Meanwhile, the monthly force-placed insurance was added to the loan, which increased monthly payments from 262 to 391 to 500 per month without my knowledge. I had lost my only son, going through cancer treatments, chemo and 26 radiation treatments. I had to use all my savings to attempt to pay off this loan while on SSI disability. I spoke with Kyle of AACU the other day, he said if I pay off the loan early, I have to pay a per diem, which basically amounts to a daily penalty for the credit union taking 3-4 days to process my final payment. What on God's green earth is going on that a CU is preying on individuals like me? I said no, Kyle, I should be paying less than the $3,5000 (2011 Dodge Caliber) as the interest has not accrued yet. Once I make the final payment on this car, this means I have paid nearly 10,000 since January 2025. My daughter got me obligated to pay with a predatory lender, Air Academy Credit Union. Please be aware of AACU and other financial institutions that use these types of business practices. Air Academy Credit Union, please delete my name, contact info and SS# never contact me again unless there's civil lawsuit against you all. You all need a Zero for lack of customer service and vicious predatory lending practices!
