Jacki V is the best photogra...pher you can get, period. If you are planning a wedding, meet with her and get her booked now so you don't kick yourself after you miss your opportunity. For those who want details, feel free to read on below. We had met with one other couple before Jacki and they were very nice but we left without a connection. After 10 minutes of talking to Jacki we knew we were going to go with her. Our 60 minute session turned into almost two hours because we got carried away talking about engagement photo ideas! Once she got to know us a little she knew that the usual walk down the stone arch bridge wasn't really our style. She had picked up on the fact that we both loved the state fair so she suggested we have our engagement session there, to which we quickly agreed. We parked our cars and it began to downpour on us, monsoon-esque rain, but Jacki didn't care. She marched on, risking the safety of her camera with a price tag that might rival that of decent used car. The rain finally stopped and the sun came out and it turned into an incredible day. Jacki found shots that we, as two self-proclaimed creative minds, never would have thought of. She kept us on our toes and always had ideas so we weren't just standing there looking for a shot. Some things worked, some things didn't (mostly the things we suggested). By the end of the day we knew we had some incredible shots. Within days she had every picture up on the website and we began to select the ones we wanted for our engagement book (which turned out amazing!). On to the wedding. Jacki showed up early and started taking pictures of the girls (and guys) getting ready. She and her assistant Laura always managed to get the right angles and the perfect shots of every "key" event (e.g. first look at the dress, putting on the shoes, guys taking shots in the back room...shhhhhh!) We spent the next hour or so taking bridal party shots in downtown Stillwater, with Jacki directing the show but still allowing for our creative input. Jacki kicked it into gear when the family photos began. She had her work cut out for her with cousins, uncles, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and grandmothers running all over the place, but it was clear in the end that she somehow managed to get a photo of everyone wearing a "real" smile. Once the ceremony started, Jacki was always in motion, looking for the classic shots and getting "candids" of almost every guest. At one point, the electricity went out, the music stopped and the guests began to gasp. Looking back at the video of the wedding, all we could see was Jacki sprinting past the other vendors, who had no idea what was going on, to notify the lodge of the electrical issue, one minute later the power was back on and Jacki was snapping photos again! The reception was incredible, she got the real spirit of the dance-floor and we decided that we were having too much fun so we asked her to stay for two more hours. We considered ourselves lucky to have the opportunity to work with Jacki. I think it's important to remember that when it's all said and done, the dress gets stuffed away in a closet, the tux gets returned, the food and cake gets eaten and the presents get returned or thrown in a cabinet somewhere but the pictures will be around forever. I couldn't have written a review of Jacki without also mentioning her incredible husband Pastor Vince Vaughan. What an incredible guy, we were having scheduling problems with our original pastor and Vince made himself available and ended up providing very meaningful advice and direction that we honestly didn't expect to get out of a pre marital counseling session. Get Jacki, and if you can, upgrade to the dynamic duo and grab Vince as well, you won't regret it!

I needed some pictures of me going Thai Yoga Bodywork for website building, so we set up an hour-long block of time in one of the studios, spent about a half-hour shooting, and ended up with 148 photos that are ALL excellent. I'm so impressed with Angela's accessibility, professionalism, and efficiency. She was incredibly easy to work with. The atmosphere was never rushed, stressed, or pressured. I couldn't believe how much material I got for how little "work" it felt like! We're so excited to be the first to review DnK Photography!! It doesn't get any more complicated…read morethan this... Dan and Karin are AMAZING. Their work is AMAZING, their style is AMAZING, the experience you will have with them will be AMAZING. Where do I start...? We have had DnK shoot photos for us about 5 times now and the results have been superb every time! When we first met DnK we were looking for a wedding photographer. We met with about half a dozen photographers in the Twin Cities and DnK were the only ones who seemed to be really enthusiastic about our big day. That was a big plus, of course, but even better than that they went out their way to understand our ideas for the big day even though it was just our initial meeting and we hadn't made any commitments to them yet. My wife and I got a of confidence, very quickly, that they would do a fantastic job for us. The wedding photos turned out perfectly, better than we could have hoped. We had a lot of ideas ourselves but Dan and Karin both came up with really fun and cool ideas on the fly, all of which came out wonderfully. Dan is great at the action shots and coming up with unique ideas in real time as he sees folks interacting and moving around. Karin's portraits and group shots are second to none and her detail shots are sensational. Together they make such a great team and compliment each other really well. We also had the videography option too and that also blew us away. On the big day Dan and Karin were on time (important! :o) and they did a great job or organizing everyone. They kept us on track but at the same time made everyone feel at ease and just helped us enjoy