Great facility. Very clean. The prices are very ridiculous. I get that you need to make money but this is gouging.

Great, clean laundromat with good equipment and everything we needed to do some laundry during our extended stay in this wonderful town.

This spot should be your last option. It's 25$ to wash and dry your clothes! I had three smaller loads 1 blacks, 1 whites, 1 colors, that's 15$ to start off. 24 min later we head over to the dryers and dump another 10$ into the dryers. Get this: .25 cents gets you 4 min! These dryers take 1 min to get up to temp so you get 3 min of heat! But this will drive you bonkers, the dryers stop and take a break every 30 seconds!!!! Yep! They stop spinning your clothes every 30 seconds and they just sit there doing nothing for a 3-5 second count! I've never ever seen that and never ever heard any specialist are laundry service ever talk about the secret benefits of paying for 4 min of dry time but getting 20 seconds of nothing and that's 20 seconds EVERY quarter! You'll need on average 10$ of quarters to dry 6 loads which is only 3 loads of laundry all split into two dryer loads in an attempt to dry the clothing for less time and money. Most dryers run the entire time you pay for and most dryers are 8 min for a quarter. This place is double the rate and here is a sign they know it's priced high, ask for quarters with a 10$ bill in your hand and the attendant will slide a cup filled with quarters across the table. Yep, they preload 10$ in quarters into little recycled laundry lids making perfect little cups to transport the 10$ it's going to cost you to dry your clothing. They are the only laundry mat in town but it's almost the same price to drive over the hill find another laundry mat, treat yourself to lunch, do your laundry and fill the gas tank and there's a good chance the sun is shining over the hill instead of being in the fog. In short : this facility is pricing itself out of existence as soon as people realize the laundry experience feels better else where. read more

Took in 2 sofa cushion covers for dry cleaning. The attendant gave me a ticket that indicated I could pick it up on Wednesday. It was not ready on that tWednesday as the dry cleaning takes 2 weeks to come back from another facility. As she didn't put down a date only checked off the day, how was to know. Nice clean laundromat in Carmel's hoity-toity neighborhood. They have a coin change machine and soap and softener too. Your top loaders are $3.75 a load. The 3 machines to the left are $10 loads (I think). I think the dryers are .25 cents for 3 minutes (wtf! I'm so used to them costing .25 for 7 minutes or more. Several large tables for folding, laundry carts are a plenty. Chairs to sit and wit while your stuff washes. In a cute part of Carmel and lots to see and do here. You can hang out while things wash or take a stroll to the shops. read more

Prices are misleading. $4.25 for light soil, $4.50 for medium soil and $4.75 for heavy soil. The dryer only gives you 3 mins per quarter. It was nice being the only one in there. read more

Spent over $30 on drying and still wet. .25 cents for 3 minutes dryers. Huge machines are $10 , newer small machines are $5 & Older small machines $4.50. Clean and well kept, but divide your laundry up in smaller loads to dry your clothes fully. read more

I marked this one down with hesitation. The parking lot is small, so you have to get there early in the morning. Also there was not an attendant available. I had attempted to buy laundry detergent but the coin machine did not provide me with detergent nor return my money. Having a attendant available is necessary in case you have questions or laundry machine eats your money. I should point out this is a clean place and the equipment works and there's plenty of room within this facility. The cost of using a Washing machine is five dollars. This cost is significantly higher than other laundromats located in Marina. nevertheless I do recommend this laundromat if you're in Carmel. read more

This is a good laundry facility. Lots of room. Lots of machines. I think this is the only laundromat in Carmel so I sincerely appreciate the ability to do my laundry. But like everything it's too expensive. I suggest visiting during the week. I can imagine Saturday being busy. read more

The laundromat in Carmel is clean and in my experience has never been too busy. Tonight I am the only one in here. It costs $3.50-$4 to wash and drying is $0.25 for every 4 min. So it typically costs me $1.50 to dry. There is a change machine that takes $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills but you must have cash or coins, no credits cards. There is also soap, bleach, and softeners available for $1. There seems to be enough parking outside as well. I gave it 3 stars for the price. I think it's a little to spendy for the wash cycles. And would be nice to have a credit card option. However, I will be returning. read more

Do NOT bother to go to this business if you like quality and value your money. I put $20 in the machine, and it did not dispense. I left a message and didn't get a response for 5 hours. The owner finally called and insulted me, and essentially accused me of lying to him about my having put the $ in. There was a huge puddle of soapy water on the ground that presented a clear safety issue. Because the owner is non-responsive - who knows when it got cleaned up. Shame on him. My father owned a laundromat when he was alive, and he was never more than 10 minutes away from his business, and never, ever questioned a customer's integrity. THIS OWNER NEEDS TO LEARN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO THERE!! This business does not even deserve one star. read more

This laundry mat saved our bacon! On a two month road trip and desperate for clean clothes, we wandered into a number of laundry places (and walked out again) until we found Carmel Laundry. The change machine made it easy to feed the washer and dryers, all of which seemed to be in great shape. The place was clean and provided a nice environment to sit and wait. They have baskets for transferring clothes to dryers, plenty of folding areas, and detergent you can buy if needed. read more

I like this place a lot. Very clean, almost always can get parking right near the place. they have two large machines that do a ton of clothes at once for a very reasonable price. I think 4 or 4.50 per load. The smaller machines are $2.25. The dryers run quite well a quarter does 7 minutes but you really usually only need .75 cents worth for most of your clothes. No one really to disturb you and unlike Monterey you don't get the creepy drunk guy from the bar next door. Or in PG the homeless guy talking to himself or yelling at you. (don't get me wrong I spare the change for the guy, but he does go a little biserko) read more

You pay your money, you take your chances. Half of the washing machines are very old. All of them are expensive. Most expensive are the dryers. The last time I was there they cost $.25 for five minutes, and I've heard that they've gone up since. While that's very overpriced to begin with, the fact that the dryers work very poorly really sticks it to you. Their highest heat setting is warm at best. I've had it take over 45 minutes to dry a single flannel sheet. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Sometimes I think that its main function is as a laundry facility for the hotel above, which is owned by the same people, and that they don't really care about what goes on there; it's just a way of collecting tons of quarters. On the other hand, they keep it very clean. It's a very tidy place to be ripped off. read more

I was cycling from San Francisco to Los Angeles and stopped at Carmel by the sea for the night . I have to disagree with the older reviews - this facility is great. The facility and machines are clean, the washers work well, and there are 12 gas dryers that work exceptionally well. My clothes were dry in 12 minutes(.25/4min) the facility has a sign claiming new gas dryers and indeed they were new and worked perfectly. The only complaint I have is that the place has local and tourist ' machine hogs' who will occupy several machines at the same time. Go off hours to avoid the rudeness. read more

Always quiet and clean. Reasonably priced compared to other laundry mats in Monterey & PG. They do have a quarter change machine but do not accept credit cards or have an ATM, which is pretty inconvenient. I ran out of cash the last time I was there and had to leave my laundry and drive 4-5 blocks down to the nearest market to get cash back. Go with enough cash! Also, although it is tucked away in Carmel, several times there has been a homeless woman sitting in there, either quietly minding her own business or approaching you to ask for change. It's very awkward and as its not a busy place, with no security cameras, can feel a bit uneasy. Overall, it's a good place though and they've never kicked me out when my laundry has gone over their closing time hours! read more

Expensive and you have to hope you don't plan your laundry day the same as the hotels because they take up all the machines forever. Had to wait so long for a dryer. Also there are only 3 parking spots which are often taken up by the hotel people as well. I'm not coming back, not convenient nor cheap. read more
