In 2007, Otis and Fen came into my life. I was about to get married and I thought a pet would prepare us in some way for raising a child. Things didn't go as planned but it wasn't all bad. I lived in New York, Boston, L.A., Phoenix, and further east of San Francisco (a bucket list city) then I'd like. I'm not really that adventurous but that's where the job took me. Yet what made all this change easier was being us three. For 18 years, Otis was part of our pack. I read 18 years is a gift but my friend's Pomeranian, Frisco (funny enough), lived to 25. Loving their teeth brushed and making it to 25 were my fur kid goals. Then Otis was suddenly dying of kidney failure. There were clues if my old vet looked or if I had known what to look for. But now, we had crossed the Rubicon. Right before he passed, Otis mustered the strength to stand up in his little bed, put his paw on my arm, and rest his head against my chest. It was like he was telling me good-bye and to let him go. After he passed at the new vet's office, I took Otis home. Once I got him home, I felt maybe I wasn't ready to face this. I wasn't used to dealing with death and I wasn't sure how. I recalled a Tennessee Williams play about a woman crazy with grief. I don't remember the details but I think families in the South washed the body when a family member died as part of the grieving process. I placed Otis in the laundry room sink. It was strange at first but there was something profoundly tender about washing his little paws and gently rinsing the water from his head like a baby's baptism. We lose a little dignity in the end so I gave his back. As I blew dry his hair, he became young and beautiful again. It was hard to believe he had been sick as he looked like he was sleeping. I laid him in his bed and told him what a good boy he had been, how much we all loved him, how I felt he was happier on the other side, and to come back to me when I get there. I cut a lock of his hair, tied it with a blue ribbon, made an imprint of his paw from a kit, placed him in a box by the air conditioner, and took him to the crematory in the morning. John was out of town so his sister drove me there. When we arrived, I was impressed that a place that took care of pets was as nice as a place that took care of people. I wasn't expecting that because vet offices offer to handle this so I assumed it's because pet crematories aren't places pet parents want to see. Yet this place was as clean, light and airy as a Protestant church. I believe the lady we worked with was Elizabeth. She was very kind and professional. She helped me with the paperwork and their beautiful urn selection. She also set Otis up in a private room so I could say my last goodbye. Towards the end, I was very tired from my lack of sleep and spent from the emotional intensity. But I also felt relief that I had taken him to a place where I felt his remains would be handled respectfully. A week later, we were called to pick up his ashes. I don't know if I will release his ashes at a later date. But for now, his ashes are with me and Fen like we're still us three. Thank you for all your help.

We just had to let our Tootsie of 17 years go over that rainbow bridge. Probably one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. My husband Chase is in the same line of work(ish) and recommended we go with them. I am so glad I did. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left and then came back to get her ashes we were treated with respect and understand and most of compassion. Being in this line of work would have to "toughen" one up but not them, the understanding we got and really heart felt sympathy. I highly recommend this business for your pups needs when it comes that hard time. We did have Dr. Sarah come to our house to help us help Toots cross over. That is a decision I will never regret. Caring Pet Crematory recommended her from their page. Thank you Everyone for Everything!

It's so hard to say goodbye to your furry baby. I always dreaded the day, I would have to say goodbye and never wanted that day to come. Timmy was part of my life for 17 wonderful years and I would change that for the world. So it was comforting to find a crematory for him without having to go through the vet. I contacted Caring Pet to make an appointment to bring Timmy in. I didn't need an urn as I was ordering my own. I arrive and I just sat in the car crying holding Timmy as this was one of the hardest things I had to do in my life. I wasn't ready to let him go. Once I pull myself together. One of the staff opened to the door to greet me before I got to the door. The staff is very comforting and wasn't pushy at all. I was asked it I wanted to have more time with Timmy, but I declined as it was so hard. They explained my options of individual cremation if want his remains back or communal cremation with is the cheaper route and you will not receive the remains back. I went with the individual and they charged based on the weight of your furbaby. The inside almost looks like a funeral home but without the creepy vibes. They do sell urns and necklaces. They can cut your pets fur and nails for you if you as a keep sake as well as take you their paw print. The service is pretty quick and they do offer same day cremations for a small additional fee. Overall I highly recommend Caring Pet Cremation for your fur babies final arrangements.

Craig arranged Remedy so Jake and I could say our final goodbye.

I can not say enough good things about the service I received at the Caring Pet Crematory. My little old lady chose to transition on her own volition in the middle of the night. I carefully wrapped her in one of her favorite blankets, and in the morning went to the task of trying to figure out what to do. Craig (the owner) met me on a Sunday, and patiently helped me with all the choices of how to keep her remains. He arranged Remedy in a private viewing room and allowed me and my other dog all the time I needed to say goodbye. I am beyond grateful for all the love and care that myself and my little dog received and I hope more pet guardians have the option to have their beloved fur family members memorialized so beautifully.

Nobody wants to ever be in this position but here I am. After unexpectedly losing my beloved cat of 13 years Bug, I had to look up cremation services.... Enter Caring Pet. **deep sigh** The whole process was so sad, but the team here did a phenomenal job walking me through it. From start to finish Olivia was the primary person I interacted with, and she was not only helpful but pleasant and a calming presence during a very difficult time. For the initial call Olivia was sure to inform me how to bring my precious pet in, she informed me to put him in a box or bag and scheduled an appointment for the following day. Once I arrived, I entered the building not knowing exactly where to bring him in so they informed me to bring the box in. *** CUE TEARS**** The owner must have seen me in shambles as he followed me out and generously offered to carry the box inside of the establishment. Whew I definitely thought all the tears had flowed but walking into the building made things so much more real, Olvia walked me through the paperwork, signed everything and I was offered the opportunity to sit with my poor Bug for a bit before leaving him. A few days later I returned to pick up the remains and they were given to me in a sealed urn with my information written, in a bag, with a signed bereavement card from the entire staff which honestly was so beyond thoughtful. One thing I will say is I appreciate the fact this place did not try and upsell me on the many offerings they had. So many beautiful urns, different ways have paw prints and hair clippings saved, etc. That was one thing I told myself before I arrived was don't allow my grief to allow me to spend outrageously and I can always get additional things like a different urn, etc at a later date. I did get the paw ink print and it was worth every dollar. If you do find yourself in need of these type of services (First, sorry for the loss of your beloved companion) but this place will definitely take care of you and your pet with dignity at an affordable price.

Compassionate services, beautiful presentation box. About a 2 week turnaround time, that I would have liked to be a bit quicker.

Alex was kind, compassionate and stayed late so we could take home our beloved 13 year old lab the same day.

I am now waiting to get the ashes back from my precious cat, Winchester. I loved that there was no hard sale. He showed me what they had to offer and when I said I had just had to get a new roof on my house and was having to rebuild my savings. He never said another word. Some people would just keep pushing for a sale, but Jason was very understanding he just nodded his head. When I was getting ready to leave, I had my cat covered because I couldn't look at him that way anymore, but I put my hand on the towel that had covered him and then a kiss. I told him I loved him. Jason then came over and gave me a hug and then I cried even more. That gesture met so much to me. And their prices were so much more reasonable than other places and I'm retired and on a fixed income, so this was also a big help. Now I just have to go back and pick up his ashes and that's going to be just as hard I think as leaving him there in the first place. I did decide to spend a little extra money and get his paw prints. He was a special boy and now I'm crying again as I write this. Thank you for taking such good care of me and I know my boy was handled with compassion and kindness.
