From the moment he arrived, the Heartwood owners and staff welcomed him as part of their family. We observe that they treat every resident with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect, and it is obvious that they genuinely care about the people who live here. Knowing that he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for gives us tremendous peace of mind. Heartwood is always clean, attractive, and inviting. Residents have access to several comfortable TV lounges with cozy furniture where they can visit family, relax, socialize, enjoy their favorite programs or nap. The beautiful outdoor garden is another wonderful feature, providing a peaceful place to walk, enjoy nature, or simply sit and visit with friends and family. They also have an adjacent facility for more advanced memory care when our ward needs it. What impresses us most is the personal attention each resident receives. The staff is attentive, compassionate, and responsive, and they do an excellent job communicating with families. Over the past two years, we have consistently seen a level of care that goes above and beyond our expectations. We are extremely grateful for everything Heartwood has done for our ward and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, caring, family-oriented assisted living home for a loved one.

6 minutes ago ( This review is based on experience, I was my…read moreUncles POA who had to place him at one facility and over saw his care till he passed, I assisted my Mom in placing and care of my Father with Alzheimer's till he passed ) When we had to find a place for our Mom, Century Oaks appears lovely. It's physical environment and decor are lovely. My Mom had a lovely room to herself, her own bathroom, walk in closet with laundry. Chief Tony makes great meals and I loved being able to come have a meal with Mom in the lovely dinning room. It offered activities and socialization she was in need of. We often requested better activities since all they did was movies, bingo and offered trips to stores. At times we had to request they clean her room feeling it was not being done. Mom has short term memory issues but is able to physically care for herself. She was happy, then Covid pandemic hit. Between my sister who is RN and myself, watched as the Facility we kept paying failed to work within the pandemic requirements and keep the residents active, stimulated and socialized. We understood first month but by second adjustments had not been made. Mom was confined to her room, eating meals alone, staring at Tv, could not leave her room. Other facilities thought outside box offered, welcomed window visits, offered weekly communications to family via calls, FaceTime with loved ones, emails. We got nothing!!! Twice we got a form letter in the mail. Second informing us of increase 50$ a month. We called repeatedly and if anyone would answer no Admin was available to talk, or we be told they pass message on. My sister was yelled at when she try window visit, one being on Easter. Seriously these kind souls need family and they were not allowed any outside visits. Our messages to nurse or admin went unanswered. We became worried and concerned over proper care, toe nails trims, begging for activities, asking for when they reopen? Our favorite was them posting on Facebook when they do some activity once in several weeks acting like it's all roses going on. I had communication with several residents, they were experiencing same failure of care for as Mom was. They all express frustration with Adm and ate depressed. Again we have understanding of regulations rules of Covid but THEY FAILED and continue to do so. I want to express that at about day 60 lock down we started to have more connection with hands on staff, kind and compassionate doing as good as they can under procedures and lack of direction from ADMIN. We could only see her short stolen window visits and near end( even immediate staff ignored us) as we visit distancing outside with mask. They too were tired and worried about their people they cared for. We watched our Mom who was doing well deteriorate, mentally depressed calling her daily on landline hearing her sad voice commenting daily " living in gray walled prison" and lack physical ability to move her walking ability declined. Week 15 of lock down End of June, we pulled Mom out. This same week into the Covid lockdown other residents had started to revolt and ignore staff so the could socialize and have activities. NO ACTIVITY DIRECTOR HAVE BEEN ALLOWED BACK AS OF THIS WRITING. Shame shame on horrible Admi! My favorite call wanting requesting to talk to Adm, 2 weeks prior to her move out, I get told they all on vacation! I hope they sell the place soon and The new owners come in that have true compassion and knowledge of how to care for our most vulnerable. My heart is appreciative all those who work in the halls directly with residence. God bless you. Families beware of our experience. My Mom called it her gray prison. Days later she says she hasn't given that place a second thought. She is now with me, thank God I can make it work. My Lord watch over all our Seniors and those in assisted living.

*THE COMPANY ASKS ITS EMPLOYEES TO MAKE FAKE YELP REVIEWS BEWARE*…read more The absolute worst place to bring your family. Would not recommend. (former memory care employee, also have worked a few assisted living homes) Caregivers : LAZY , do not assist residents for 30+ minutes at times, they sleep on the job, smoke weed at work, abuse and neglect the residents. They don't pay attention to who needs to use walkers / wheelchairs and just leave the residents alone for most of the day. They don't do any hygiene for the resident ( brushing teeth , deodorant, showers ) and leave their toilets nasty to just sit. Staff : Most if not all of the staff at aspire are just there for the paycheck, I couldn't name one person who genuinely enjoys / enjoyed working there. They don't care about LIVING HUMANS, your family member will just sit in their room to rot. Everyone is more worried about getting their paycheck then they are taking care of the people who pay 8k+ to live there. All in all, Aspire has been my worst job i've ever had. Unsanitary, Unsafe, and certainly unfriendly. They lie about referral bonus' for the employees, you can't request off, you're just straight up treated less than human. Do not bring your family here, don't pay the thousands upon thousands for them to sit in a room and rot, to not be taken care of, to be treated horribly. Please find somewhere else.

