    Catfish platter..

Very ready for my first sit down meal after a stuffy flight, followed by the bus ride from hell, I would have eaten linoleum if you offered it. The kitchen crew was noticeably boisterous but having good clean fun while plugging along at their stations. Great service at the counter, guiding me towards what menu item to order as I clearly needed help. The catfish was well prepared, a homemade tartar would have really been a plus to this platter but its not yet to be. The French fries were the run of the mill, the frozen type so many places use, so no points off there.

The lemon pepper seasoning is fantastic. The mild sauce is slightly flavored ketchup, but it's not bad. The space is clean and spacious, with two TVs. (Having an early episode of The Walking Dead on while I was eating was a bit annoying. I enjoy the show, but not while dining!) Bathroom needed a better cleaning. Prices are reasonable. Free parking.

Hubby and I intended to use the groupon for the froyo place on Taylor, so we decided to fill our stomaches first at Captain Hook's Fish & Chicken. It's located approximately ten (10)-minute walking distance from the CTA Polk Pink Line station. Once getting out of the station, walk toward Ashland and stay on Ashland southbound until passing Roosevelt. It's within the shopping plaza where Jewel-Osco and other retailers are. It's not exactly hole-in-the-wall, but nothing was extraordinary to look at inside the kitchen and the dining room. Although they proclaim that they serve mainly fish and chicken, their menu is extensive and eclectic like crazy! I saw hotdogs, all kinds of burgers, tacos, and other miscellaneous items. Hubby and I kept it simple and ordered a small order of ocean perch dinner and a small order of salmon dinner. The dinner doesn't include a fountain pop. In fact, I don't think they serve fountain drinks. On the previous paragraph I mentioned the huge menu options, well, their beverage menu is as simple as it can be; the options are water (charge $1 for it), mystic, and can sodas. I would say their fish alone was a five (5)-star quality. The size of my perches were large and were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Their hot sauce was also pretty on point. The dinner also came with fries and cold slaw; however, they were both average and there were not much to them in comparison to the yummy fish. We dined in because the Bachelor was on. I was used to be obsessed to that show for some reason. Well, I guess I'm not addicted to the Bachelor or the Bachelorette anymore. I like this place; it's somewhat disappointing for not offering a fountain drink as an option while other similar joints might have one of the self-service fountain soda machines for customers. Once again, it's just an disappointment, yet it's not at all detrimental to how I think of the taste and quality of fish they offer here.

This is $13 worth of overcooked fish (less the 1st piece that made me call the restaurant back).

Stacked unapologetically high, this burger is everything you want and more: juicy, perfectly seared patties layered with melty cheese, crispy bacon, and those golden, crunchy fried onions that take it completely over the top. Every bite is rich, savory, and just messy enough to remind you you're eating something seriously good. The toasted bun somehow holds it all together (barely), soaking up every bit of flavor without getting lost in the chaos. And then... the shoestring fries. Thin, crispy, golden perfection--light but addictive, with that ideal crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one (or ten). They're the kind of fries you keep reaching for without even realizing it, especially dipped in that creamy, tangy sauce on the side. And let's not forget the drinks--just as good as the food. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind you sip slow while taking it all in (but somehow they disappear way too fast). It's not just a burger--it's one of Chicago's most iconic bites for a reason. Bold, indulgent, and absolutely worth every single napkin you'll need after. The ambiance inside is GORGEOUS!

Loved the 90s female R&B playlist they had going! Little Bad Wolf has been on my list FOR YEARS to try the burger! My husband got the burger with fried onions and I got some Bao because those also looked delicious and were a popular menu item. Honestly the 3 stars are only that high because of the service. Our server was friendly and attentive + the food came out hot and quick. Unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. The burger was swimming in a puddle of grease and just picking it up made your hands greasy + was dripping grease. The fries that came with it were floppy, soggy, and sad...but at least warm? I personally wouldn't order this again. The Bao were better, but small for the price and honestly were just okay? It was nice they gave you sauces you could add, but I found the Bao's to already have enough sauce so I didn't need them. Overall I left feeling confused and disappointed. I don't feel the need to come back here - Little Bad Will was a one and done experience for me.

We started with the artichoke gratin and the salmon Caesar salad, and both were absolutely unreal. The flavors and quality were next level. My ribeye was cooked perfectly -- an incredible char on the outside, medium rare inside exactly as ordered, and seasoned unbelievably well. The mushroom casserole may have honestly been the best mushrooms I've ever had. My daughter's vodka rigatoni was top notch and packed with flavor. We finished with the sticky cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. On top of all that, our server Jenna was a total pro -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. The fish was so flaky and tender that it was falling apart. The breading was perfect. I also loved the fries it came with because they were crispy on the outside and had a good amount of potato in each bite -- Crispy Fried Chicken: 9/10 the breading was also perfect but I do think it's missing a good sauce. the dish is included with a bottle hot sauce but because I don't do spicy sauces, I did find the fried chicken a little dry on its own. Loved the coleslaw and mashed potatoes that came on the side though -- Lobster Mac and Cheese: 8/10 very creamy and cheesy but not much lobster flavor. wasn't a bad dish at all but I probably would skip this for next time because the other dishes were more of a standout -- Sticky Date Toffee: this is the dessert they're known for and I have to admit I was reluctant to try it at first. I don't really like dates or toffee and I had read a few reviews who mentioned it was a little salty. I'm not sure if they adjusted the saltiness based on feedback but I didn't find the dessert too salty at all. It felt so balanced- the warm sponge cake, the toffee sauce, the cold ice cream and crumbs for a little bit of texture all came together perfectly In the future I hope to try their vodka pasta with spicy sausage, their chicken pot pie, their cornbread, and Bella Punch or Cosmo In terms of service, our waitress was extremely attentive and sweet -- multiple wait staff were keeping our water filled and checking in with us But outside of the food and service, I will say I was a little disappointed they charge for reservations here - it's $2.50 person and even though the cost isn't that high, I think the concept of charging for a reservation versus taking a deposit or charging a no show fee is hard for me to get behind Keep in mind they also have a 3% surcharge included in the bill as well But overall I loved my experience dining here-- I think the have so many amazing dishes to try and it was so hard to choose so I definitely would love to come back to try more

Their burger is great with two thin patties. The veggies and pickles with it is delicious. The bun is pretty good. The fries was decent. His breakfast is so much better than mine though! I tried everything on his plate and it was good! After we finished our meal, we also took some nice pictures at the balcony which you can see all the way to the Field Museum area on a nice weather day. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Grant Park area. We actually visited the cloud gate, fountain, The cultural center, Target/5 below, comic stores, route 66 sign, Chicago stock exchange arch, and the art institution all in that trip. Very convenient! Their reservation opens 2 weeks before. If we ever go back to Chicago, we will definitely visit them again. Hopefully I will complete my Invisalign treatment and can actual eat more food! The elevator is very "vintage" btw. We tried both the express and regular elevators and that was an interesting ride...
