I was…read morepissed when the Apple Store refused to fix my screen because they claimed that there were "dents" on the corners of my iPhone which had spent its whole life protected inside a case. There were chips in the finish but that is hardly a dent. They wanted €309 for a "new" refurbished phone! Luckily I found Max, who is nearby and only wanted €150 to install a new screen. His customer service was 100 times better than what you get at the Apple Store. I didn't need an appointment, and I was greeted at the door by a friendly guy who helped me with juggling my broken phone and cranky toddler. Max fixed my screen in 20 minutes while I waited, and I had a nice cup of coffee and a piece of candy which made my cranky toddler super happy and ready to embrace the world. This is in great contrast to the Apple Store, which insists that you are not more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, make you stand in a slow line to check in for your appointment, offer you no tea or coffee while you wait, and last time made me wait 45 minutes with a screaming cranky toddler while they looked at my phone and insisted again that I buy a new refurbished phone instead of just replacing the screen. So I am glad that Max is here! Go see him, he's a cool guy.

I contacted the warranty department after my 2TB FireCuda SSHD failed after 7 months of use. I had lost a big portion of unbacked-up data, and Seagate offered to perform the recovery in within my warranty, in their Netherlands lab. The communication with them was fast and direct, and the employees were very polite and helpful. I always carefully read their instructions - make sure you do too! I sent the drive via UPS. It took them less than 10 working days to fully recover my data (around 1.7 TB), and send it back on a 2TB Backup Plus external drive, with a decryption code. Very easy and straightforward process. I was thrilled to receive my data back! Lesson learned - backup your stuff daily!! Otherwise, I have been using 3 other external 5TB Seagate drives, one of them for more than 2 years of daily use, and they have been working fine. Thank you Seagate!

Telefoonstad was super easy to find in the middle of De Pijp and I stopped by a week ago to ask for their pricing. €35 for a battery change, and it would take about half an hour, they said. As I was in a rush I told them thanks and that I'd stop by another time. I went there this afternoon, left my phone there for about an hour and a half before returning to pick it up and pay the small fee. It was slightly inconvenient that it had to take such a long time compared to what I had been told last week, but I understand that the amount of customers they have from day to day varies. As I picked my phone up they also told me they had replaced my screen protector which is two years old already, at no extra cost. That was a very cool thing of them to do, I think. There's an air bubble stuck in between the screen and the protector that's pretty annoying, but I guess that's not really a thing to complain about as it was all done for free (or included in the price I paid, perhaps). All in all a pretty good place to fix your phone that I would recommend to friends as well.
