Can't contact by phone as their mailbox is FULL!!! They also own and somewhat maintain a car wash in Tiffin, Iowa. Have never been pleased with the outcome of the quality of wash, always have bad water spots, even when using the spot free rinse. Kind of reflects a poor image on any other business that they own or perform services for. read more

Very disrespectful. Mowed so that the grass blew all over my porch, furniture and mulch and not into the yard he was mowing. Also parked directly behind my driveway instead of across from the property he was mowing, blocking my egress. read more

Got ahold of them to clean the rest of my driveway because my snowblower broke and couldn't get the job finished. They were out within the hour and did great job. Highly recommended! read more

Incredibly Rude! Snow removal truck driver was incredibly rude when I parked in a CLEARED area of the parking lot of a business, he laid on his horn and cussed at me. That kind of behavior is UNACCEPTABLE, IMMATURE & Extremely unprofessional! The customers of the business should not be treated like that! He told us he was coming out in the next three days, and never showed up. I called and asked for the courtesy of a phone call to let me know if he was going to come out at all. I never heard back from him. So happy we didn't engage him in a project as who knows if it would've ever been finished. read more

Carew Landscaping did a top notch job for us both in design and installation. Our project was huge--2 retaining walls, concrete patio, and a rebuild on an old retaining wall. The crew worked with us every step of the way, paid close attention to detail and left the place looking neat every night. They got off to a late start due to the wet spring and then the extreme heat, but we could not be happier with the final result. read more

I very much wanted to write a positive review after this project, because to be completely fair there were a few things that they did well, but my overall experience was TERRIBLE. Jeff's ideas were great, and if it all had been done correctly, it would have been worth the money. However, I paid for professional landscaping, and got sub-par work. After the first half of the project was paid for up front, I didn't hear from them for over two weeks. Then, they gave me two dates that they would be coming, and only finally showed up on their third promise. Communication was terrible in other areas, too - when I asked questions, they went unanswered. I have asked for a final invoice not less than five times and was told it would be sent to me, but I have not received it to this day. Once I actually got the crew to my house, they used as few materials as possible to make it look like the job was done, but in just a few days it was clear that the work was shoddy. The estimate I was given included a drawing of the plans, and the workers deviated from that plan OFTEN without checking with me. When I pointed it out, the crew acted put off, as if I had done something wrong. There are weeds all over my driveway already, just a couple of weeks after they finished, because they didn't adequately spray before laying gravel, and the layer of gravel was so thin that it was non-existent in some places. Mulch was placed over established lawn and some very large weeds with no tilling or landscape fabric--or even manual weeding--so now I am out in the beds weeding every few days. In that process, I discovered that the mulch was put down less than an inch deep in many areas. I'm not an experienced landscaper by any stretch of the imagination, but even I know that mulch needs to be much deeper than that. Now I'll have to go buy mulch myself after I paid for it already through Carew. New sod was put down, but cut into such small pieces that not even daily, deep watering could keep it from drying out and browning in the summer heat. There were small trees in an area where a new flower bed was built that were CUT instead of uprooted, so of course they are already regrowing. I am SO disappointed. When I called Jeff about fixing the problems, he did come out and look, but then the crew that came back to "fix" them basically did nothing. I find myself wondering why I paid these guys anything, when I could have done just about all the work by myself, and done a better job. My emails and phone calls have been ignored, so evidently they don't care about their customer satisfaction or reputation. I'm so frustrated by this point, I am getting ready to contact the Better Business Bureau. Beware. read more

These guys did a terrible job on my brick paver walkway they built. There were weeds growing around every paver one year later, the steps settled and were unsafe to walk on. When I called to voice my concerns, Mr. Carew himself was so rude he almost make me cry, stating he "would make it right" and told me to "stop calling". So every few weeks for the rest of the summer he sent out his landscape guys to spray weed spray on the bricks, apparently this was his version of fixing my walkway. Sure enough this year it is all worse and he still never "made it right" despite several calls at the end of the summer. Now we are looking at a $3,000 bill to fix all of his mistakes. read more
