The good lord blessed us with a picture perfect day, calm winds, blue sky's, and due to the skills on the boat a full cooler. The boat is BIG, hence "THE BIG WORM" lol. Spacious cabin, comfortable seating inside and out. If your fishing with a small or very large party, Drew will accommodate. Unfortunately we did not take advantage of the lunch (bbq) that is available as an up charge for the party. Make sure you inquire about food options!!!! In short, Captain Drew was disorganized, lacked communication skills and was very rude. We booked this trip a year in advance and was quoted a price of $1200 for 6 people, and $200 any additional persons. Prior to the fishing trip, I texted the captain several questions to prepare for this trip, he either failed to respond or his response was delayed and lacked clarity. The lack of communication continued before and during the fishing trip. The captain texted me the day before the fishing trip at approximately 7:30 am and told us not to come down to Virginia Beach until we received confirmation from him that evening to ensure the weather was suitable for fishing. I had been checking the weather forecast for several days and it was supposed to be in the 70s, sunny and moderate winds and I conveyed that via text to the captain. What he attempted to do, but failed, is tried to get rid of our group so that he could make more money with another group of 16 versus 7 because the weather the next day was forecasted to be very windy. And the group of 16 was booked to go the day after our trip. When he realized we would not wait until we received confirmation since we were already in route, the captain raised the price to $1800 when he had already quoted us $1200 for the first 6 and $200 for any additional. I'm sure he raised the price to get us to cancel, which we did not do--sorry Captain More importantly, because he had to cancel a bigger group and stick with us, he failed to give us a safety briefing before departure. An epic fail as a Captain. At this point, he could care less about our safety. Money was priority for him. When we returned from the fishing trip, he continued to request more money, only this time, it was for two mates. Everything should have been all worked out before we ever pulled off of the dock. Bottom line, this man lacks integrity, he was rude, and was a male chauvinist. I would not recommend this company for a fishing trip.

First time bowfishing and will not be the last! I have a PSE compound bow but this was just slightly different and definitely more exciting than shooting at paper targets. LoriAnn gave us the run through and encouragement and we were off! Both Captain Bill and LoriAnn were awesome hosts! I say hosts because it was like friends letting you into their boat to fish with them. They were both nice (Captain Bill is retired USMC and my cousin is retired Air Force), accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable and can hold a conversation! It was such a good time and we even got to the VA side. Keep in mind we loaded up and left dock at 8PM and did not get done until past 1AM...So wear comfy shoes. We caught fishes and had an awesome time learning what we could from them both. 9 fish was a nice total with one 15lb, 3 over 7/8lbs and the rest between 3/4lbs...The pictures say it. My cousin and I were happy! So if you have never gone bowfishing, Southern Maryland Bowfishing is who you should do it with! I highly recommend Captain Bill and sprain LoriAnn! They are good people who showed us a damn good time!

Disappointing, uncomfortable experience and would 100% not return…read more We booked a trip with Southern Maryland Bowfishing as a group of three, excited to try bowfishing for the first time and hopefully catch some snakehead (we're optimistic like that). I had assumed based on our communication that our small group would have the small boat to ourselves, which is typically why I pay for extra spots; to keep things private. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were surprised to find that two of the captain's "regulars" were added to our trip without any heads-up, which immediately shifted the tone of the experience. Things only got worse from there. Fewer than five minutes into the trip, the captain commented on how "good" my English was and that I didn't have an accent; clearly implying that, as a Hispanic person, I was expected to speak with one. We quietly noted that we didn't even make it five minutes without a tone-deaf comment, and tried to move on and enjoy the trip anyway. Unfortunately, we didn't. There was very little instruction provided, and we mostly had to ask questions to figure out what to do. Meanwhile, the couple of regulars, clearly more experienced, were set up at the front of the boat catching fish, while we were left to figure things out ourselves or ask a million questions. We felt like spectators rather than participants. To add a final insult to injury, when we returned to the dock and I still tipped the captain out of courtesy, I overheard him in conversation with a small group of men joking about how much he charged. One of them turned to me and commented that I should make sure to come back again (It was clearly implied we had overpaid or been taken advantage of). The captain then offered for us to come back in another season since we didn't catch anything which honestly just felt like a weak consolation. This was an overall uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Between the lack of professionalism, the unwelcoming vibe, and the racial microaggressions, I can confidently say we won't be returning. Luckily, there's no shortage of other bowfishing charters in the area, we'll try one of those once the bad taste from this experience fades. Alternatively we recently chartered a boat for blue catfish fishing and had a completely different experience. Look for that review if you're looking for a good time fishing.

We have been members of the sailing package for a year and have absolutely loved it. It's fantastic…read morethat J/80 reservations, for example, are only allowed a week in advance, so we have actually never had an issue reserving a boat when we wanted to go out. Boats are maintained extremely well, the staff is outstanding and helpful answering any questions (even for relative beginners like us!), and they are great at allowing independence yet will step in to help whenever needed. We have not yet been to the Baltimore location, but we plan to this spring/summer. Can't recommend this club enough. It has definitely provided us with a fantastic opportunity to practice our sailing skills, get our children comfortable on the water (easy to take a boat out for just an hour or so to maintain their excitement!), and expose us to boats that we otherwise wouldn't have an easy opportunity to sail. Love it!

Today's adventure led us to walk on water . We purchased a Groupon for a 90 min watercraft…read moreexperience. Our host, Andy, was so awesome! He engineered this watercraft. It's still in the testing phase but we had a great time. No issues at all. Our journey started at Truxton Park Boat Launch. You have to park in the parking lot and walk about 2-3 min to the boat launch. We completed the consent and boarded the watercraft and took a brief tour of Annapolis while Andy "walked on water" to propel the boat. We saw tons of yachts and expensive houses. Next, we disembarked and sat on a blanket under a shaded tree for lunch and laughs . Andy is great with kids. After lunch, we hopped into the water for some swimming ‍‍ and water football (life jackets provided). Andy played an awesome water playlist to include the theme song for JAWS , Gilligans Island , and Titanic . After swimming, we got back on the boat for some stand-up paddling and squirting birds with a water gun. We saw a few beautiful herons and ospreys . We also waved and chit chatted with a few boaters and kayakers. It was a creative adventure!
