Well, what can I say? I was in Florida on vacation and decided I needed a haircut. I researched a few places that welcomed walk-ins and decided on this family owned barber shop. I stopped in and was pleasantly impressed with the welcoming atmosphere. I was greeted right away and seated immediately for a haircut. There were two barbers working at the time, with one being the owner and the other his daughter (while I was getting my cut the barber cutting my hair introduced herself as the owners' daughter). She was very friendly and cut my hair to my specifications. They clearly know what they're doing. It was a great cut with clean lines, good attention to detail, and they actually listen to what you ask for instead of just doing their own thing. Overall I had a wonderful experience there. As I was getting my cut more customers showed up, and I was glad I got there early. Just a little tidbit of information that I got lucky with my timing and if I arrived a little later I probably would have had to wait, so plan accordingly. The shop itself is clean, laid-back, and has a good vibe without trying too hard. Overall, this is a reliable spot if you want a quality cut from barbers who take pride in their work. Hurray!!!! Finally found a GREAT barbershop!! Had tried a place over by European Village, a few times, since moving here last year, but it just never worked out. Was feeling a little concerned and was also a good bit overdue for a haircut, and after searching here a few times, got a follow-up email from Yelp and there it was! Only really ever seem to have the weekend for such extravagance as getting oneself a haircut and Saturdays are the only days some places are open on the weekends, when we usually have other pressing commitments, but finally found a way to break free! Got there as early as possible and was relieved to see a good crowd waiting and a sign-in sheet at the door. Only waited about twenty minutes and was fortunate to have the person for whom the shop is named :-) What a gracious gentleman and very patient as well. He was kind enough to take the time to figure out what was not only wanted but what was needed too. What a relief!!! Had the same barber for 24 years, before we moved here and it has taken about a year and a half, but have found the barber and am so grateful!!! read more

Stopped by a few weeks ago as I'm new to the palm coast area. The service was poor, the fade I asked for wasn't faded in correctly. The lineup was left crooked and my beard trim was left patchy and full of rashes. I don't think this place maintains their equipment up to date / nor clean. Highly disappointed. read more

Easy pace barber. Few thrills or any of that extra stuff that inflates the cost of your cut. Just a solid cut with some down to earth folks. Cash only. A PNC Bank is right across the street. Enjoyed that the dude cutting my hair did alot of work with scissors instead of just the straight buzz-and-go i get at the other places. But truth be told, i didn't really like the hair cut once it was done, and wasnt sure how else to direct him to make it better. I would give them another shot though, and would come back with a 5 star rating if I walked out enjoying what i looked like. read more

Walked in, waited in line for an hour. Finally got to where I was next and Carmelo tells me he is going to get the guy who came in after me because "he is here for me". Yet the ironic part is, I went to a Carmelos barber shop to get my hair cut by anyone even Carmelo. Its almost a Jerry Seinfeld skit because it is so ridiculous. I go to Carmelos to get passed up on by Carmelo?? It isn't his stout buisness practice that makes his business a successful buisness. Outside of a retirement community his buisness would fail. The two older gentlemen sitting next to me didn't have praise for his buisness either. They lost my buisness and the sad fact is, Carmelo wouldn't care about losing anyones buisness. read more

My husband is unable to shave himself. When I called Carmelo's, I was thrilled that he does shaves as well as haircuts. My husband was so happy after his shave he looks forward to going back again and again. Carmelo is, and there is no other was to put it, an artist. Just a good old fashion barber shop...as they should be. Got a great haircut, they take thier time you never feel like they are rushing to get you in and out of the chair. Great attention to detail, it feels like they are always double checking thier work. Carmelo listens to you and cuts exactly how you ask, of course ensuring the end product looks good. He'll take however long it takes and uses razors, scissors, buzzers, and clippers to get it done. Took my grandson, who has kinky hair, to this place for a trim. Carmelo, the owner, and two other barbers were cutting hair. We had to wait for Carmelo to cut his hair, because the barber that opened up did not know how to cut kinky hair. The third barber looked weird--like a southern redneck. Sorry, but it's true.
