acknowledged the debt and veg will pay it. 2 weeks later got another letter from these "attorneys" and now the debt is 23K with late fees and interest and if WE don't pay it they are going to auction off our house that we bought. By the way we are new to Tennessee and thought what a bunch crazy people. So thank goodness for title insurance. They paid this debt and are going after the previous owner. My question is this, attorneys !!!! Why couldn't you go after the owner of the debt since 2012???? Why would you do that to a couple that just moved here? Seriously. We did and again no response for a few days. Then we get a counter offer. We accepted the counter and signed that paperwork. Again no response until the final hour with "you are second". Like what?? We just accepted your counter offer and now we are told we are second in line? We immediately withdrew our offer. Within minutes we received an email saying "that was fast lol". This listing agent is shady, unprofessional, unreliable, unresponsive and I feel for the seller because that person just lost out on a cash sale. Oh and now that property is back on the market.
