Came in for a DOT exam again. I figured that they have hopefully gotten better from my first experience. I guessed wrong. I was in their office for over 2 1/2 hours. They tried to pin it on me and that I didn't have the proper paperwork. I was able to conjure up the paperwork in less than 10 minutes. After I was issued my paperwork, I questioned about the medical exam certificate, which is essential for when I go to the dmv. "Oh you don't need that" I was told. I go to the DMV, and waited another hour, they asked about the certificate. I was not issued that, Carbon Health said I didn't need it. I call Carbon Health, stating that I needed the certificate, and that I will be there in 10 minutes. I asked if they would have it ready by the time I arrive. Now they inform me, "Oh, you don't have to go to the DMV". Carbon Health didn't tell me about that. Frankly, I don't trust them anymore. I came here because it was convenient, local, and thought trustworthy. Turns out they were only local. Don't come here if you need a DOT medical certification. They are not well organized, equipped, and their customer service is lacking. It would have been nice to not to have to go to the dmv provided if they told me. Something that should have taken me a couple of hours to complete start to finish is now taking me late morning to all afternoon to finish. This is the last time I will ever be coming here. This place is the Keystone Cops of healthcare. Don't know how the rest of their services are, but for DOT certification, they are terrible. read more

I went to carbon health to get my sports physical where I was told at the front desk it wouldn't be covered under insurance. I then asked how much it would be. I was quoted $55 which I then paid and my appointment went fine. Three days later my card I used was charged another $80 on top of the $55 I already paid using my card they kept on file. They charged my card $80 without even letting me know, I only realized when I checked my bank statements. I called and was originally told that I was charged for a regular physical and a sports physical. I explained I only got the sports physical and she refunded the money. I then received a call not even 5 mins later where they told my card would be charged again because I was over 18 and the discounted price of $55 was only for minors. This was really odd because I provided id and told them my age multiple times at the time of my appointment. I asked why I wasn't told that only minors got a discounted price at my appointment and I was told the girl at the front desk just didn't know. If I had know it would be $135 to get my sports physical especially when I have health insurance and could've gotten it somewhere else (but i thought this would be more convenient) I would've never done it here. I'm 19 and in college, I don't have $80 to spend without even being informed about it, which made me feel like it like it was done on purpose. Even when I called they were somewhat nice but offered no solution except a sorry and that I was going to be charged full price. No one knows what's going on, I was charged more than double what I was told at my appointment and now they expect me to pay for their mistakes. read more

I visited on May 10, 2024, Medicare paid, and my supplementary insurance paid on June 4, 2024, and Carbon Health cashed the check on June 17, 2024. On January 16, 2026--YES, 2026 !!-- I am still getting emails about my account being turned over to collections. I have repeatedly called, am told it is being resolved, but the emails don't stop. Find another urgent care place--the billing practices of this company are so bad that the quality of the health care you receive becomes irrelevant. read more

Their personnel (Nora, Emilee and Maryann) were very considerate, patient and understanding. The services I received exceeded my expectations. Everyone that provided me service were professional and experienced. The Urgent Care facility I use to patronize has gone out of business in Moorpark. Based upon my positive experience today I have found my new Urgent Care facility in Carbon Health Urgent Care. I highly recommend this business. read more

On Wednesday 5/15, I went to this Carbon Health to get a pre-op exam done as I couldn't get in to see my primary doctor and surgery is scheduled for the 20th. The location was clean and I was greeted, checked in and taken back to a room fairly quickly. The first assistant asked me all the pre op questions, took blood and got all my vitals for the exam. She then says they need to do an EKG on me. Again, all fine. But it took her 20 mins to put the leads on correctly. She moved all of them multiple times and she said the machine kept giving her an "error" message. After a while when she still couldn't get it to work, she called the other assistant in to do this. The second assistant removed all the leads and said "let's start over" since they were in all the wrong places. She then put a second set of leads on me, hooked me up and printed out an EKG. Great. Done. The PA comes in and says "ya you're gonna have to go get cardiac clearance...you've clearly had a 'cardiac event' recently." I was absolutely shocked. I've never had any heart problems and have had my heart monitored for this surgery (gallbladder removal) at least 4 times in 2 months. No one has EVER said my heart was abnormal or there was a problem. I leave absolutely furious and quite frankly freaked out. Did I have a cardiac event??! I called my GP who was able to squeeze me in after hours because I was so upset that something was wrong. My GP's assistant hooks me up in 5 minutes then says "take off your Apple Watch...that can interfere with the reading" - the first thing Carbon Health didn't have me do. She then tells me to scoot back on the table as my ankles were hanging off the table. Another thing that could interfere with the reading and the second thing Carbon Health didn't do. My GP reviews my EKG and says it's perfect. There's nothing wrong with my heart, nor has there ever been. Needless to say I am still very upset with Carbon Health and I will be contacting whomever in their corporate office about this. To not only misdiagnose me, but also to scare me into thinking somethings wrong with my heart AND possibly not clearing me for a surgery I need is reprehensible in my opinion. I had a highly disappointing experience at the Moorpark location of Carbon Health on May 15, 2025. I came in for a 2:00 PM appointment for an ear cleaning, but from the moment I walked in, things went downhill. The manager on duty, Nora, was unwelcoming and dismissive. Despite my polite approach, she told me the ear cleaning would not be done by a machine and said it would be performed with a peroxide. After discussing how the cleaning would be performed, I agreed After waiting in the exam room, a provider briefly came in--she was more professional than Nora, but still rushed. She barely looked into my ears and told me I was "ineligible" for the cleaning. When I explained I had no ear pressure, she abruptly ended the visit. I received no service, but was still charged a $50 copay. To make matters worse, I received a follow-up message from the provider suggesting remedies for ear pressure, which I had specifically stated I was not experiencing. This clearly showed how little attention was paid to my only reason to visit was for CLEANING. I returned to the front desk to inquire about a refund, and while the staff initially suggested I might be eligible, they quickly backed off after checking with someone else who I believe to be Nora. I then messaged the provider, who acknowledged my frustration and said she would refer me to a manager. Nora, the manager reached out to me via a "No Caller ID" number without my consent, and when I explained my issue, she was dismissive and unhelpful. She told me she couldn't issue a refund but mentioned that upper management might be able to help, though she discouraged the idea. That was the last I heard from Nora. She completely ghosted me after that call and never followed up or provided any guidance on how to proceed. I was left with no contact info to escalate the issue further. I'm now requesting a full refund, as I didn't receive any service that day for what I came in for. This experience has left me extremely disappointed--not only with the lack of care but with the dismissive and unprofessional attitude I encountered. I had been considering becoming a regular Carbon Health patient, but after this, I will not be returning unless this issue is resolved. Nora Alvarez on the other hand obviously only cares about money and does not care about the paitents. These buisnesses need to learn the importance of relationship building. Went to Carbon Health Moorpark for a Non DOT screening for my future employer. I called the day before to make sure this test was available and i was assured that I would be able to be seen. I thanked the lady on the phone and let her know that I had limited time to do this test and wanted to make sure it was available at the location. Fast forward to the time of my appointment, I walk in and the clinic is packed. There was one man behind the desk who promptly told me I would not be able to test because he could not perform the test. I had an appointment and called before. Now I had to go to a different Carbon health and I will now be late to work due to having to drive to another clinic without an appointment. This situation is just so frustrating and made the calls I made yesterday pointless. read more

