First off, the service was incredible. Our waitress was Cher, and she was an absolute delight! She was in charge of our party of around 20 people and she juggled all of us while maintaining such a positive and happy attitude. As for the food, it tasted average. It had the right amount of flavors and it's classic American food so no complaints. The marg tasted a bit weaker than I would've liked when looking at the price of it. Absolutely disappointing and disgusting. All of the food tasted like it came out of a freezer bag and was not fresh. The drinks were okay but not very strong at all. Good food, good service and a great Texas atmosphere. We met up with another couple here at peak dinner hour on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The environment was rowdy, almost too loud for conversation but no more than expected for a sports bar. Everyone seemed in good spirits. The amount of friend pickles you get for $10 is equal to the amount of a medium sized pickled cut up and fried.. wasn't too thrilled about that. When I came here I only got a frozen margarita because I ate before my friends made plans to come... So keep in mind that I am only rating this margarita lol... its was okay. It wasn't strong, I actually didn't really taste the alcohol. This was a fun place with plenty of TVs for sports, a nice bar and really good food. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and jalapeno bacon beans. The breading was light and very flavorful, the potatoes were hand made and the beans had a great flavor. Everything else the family had was really good too. This is now one of our Lubbock favorites. I decided to come here on 5/25/22 because of the great reviews about the food. I decided to celebrate here with my brother I haven't seen in 22 years. The food was great and my waitress was wonderful. We were taking pictures and selfies to send to our wives and family to see us together. After we were about ready to go since it was closing and paid quite a bit we had a waitress that wasn't even near us approached us. She said, "You guys think you are slick but I feel very uncomfortable with you taking pictures and I don't appreciate." She then proceeded to the bar and talked to another waitress while pointing at us talking about us. I called for a manager and talked to the one on duty to inform him about how uncalled for that his employees actions were. I was in the military for 8 1/2 years and have never been disrespected like this before. I honestly hope this was taken care of. read more

I am in Lubbock for a few days and made it by Caprock Cafe to eat dinner. 1st off Kaden (sp) is phenomenal. She was very attentive but never interrupting. She definitely deserves a raise!!! I got the green chili chicken fried steak with beans and mashed potatoes. The green chili suace with cheese was a unique touch to the chicken fry. I would not have thought to put them together, but it really worked. The mashed potatoes were spot on and the beans were very good, although they had a little too much season, it made you loose the jalapeño and bacon flavor. I set by the bar and the atmosphere is perfect. Recommendations: upgrade to hand breaded chicken fried steak but don't change a thing on the green chili sauce, upgrade your bread to a thicker Texas Toast (you are Caprock Cafe), upgrade your tv package. I was in on Sunday and only one game on all the TV's and it was not Dallas, lol. read more

This is a friendly funky joint with better than average bar food. I'd skip the jalapeño poppers we didn't care for them but the food was good, esp the burgers. Salads were also above average. The mgr upselled the jalapeño buns for the burger but when the waitstaff took our order she didn't ask us if we wanted the special bun which was a bummer. Typically have good service from here. However, today was the worst service experience of my entire life. Davoni was our waitress. Seriously the worst, most rude, dismissive server I have ever experienced. From the first time she came up to our table, all she did was roll her eyes and speak with an attitude and rude tone to everyone at the table. The other employees seemed nice, but Davoni ruined the entire experience for us. Wanted to bring some friends from out of town to enjoy a Caprock burger, but instead we left rather than be treated so poorly. I am typically very understanding... But this experience genuinely ruined my whole perception of Caprock.
