Having been a member of a very similar church in the Detroit metro area, I was hoping to witness…read morethe same positive characteristics: freedom in Christ from man's traditions, simplicity of biblical truth, and a passionate love for God, His people and the lost. The "pastor" taught on the Lord's last supper with His apostles and stated that the disciples had no idea what Passover was supposed to be about. (Huh?) Then both he and the amazingly uneducated youth pastor continued to make incorrect references to basic old testament people and events. Its almost as if they'd never read their Bible. Suffice it to say, it was difficult to stop myself from screaming out and choking these idiots who claim to be teachers of God's truth. I have no idea why this congregation has become popular over the last twenty years. Perhaps it started well and became a cool trend or perhaps it's just another avenue for people to "hear what their itching ears want to hear" for they are merely "blind guides leading the blind." Perhaps when the told me (in writing) that if doctrine was important to me I should go somewhere else, they really meant, "If you actually know your Bible you won't be able to stomach our ignorance."
