We were so excited to get a new coffee spot in tradition. We went opening weekend which was definitely chaotic and had long waits but the management made up for it. Since then it's slowed down and has been just as good. We've gotten a bunch of different options for coffees while we are there and loved everyone of them. We've had some of their toast options, breakfast sandwich, and my personal favorite the chorizo and mushroom shakshuka. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The inside has a great cozy coffee shop vibe. They now have a kiosk that you can use to order from as well. read more

I think most camela coffee locations in Florida look pretty similar. This new location has plenty of seating both inside and outside. Nice coffee themed decorations and an overall vibe that would be great to meet a friend for coffee. My server was sorta rushing me to order although they didn't have a line so I thought that was kind of strange. The matcha is hand whisked and the barista really took her time which I loved. The empanada tasted like an average beef empanada but I did enjoy it! I'd come back for the matcha alone ! read more

Rating them a 3.5, I have tried this place multiple times and still can't manage to give them a higher score considering everything. They have specialty drinks menu depending on the season but still charge you for the individual syrups and milks that are included with the specialty drinks that you end up spending 9+ dollars for a cup of coffee. The coffee is good but not 9+ dollars good. The food is just okay, the banana bread is great though. The service varies at times, not consistent. The ambiance is calm the decoration makes you want to stay and sit to study or talk over coffee. Overall the aesthetic, the cleanliness and the coffee are good. read more

I stopped by Carmela's coffee shop New Year's Day while visiting family and was impressed. It's well run and efficient, with the option to order at a kiosk or the counter, and the quirky details, like using celebrities and quotes instead of order numbers, made it fun and memorable. The menu is creative, the space is welcoming for working with plenty of outlets and comfortable seating, and the staff made the atmosphere feel inviting. I loved my caramel ginger snap latte (a unique find) and the salmon and cream cheese toast with cucumber and added avocado hit the spot perfectly. My daughter liked her matcha latte which is a difficult feat, but wasn't as impressed with the blueberry oatmeal, or the hardness of her bread served with the nutella & strawberries. WOW! What a nice change of pace for coffee,tea and food. They have a kiosk to place and pay so that you don't need to get on line. I opted for peach chamomile hot tea. They place several bags of tea in hot water for a bit of time prior to handling it to the customer. Very delicious and you can taste the peach. Lots of coffee choices and I was extremely surprised about the choices for breakfast and lunch. After order placed while you are on line the food when ready is delivered to your table. Every staff member is phenomenal they are very happy and efficient and super friendly. I hope one day they make a cinnamon tea which I have had at another location of the coffee house. One issue for me was cost a bit higher than I expected. But it is worth it in the end. I will be back as I really thought the experience was great! read more

Sadly, since my original review (5*) Carmela's has changed, and not for the better. Originally it had a suburban indie vibe but over time that has shifted to a more corporate atmosphere (Not quite as sad as Starbucks but headed in that direction). There has been significant staff turnover. Staff who knew us, knew our orders as we walked to the counter are all gone apparently not fitting in to the Carmela's ethos somehow. The quality of espresso drinks is wildly inconsistent. The music is sometimes loud and discordant. And at least in the morning, the staffing is thin. To their credit, they are willing to adapt dishes to meet dietary needs and preferences which is appreciated but when it comes to espresso based drinks you had best stick to the basics and even then expect some variability read more

I have a really hard time spending over $20 on a coffee and toast when the service is awful. Hire a bunch of HS students that stand around and don't empty bus pans, don't bus the tables, and don't take orders. Better off just skipping and going to Starbucks. read more

what a disappointment. service was very slow. My sandwich was pretty good but my wife's tuna melt was lousy. We figured out why service was slow. Rather than say we are out of tuna staff was sent to Aldi's for a can of tuna and a bottle of mayo. when asked why we weren't served yet the response is everything is made to order. I had great experiences up until today and this past weekend. I have been ordering things the same way every time I come in and today they did it all different even though I ordered it a certain way. I spoke to the manager yesterday when I was here and had no issues, he was a great guy. Today was horrible. In addition to not getting what I want the girl behind the counter was rather rude and had quite the attitude. Wanted to try it for a quick coffee and pastry this morning. Only 3 or 4 people in line ahead of us. Couple in front took 10 minutes to order from the printed menu by the cash out. Manager was helping(train?)attendant while taking the order. Taking way too much time(never looked up to say anything i.e. sorry it's taking so long). Only 1 cash out station...not that busy but still waiting. Ordered 2 coffees and croissant... Then they told us to find a seat and the order will be brought to us. Took another 8-10 minutes to get it. Needed cream but didn't have any available to help ourselves...had to wait for a line person to look our way to get some from behind the counter. Manager was standing behind the line...never looked over at us...we were just standing by the pick up spot, no one else nearby. Poor customer service by the Manager. Needs some training. Believe me when I say the ordering line was not very busy at all...Don't think we'll be back. read more
