I have loved this store for over 30 years.. I go there now more than ever. It has always been a wonderful place to go and get exquisite Middle Eastern delicacies and even some fresh produce. I'm headed over there this afternoon to pick up some figs, French feta, sesame candies, olives, and halva! Fantastic customer service, very clean and well organize organized store.

Every time I come here , I think to myself: "Why don't I come here more often?". I love to peruse a the vast array of fascinating ingredients, prepared food, nuts, teas, olives, etc.etc.etc., with aromas of far off lands. I have spent a lot of time in Greece, and some time traveling around the Balkans, Turkey and the Near East. Mediterranean cuisine is a favorites of mine in all of it's variations. There is nothing more delectable than dolma warm or cold, it's not just stuffed grape leaves. (Dolma is a family of stuffed vegetable dishes common in the Mediterranean cuisine and surrounding regions including the Balkans, the Caucasus, Russia, Central Asia and Middle East. Common vegetables to stuff include tomato, pepper, onion, zucchini, eggplant, and garlic. Meat dolmas are generally served warm, often with tahini or egg-lemon sauce. ) Needless to say all of the spices and most of the other ingredients are to be found here, and Caravan like its name is a wondrous journey and destination, at least I think so.

I love this market. It's a treasure chest waiting for the treasure hunt! I love cultures and different foods, products and other goodies to try. If you're in the mood to dig and look at every little shelf then this is the place to come. They have a Mediterranean candies (that a friend turned me onto with pistachios that I saw in the market in California) where It's some kind of light white taffy made with sugar and rosewater with pistachios. This place actually has a baklava type pinwheel candy of the same kind. Absolutely heavenly and amazing. They also have a large selection of teas, fresh herbs and vegetables, tons of olives that are locally made, nuts and seeds of all kinds sold in bulk, and even lavash made locally. And of course there's the baked baklava and other bread. A lot of the local people come and get into some heated discussions in here. It's rather fun for me. I actually found that some of the customers came from many different middle eastern countries as I got into a few discussions myself wellI'm glad I didn't walk out with a bigger bill, but I certainly lucked out with the desire to come back and dig some more! UPDATE: I went back by yesterday and didn't realize they closed at 6PM. The owner was chatting with a friend. I asked if I could grab one thing only, (only they have these candies here in town!). He let me in and I found them! They're in bulk and hard to locate, but they are so worth it!

Since moving to Tucson it has been a challenge to find certain ethnic items I was easy to get back home. This store was recommended by Isabella here on Yelp. I was able to find quite a few items. Very glad to shop here. They have a large variety of groceries from many different countries and not overly priced which I completely appreciate.

Great Middle Eastern food at very fair prices. The shop is very small, but there sure is a lot of variety.

There are customers line up at the self check-out, yet not a normal check out open. I ask a worker who is chatting with another worker if they are going to open a check-out, she looks at me as if I'm bothering her and says nope then goes back to chatting. Again, WTF? I've got a cart full and already put in my 8 hours for the day. Now they want me to do their job as well. Self checkouts weren't made for that. Originally they were made for the guy who has 2 items and didn't want to wait in the normal checkout. He could get out quickly. Now after 7 they want everyone to use them. Maybe if I got a discount, I would be more willing to self checkout but I'm paying full price. Like I said, I already put in 8 hours at my job, my job is hard physical work. I don't feel like doing their job too. What do you think? Are you ok working for Fry's for free after you worked all day? No other place makes you work when you go there, no restaurant makes you cook your own food, no doctors office make you do your own physical, no bar makes you pour your own beer or make your own drink. What does Fry's think they can make you work for free. I hope someone from corporate reads this and does what's right go back to the way they did it for years and years. Or I'll be driving a little farther to get the customer service that Fry's lacks. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

It's nice to discover some new things you haven't tried before. The bakery has some tempting things to look at. The store is large with wide enough aisles so you can browse easily. They also have ready made sushi, which is what I ended up getting. They have a little something for everyone ranging from your typical American food like pizza, pasta, chicken fingers and salads to Mexican, Indian and Asian food. The sushi I got was really tasty. The spring rolls I got were okay but the dipping sauce is not what I expected which was a tangy sauce. Usually for spring rolls it's a peanut sauce. For sushi they have low sodium soy sauce available which is a plus. There is very limited seating at the store to sit down and eat so most likely you'll have to bring your food home. All in all, it's not bad. Fairly cheap, and a decent selection!
