For one cousin of mine, ice cream only means one thing: Cara Mia. A stroll through Robinson's Place, which we do quite frequently as it's near our apartment, is never complete without him taking us on a detour to the place. He'll always order first, so while our other cousins and my sister will still be ordering, he'll already be halfway through his single-scoop cone of Sans Rival or Ferrero, smiling contentedly. Why only pick a single-scoop cone, you ask? He says he's watching his sugar intake. Yeah, right!
Apart from the obvious and notoriously high sugar levels of ice cream, in general, Cara Mia's gelato will will set you back at Php 85 per scoop, so it's definitely not recommended for everyday. It definitely is a great weekend treat, though. There are so many flavors to choose from and the ice cream is rich true to its flavors. My favorites are Chocolate Therapy and Pistachio.
Aside from gelato, Cara Mia at Robinson's Place also serves meals, and carries their bestselling gelato and ref cakes, which not only look really pretty (their designs are so intricate), but easy on the wallet, too, starting at Php 600+. read more
