It's just your neighborhood pizza joint. Nothing fancy just pizza and a couple of hero's on the menu. There's sporadic parking outside, it is more of the kind of place you walk to, and get takeout there. There are three tables with about 10 seats altogether. We're not talking to Michelin stars here. I can't stay away from delicious pizza. This pizzeria is a no frills establishment that focuses on its pizza. Come and talk to Frank, the owner and pizza maker and he will explain the style of Italian pizza. Down the road there are others but none like Capri. Fact: while in wildwood NJ, met someone that said, have you been to Capri in Yonkers? The best pizza hands down. Thus why im using that too. Saw the reviews and gave it a try... Ordered a large cheese pie , and eggplant hero, ( eggplant hero isn't on the menu ) but Frankie as everyone affectionately called him as they walked in and ordered said was possible. Bad idea , the Eggplant hero was oil on bread, not good at all.. the pizza was ok. Frankie made everything fresh. But then I saw a fly flying around and landing on the pies that was pre made. I recently heard about the Sicilian pizza being really good here. Decided to order a Sicilian pie. It was excellent. It was a thick heavy pie. The gravy and cheese had so much flavor. I've been to a lot of pizzerias in the Bronx and throughout all of Westchester, but this was the best Sicilian I've had. It's a small local joint that looks to have been around for a long time. An old school pizzeria. I will try the regular pie and calzones there at a later time. But it's definitely worth a visit for the Sicilian. read more

I always remember the great pizza at Capri, though I was disappointed when reading another Yelper's review to learn that there's not an "army of Mexicans" working there. Apparently, according to this Yelper, pizza joints are "over taken [sic] and run by Mexicans." I am fascinated by this, and I have questions. How many constitute an army? And how do they overtake pizza places? Do just a few show up and then lay eggs or something? I think that this Yelper owes the rest of us some answers. But I want to assure you that he doesn't mean any of that in a "racist" way. He said as much. He just thinks that all brown people who speak Spanish are Mexican, and certainly there's nothing racist about that. I do want to point out that to the best of my knowledge, Capri does not endorse those sentiments. It's just tasty pizza in a friendly neighborhood place. So if you're looking for an army of Mexicans, I'm afraid that you'll have to look elsewhere. read more

I've been coming to Capri for about almost a decade. It's in a sleep town of Bryn Mawr, Yonkers. A very quiet and local neighborhood with about 2-3 other pizza joints in the area. It's a local staple and has been around for a few decades. It's an easy to miss joint since it doesn't captivate your attention with any fancy signs or awnings and sits next to a chocolate store that has funky hours. The decor is nothing to write home about at all but that's also the real charm of it in my opinion. When you step in, it feels like nothing has changed since the 70's. It's small, it has an old, dated, 70's decor , with a bulky ass TV dangling above the fridge. You step in and you can see lots of locals--a lot of times working class men--who come here (and have been coming here for a long time) and talk shit and chop it up with each other and the owner. There's a sense of familiarity when you come here. The place is usually run and manned by one person, a guy named Frank. An Italian guy, not an army of Mexicans. I know that will probably get me in hot water but I don't mean this in a "racist" way. It's just nice to have some authenticity. A lot of pizza joints nowadays are over taken and run by Mexicans and you, the reader, can't even deny this. Everyone would be complaining if Mexican joints were run by a bunch of White "Becky and Toms". You, the reader, know this is true too. So to have an old school Italian guy run a pizza joint, and have that dated feel, it's pretty refreshing to see nowadays. Okay, now for the MOST important part; the pizza. I can honestly say this is one of the better pizza joints I've been to anywhere in the New York metropolitan area. The pizza is pretty thick, nice and soft, not too greasy at all and the sauce taste pretty different (in a good way) to other pizza joints. It goes down nice and feels fulfilling. I don't feel like a fat, guilty tub of lard. Definitely different than so many run-of-the-mill pizza joints out there. I also want to add that the garlic knots and Sicilian slices are also off-the-hook. The pizza is always made fresh and from scratch as well. Nothing is left over night. If you happen to be in the area, then you must come here. If you're a true pizza aficionado, live in the boroughs and don't mind the travel for some good pizza, then make the trip hither. If you have a car, then you'll find your way. If are coming via public transportation anywhere you are in the city; then take the Metro North to Bronxville station and take the number 30 bus (YONKERS BOUND) to Lockwood Ave and it will drop you literally in front of the Pizza shop. If you're coming from the Yonkers Metro North station, look for the number 30 bus (Bronxville and/or New Rochelle bound) somewhere in the vicinity and it'll drop you off in front of this triangle memorial park and directly across the street from Capri pizza. Either way, definitely fulfill your pizza taste buds and give this place a shot. read more

Pretty good pizza. It was just really thick. I kind of got tired chewing after a while because of how thick it was. If you like doughy pizza, then this place is for you. I thought the sauce and cheese were the perfect amount (I love cheese), but my mom thought that there could have been more sauce. Overall, a decent slice. read more

Capri Pizza is hidden off the beaten path for most visitors to Yonkers. It's an old pizza place which I was told is a family busy passed down from parents to their son. I order a plain pie for myself and guys at work who said that the pizza was really good. The pizza was definitely well made and delicious. I personally didn't think it was anything super special and not my ideal type of pizza. The slice was vary doughy and heavy. Probably the heaviest pizza I've ever carried and it was very noticeable the second I picked the box up. Although it was a heavy pizza, it was actually cooked very well and the crust was crunchy and tasty. I feel it was enough dough for 2 pizzas lol. If I did ever go back I would ask for it to be made thin and with extra cheese. As the sauce to cheese ratio wasn't my ideal. Although not my favorite, not bad pizza at all.
