The letter stated the work would take approximately 1 hour. I waited five hours and was then informed that they needed a part they did not anticipate needing and would have to order it (apparently they don't stock the parts to cover such contingencies). They said they didn't have a courtesy car to give me, I asked if I could take the car and bring it back when they have the parts, and I was refused the keys to my own car. I explained I was now stranded 40 miles from home without a car to which I was offered a lift to the train station (I don't live anywhere near a train station). We phoned Honda customer services to try and get a hire car authorised, but they refused stating we didn't meet the criteria. Over a week later and my car is still at the garage because they are still waiting on this part. We were initially told it would take 3-4 days for the part to arrive, then when it didn't arrive we were told it will take a few more days or possibly weeks. We all know they could get a courtesy car to us if they really wanted to. We live rurally so owning a car is essential but Honda just don't care. I've never experienced such awful customer service in my lifetime. I am now having to fund a hire car out of my own pocket due to a manufacturing recall. That isn't right.

After speaking to the manager, I haven't been offered an exchange for the car I ordered or a proportionate compensation related to the harmed caused. Even though I complained since the day after driving the car away, I have been chasing this company for a month (both manager, dealer and central) and everyone says to be "too busy to answer" and promise call backs that never come. Don't buy! I expected reliability from a Ford dealer, but this is not what I found.

I took the car straight to an independant garage who gave it a diagnostic test. The test uncovered the fact that there were many major parts of the engine 'missing'. These were parts that would have to have been removed by a mechanic, which if faulty, would stop the engine from running, BUT if removed the car will operate for a few months before finaly causing extensive problems. The price to replace the parts inc labour would have cost in xs of £2500. When i took the car back to the so called 'dealers', he told me 'we dont do refunds' and i was 'over the 30day warrenty'. After i educated this cowboy of my rights and the fact i had contacted the office of fair trading, he quickly gave me my money back to get me out of his way!!! 1 month later, the car is back on the forcourt at the same price, I would wager my mortgage that the repairs havnt been done! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DAYLIGHT ROBBER!!!

I knew I would have to travel a fair distance to view/test drive this car, so I phoned first and spoke to Peter. I was assured of the condition, and general details of the car to such an extent, that I instantly felt very confident, and felt I was genuinely dealing with a very honest and trustworthy company. I had to phone back a few times over the next few days to arrange when I would be able to come, and also to arrange insurance and road tax. This was when I first spoke to Raymond, and I have to say, again I came off the phone, satisfied and confident that the car would be everything I was told it would be. I phoned yet again, a day before I left to confirm everything was ok, and also to get directions from the main Train Station in Edinburgh. I was instantly told by Raymond, to phone him when I got to the station and he would come and pick me up. This, I thought was an extremely kind gesture, considering the garage is a good 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre. When I arrived at the garage, I found the car to be exactly as advertised, and exactly as described by both Raymond and Peter. We took it out for a good test drive, and along the way had a good chat and laugh with Raymond. Once we arrived back at the garage, I was smitten and didn't need any further convincing. At this point I met Peter and found him to be as friendly and welcoming as Raymond. Along with an already very good price for a very good car, PHJ also covered the cost of my first year's road tax, along with a £25 top up of fuel. Something I certainly didn't expect! All in all a very pleasant experience, and would highly recommend both the high standard of cars, and also the high standard of customer care that I received. I have already recommended them to friends and family, and would certainly remember them again in the future.