ourselves! (Personally, I don't really like having my photo taken, so the idea of wedding and family photos was enough to make me cut straight to the booze at the reception but DnK managed to take all my nerves away and I really did enjoy myself. It was like magic! Ha!) Immediately after the wedding, on the Monday, we did a "Trash the Dress" shoot at the MN State Fair. Let me tell you - it was a BLAST! Despite it being hot, with hundreds of being constantly surrounding us... it was SO MUCH FUN!! DnK's photos of this shoot were every bit as good as the wedding itself! In fact, in summer several of our photos were used by the Fair as a promo for the event!! How cool!? Since the wedding we have been back again and again. My wife is a musical theatre actress, she has had them shoot her promotional shots for her website and they also shot the photos for a production at The MN History Theatre which have been used two years in a row by the theatre. I hadn't seen their advertisements, or website or rankings on wedding sites, so I was a half heartily looking at their pictures, but I fell in love with their photos. That was in 2010, they've been nominated for all sorts of stuff now because they deserve it! As luck would have it, they were available the day we needed! So we met to interview them and I walked out of there and told my fiance at the time - there is no need to interview anyone else. I want them. They were so prepared when we met, but prepared like photographers are, somewhat disorganized, but they knew were everything was but totally on top of it. They were quit the duo to watch. They had their business side down, pricing was prepared, photos were in hand, they knew each others strengths so they let the other focus on their side of the business. We started asking all the "suppose to ask questions" wedding sites suggest you ask, but quickly just started talking. We connected, it was great. What really sold me was I asked "Come on, you have some crazy bridezilla moments, right?" The response was amazing after giggling at the question, "we haven't had any because those are not the types of brides we attract." - they said it much more professional though. The turn around time on the photos was as expected, email response was as expected (note brides - you are not the business's only customer, don't expect an answer for every little question within 24 hrs no matter the business you are talking to), but the quality of our photos by far surpassed expectations. The photo booth was a gem, the candid photos they caught captured the people's personality to a T. Most of all the photos of my husband and I captured our relationship and the mood of the day just perfectly.

From the very first interaction that I had with Rachel, I knew that she was going to do an absolutely wonderful job and that I had nothing to worry about. Rachel and I had a couple of lengthy phone conversations where we discussed what I wanted and the vision for me wedding. I met Rachel and her husband, Rob, (her second shooter/assistant) in real life, for the first time a couple of days before the wedding. In addition to hiring Rachel for our wedding, we also hired her to do an engagement shoot. My husband and I wanted to do something a little quirky and we wanted to have the shoot at the State Fair. Rachel was more than happy to accommodate. But, as the date got closer, we realized that the weather wasn't going to cooperate with us. So, we changed the venue to The Conservatory at Como Park. This really worked out for the best. Our photos are stunning! Words can not describe how truly beautiful our photos are! Rachel and Rob knew that we still wanted that quirky flare to our photos so after we finished at The Conservatory, they suggested a second shooting location. It was so very nice of them to spend more than our allotted time with us to make sure that we had everything that we wanted. We really got the best of both worlds from this photo shoot. We also had such a fun time with Rachel and Rob that day! Rachel and Rob are warm, friendly, down to Earth, and talented! You can't ask for anything more. We really felt like we were hanging out with friends. After the photo shoot at The Conservatory, we were really excited for them to shoot our wedding just a couple of days later. At our wedding, Rachel and Rob pulled out all the stops. I had some really demanding things that I wanted photographs of - like night photos near a bonfire and night photos under twinkle lights. Rachel made sure that I got photos of absolutely everything that I wanted on my wedding day. And...to make us feel even extra special, Rachel and Rob brought us a super amazing gift basket, framed photo of us from The Conservatory photo shoot, and the DVD with our photos from The Conservatory photo shoot. It made us feel so very special! Again, we really felt like Rachel and Rob weren't just our photographers but our friends. We just got our photos from the wedding - it only took them about a month - YAY! I can't even explain how happy I am with them! They are seriously the best photos that I have ever seen! After the fourth…read moreattempt of having senior pics taken (one reschedule due to me) I still don't have my sons senior pictures!! Such an important moment in time! Sharon said she would edit the pictures and give them to me two weeks after the shoot. She ran into some health issues. I asked at that time for a refund, she said no. I asked her to stop editing the pictures and provide a refund, she said no. I asked her to give me the UNEDITED pictures and we call it a day, she said no. I asked she give me what was already done, she said no. THREE months later- no pictures! She is no longer responding to my communication. She has been paid in full ( per her contract) and I have no pictures. So I guess she enjoys being a shady business women and stealing from clients. DON'T DO BUSINESS W/ her!
