I'm not a regular customer, in fact this was my first time using "Meccanica " but the welcome was warm and friendly and the service fantastic. The job was a relatively small one but attention to detail was impressive and in addition when the bike was rolled out of the workshop a number of points including all levers, centre stand and side stand had been freshly lubed. An excellent level of service for seriously minimal cost.

They also have an opticians and photo processing services there. If you need a cup of coffee or a drink after shopping, there is a cafe upstairs where you can have lunch and relax. Before you go up, there are spaces where you can lock your trolley's up so you don't have to take it with you. Its got a pharmacy where you can pick up prescriptions or get necessary medications. The best thing is that it has recycling services. You can recycle all your used boxes and newspapers before heading into the store to shop. That is what I usually do. I can spend a lot of time there just looking around the foodstuff and clothing/home stuff, then head to the cafe for coffee with a friend and spend a whole afternoon there.

One man member of staff at the checkout refused to serve me saying his till was closed. But then he went and served the other customers. If that's not rude I don't know what is. So was made to queue for a hour before we finally got served. Forget this place. Much better off going to Salisbury or ASDA where you get a better service.

They sell pretty much everything you might need that you wouldn't need a mechanic to sort out. Many parts can be ordered if need be, and although they have shifted their focus towards silly neon lights and glowy things to stick to your car (basically stuff that 17 year-old boys would buy for their Citroen Saxos) they still have a good selection of tools, cleaning materials, camping equipment and other regular spares. And they sell bikes. Again not the best bike shop compared to the likes of Cycle Surgery but the bikes they sell are decent value and good enough for most people. This branch has a decent sized car park which is pretty good considering how close it is to Central London.