So please email me or message me for further detail before deciding to put your family member in this horrible facility. Also if you intend to work there just don't they will manipulate and try to trap you by charging you for their Orientation if you don't stay for a year. They will take about $100-$200 out of ur last paycheck. And if you don't return your key fob they will also charge you $50. Management= Horrible sit in their office and bark orders at caregivers that already have so much to do with over 100 residents. Communication= Horrible Facility= beautiful place but not enough to let your family member sit in their rooms all day or be pressured or forced into doing activities. Also not very clean community areas. Memory care= Your loved ones will not be supervised the way they are suppose to. Your family members items will be lost or stolen And they will talk to them like babies. Your memory care family member will not get better at this facility they will get worse. The residents are way too amazing to be treated they way they are at this facility.

Because of this, I was using Visiting Angels as a care provider to help me around the house once per week. This helped lighten my load a little bit during trying times. Visiting Angels had been helping me since early August of 2024. In mid-October of 2024, I got a call out of the blue from Lydia in the Oshkosh office saying that they were going to discontinue my care because I wasn't doing enough visits per week. I explained to Lydia that I only had so many visits allowed through insurance to get me through to the end of the year. For that reason, I was only willing to do one visit per week. According to Lydia, their minimum was one visit per week. Therefore, I didn't see an issue with this. That's what I was already getting. Lydia pressed to get me to do at least two visits per week. I refused. We ended the call as she was going to do some additional checking on her end. The next day, I received a voicemail from Lydia stating that they were going to discontinue my care because I was not reaching their minimum. I find this absolutely insane, because they had been caring for me since August. It seemed like just a bullying tactic to get more visits and more money out of me. Though the caregivers were always kind, respectful, and caring, I find these extortion tactics from their office to be absolutely disgusting. And to just end my care with a cold, uncaring voicemail is pretty cruel. Visiting Angels? More like NON-visiting DEMONS if you ask me. Steer clear!

They claim to offer flexible scheduling but I was continually contacted and pressured into taking extra shifts/clients that I mentioned to them many times would not work. Even after telling them my the schedule and clients I had worked perfect for me. They even tried to push me out of the clients I had to take different ones they needed someone like me for, that had more experience but wouldn't give a pay increase. Although it wasn't listed in the handbook or listed as a "policy" at all, I got talked to like I was incompetent and an idot by Matt for simply trying to pickup gloves while in the area because I didn't call to make an "appointment" prior to picking them up. He even went as far as laughing at me on the phone, when I told him I didn't appreciate how he was talking to me. Matt also stated how he "didn't have to put everything into policy because he's the boss". While trying to advocate for my client having black mold in her home, I was told to keep out of the situation. I didn't like how they were not always honest with my client. Clocking in was annoying at times, even after clocking in, they would mark you down as NOT clocked in and then call you in the middle of your shift to have the client confirm you were there, even though they claim to "track" your phone. I got talked to like I was dumb several times for clock in issues. I was never late or missed a shift aside from when my child had a medical emergency. Even then, they were given adequate notice and I was met with Zero empathy. Instead of "I hope everything is ok", I got, "Well when can you make up your shift"... (May 8th)My last day, I had a spill on my pants and shoes, so I changed into long shorts & sandals I had on hand - Matt apparently had sent his brother(Luke) to find me to interrogate me about some review someone had left (he refused to show it to me). I refused to talk to Matt because of how he talked & treated me and requested to talk to different management (Megan).. They refused what I had said and then began attacking what I was wearing and ultimately fired me for that.. claiming I "couldn't follow policy".. but they then replaced me with someone who wore half shirts/crop tops to their shifts .. Then a month later(June) Matt contacts me (even after I previously stated I didn't want to speak to him) and threatens to SUE me - falsely claiming my previous client had brought to his attention that I was trying to work with her behind his back... Matt again tried to contact me (July 22)... So even after stating I wanted no contact, he continues to do so. I want zero contact from anyone from visiting Angels. I myself provided excellent care to my clients. They loved me, their families and even their social workers. Oh and I didn't like being continuously hounded to leave a 5 star review on various platforms, even before working a shift. That made me very uncomfortable.
