From the moment I walked in to get samples of your cakes to the moment we served the gorgeous cake to our guests we have been blown away with everything. Beyond our expectations! We couldn't help ourselves then to stop our adventure and gone looking for the source where the luscious amora was coming from. Tugged away at the corner was the hidden gem. As soon as we entered the door, the entire store filled with sweet & savory delights, and the view of delicacy behind the glass cases were alluring. I came across chocolate macaroons. Service was okay but the so called apple strudel was the worst I've ever had. Besides being under cooked, lacking normal sweetness & cinnamon it was not enjoyable in the least. Try something else it would have to be better. FYI I've had dozens of apple strudel most were great this one can't be recommended. read more

Piggy back on Leslie's review, I still can't get over the fact that the cake looked so horrible that my son did not recognized it. He only found out that it was lankybox after reading the writing. When I opened the box, I was speechless that I wanted to scream. Here we are creating great memories, celebrating my son's birthday with his cousins by the beach, but seeing this cake was a downer. Since I didn't want my son to get more disappointed, I just cut the cake in a hurry so that he can forget about the design and just eat it. We ended up throwing away more than half of it coz it was dry and not good at all. I paid $149 and was kinda hoping that even though they used buttercream instead of fondant, cake will still look like the lankybox. Or at least close to it. This shouldn't be $149, not even $50. They offered me a cake of my choice anytime I want after I told them I was very disappointed. But if it's going to look like this, then I'll pass. Was gonna order from the other bakery where I ordered his cake last year but she was completely booked. And I tried to order 1 month prior! Flourless chocolate cake is a no-go. Ordered one this week and have never seen anything like it. The whole thing was covered by a thick layer of hard chocolate, almost as thick as a chocolate bar. Stopped in for some birthday cupcakes for my daughter this morning shortly after they opened (around 6:30) and was immediately greeted by a kind gentleman who welcomed us in, asked if he could get a coffee or latte started for us while we browsed the cake options. Let me explain: We reside in northern CA and were planning a Legoland visit that would fall on my husband's birthday so I needed to find a bakery that could deliver (to the Legoland Castle hotel) delicious pastries in the morning and make a second evening delivery of a very specific birthday cake. After much research and many a phone call, I found Carlsbad Danish bakery! Susan and her staff worked with me over the phone to curate a list of their most delicious pastries and guaranteed delivery (for a very reasonable fee) by 8 a.m on our selected date. I also needed a marble cake with whipped cream frosting, and fresh strawberries with strawberry glaze and chocolate shavings delivered separately in the evening - Susan was up to the task, she reported she knew exactly what I wanted and was extremely patient when answering my questions and taking my order. The day finally arrived and as agreed her staff delivered our morning pastries which included: almond croissants, chocolate croissants, cinnamon custard coffee cake and Copenhagen square to name a few. Every single one of these pastries was absolutely delicious! Later that evening, Susan delivered the cake herself and there are absolutely no words to describe how scrumptious it was!!! It was moist, full of flavor and with the freshest, sweetness strawberries I have had in a long time. Her very own whipped cream is the stuff that dreams are made of. The flakey, buttery layers in the croissants and cruffin were the best I've eaten outside of France (and I get around). We stopped for breakfast as we were leaving the coast. We shared a savory, warmed croissant filled with mushrooms, brie, and spinach and we each ate a Nutella 'cruffin' -- buttery, laminated croissant dough shaped in a muffin tin and stuffed with Nutella. Alongside the delicious Lavazza coffee, it made an excellent breakfast. Afterwards, we went back inside to order 4 more items to bring home to the desert. I've not found croissant to compare anywhere in the Coachella Valley. The ambiance is a bit of a mom and pop beach dive - clean and cozy - and the food is the absolute star. read more

Perfectly done, wonderfully robust flavors. The almond croissant was out of this world. The outer layer turned into something like almond candy. So good.
