It is a chocolate desert filled with peanut butter that is one of the most delicious deserts we've had. Next time I'm in Thunder Bay I'll be going back to Nucci's. Very reasonable portions and prices coupled with freshness and great taste - this is probably the best cafe I've been to including ones in Ottawa and Toronto. The girl who answered took my order and was very pleasant. I did have to call store again to get a invoice and it turns out that I was billed twice for the same order and had to call back several times to get it sorted out. The gentleman in accounts was rude, cut me off when trying to explain about online and was not very nice. Made me feel like it was my fault for using online and thats why I was billed twice. He did not even want to try and correct the online issue but instead answered abruptly and said they will look into. It did get it sorted out eventually but what a task to get a meat tray delivered. I will think twice ordering anything like that again from there.

It is a heavenly sugar bomb that is exclusive to Thunder Bay. Local Thunder Bay diners will also serve a toasted persian as well, where they cut it in half lengthwise and cook it on a grill, "grilled cheese sandwich" style. There are a few places where you can get persians, but Persian Man is one of the better places. It's location is off Balmoral, and it is definately worth the trip for a little piece of heaven on earth.

The croissants (Saturdays only) and the blueberry ginger loaf (gluten free) are TO DIE FOR. Seriously, so yummy, I didn't even know the loaf was gluten-free the first time I got it.. I would love to know the recipe! As for their drinks, I usually get an Americano which is consistently good. But I've also gotten a latte and mocha (made with real chocolate) before and they were also wonderful. Best of all, all proceeds from their sales go towards supporting the women's shelter. I love supporting this business.

What's extra cool is that it's inside a beautiful church with beautiful stained glass windows and the employees are actually volunteers who give their time and the profits go to the church to be used for the community (apparently they're building a youth community center in town). I don't go to church, but it was so peaceful being there. It's definitely an experience--not your typical coffeeshop visit. I wish we had a church-coffeeshop-bakery all in one where I live. My only complaint is, okay two actually: 1) have a plastic lid that covers your baked goods from the flies 2) please don't play the same playlist--even if it was pretty music--every day; I was there every day for a week and was almost going out of my mind, haha.