Useless. They don't return phone calls. You walk in and you have to wait for someone to come out from back. They wrote an order for an X-ray but the lab couldn't make out the doctors name because he scribbled it on the order and since they didn't return or answer phone calls the lab couldn't perform the X-ray without the doctors name. I went to this place 9/30/2023, my biggest issue with this company is that I had paid my bill in it's entirety last year only to find out that they attempted to charge my card without my notice multiple times first for $5 that I guess did not get fully covered and then completely disregarded that I had insurance and charged me $576.88. Thank god they only had my old card on file. I have attempted to contact this office multiple times, even reached out to their front office who assured me that a manager would reach out to me once she looked more into my account since I guess that she didn't even know why I was being charged nor why they were charging my card WITHOUT my consent. I wasn't able to have my child seen at Carbon Health Moorpark because we arrived 5 minutes before their early closing time on Easter Sunday. I spoke to a kind reception care coordinator at the front desk who was helping me to find another location open on Easter. What troubled me was that I explained my son had been punctured by a screw, and no further questions were asked about his condition. He could have been very young, bleeding, gravely injured, needing an ambulance, but no one offered to see how serious his condition was because they were closing. Perhaps they could suggest another urgent care versus an ambulance, or even calling an ambulance for us? The worst part was a medical professional came out as I was standing in the wait area and although the receptionist informed her that my son was injured, she completely ignored me and the receptionist. As if I wasn't there. The receptionist answered her question because that took priority. Then he gave me the names of two other locations of urgent care that were closed for the holiday. We ended up at the ER - my 9 year old was badly injured and bleeding. At least ask a mother what type of help is needed, the degree of injury, and the age of the child. This place is the absolute worst. I booked an appointment for a video call and they called once and left no message. When I finally reached out the person that answered the phone was very rude, had no regard for my time wasted or even the fact that I'm so sick that I can't even come into an office. All she wanted to do was collect a bill that wasn't in my app and didn't even have the right address on it. From arrival to departure in under 20 minutes; clean, bright, and modern facility; and mostly - if you make an appointment and put in your info, they DO NOT ASK YOU TO REPEAT IT. I will say that as soon as I wrote this post a representitve reached out to me from the direct location to resolve the issue. The refunded me the extra $260 and are working on refunding me the remaining amount of the visit. I am only giving them 3 stars because I have not heard from billing yet if that bill was taken care of. It has been fairly painless and this specific location worked quickly to resolve the issue. They have taken action to inform new patients of who they accept in health insurance providers as well. read more

Thr ONLY reason I would give this Urgent Care even one star was because the receptionist was very sweet and very professional. The Nurse Practioner, on the other hand, completely UNQUALIFIED! I came in with significant eye pain, due to what I assumed might be a scratch in my eye. The NP Examined my eye and determined there was no abrasion and suggested we "watch the situation", even after I had told her I had stinging pain, light sensitivity and tearing. I had to ask her for drops to help ease the pain. She reluctantly gave me a prescription "in case there was an infection"... 24 hrs and a significant amount of pain later, I saw an opthalmologist who confirmed I had an ulcer in my eye and the prescription she had given me was not even close to strong enough! Not the first time I have received sub-standard care from an Urgent Care. Never again! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Urgent Care, if your really in pain or really sick, GO TO THE ER! read more
