Very very satisfied with lunch today while in the area visiting Parc du Cinquantenaire. We were looking for a place to eat and came across this as we exited Metro Merode station. Checked with Yelp and thanks to Yelpers for confirming our choice. Ambiance was warm and welcoming. Server was very friendly and helped recommend some dishes. We ordered the *Steamed Clams: cooked in diced onions and celery, it tasted so fresh and sauce/soup was pure and simple not altered with tomatoes nor strong herbs. Wished we had bread to sop it up instead of fries. Don't understand how mussels pair up well with fries. But I guess that's the Belgian style. *Belgian Meatballs served in tomato sauce: this dish is familiar almost like Italian meatballs less the spaghetti. It is very good but some pasta would be nice. *Filet de Tilapia Gratiné, Epinards at Pommes au Four: this is from the Plat du Jour (Special of the Day). Stopped in here as it was convenient to the Park and museums we were visiting. Wanted to like this place more since they had multiple vegan options. The vegan burger looked great to start with a nice mushroom and onion sauce but inside was a fully pink beyond meat puck. I just took the patty out and ate the bun with mushroom sauce. Fries were good with multiple sauces (only 'ketjep is vegan). Service was typical European pace. Overall feels like this place could be solid if they just put in a little more effort. read more

We've come here a couple times a years for more than a decade and a half. Kind of a comfy local hangout. The food seems like it was better many years ago. The last few times including tonight seems more bland. Vol au vent ok with a little pepper in the sauce. Not very fresh chicken. Frites so so. Freshly cooked bit not very crispy. Croquette des crevettes more croquette than crevette. The croquette wasn't very cheesey and the crevettes well it was not very nice how the eating party had described it in French. The best thing here are the Xmas wild animal specials, which were not on tonight's menu, and the Movenpick ice cream. Meh. Meh. That's what francophone lambs say. read more

Quickly greeted at the door, when we told them we were just there for drinks, they lost all interest in us. Took us ages to order our drinks. With so many places to spend our money & enjoy good beer, I don't see why we would come back. Places who want to serve you no matter what you order shall receive our custom. read more

A bit disappointed with the service and staff here. They weren't very helpful, accommodating or present at all. The food was ok, not good or great, but it was a place to eat after touring Brussels all day. I had the pasta and a side of garlic shrimp, my brother and cousins had the soup and fries and the New Delhi panini. They also said that the food was just ok. Prices were moderate (between 13-15 euros a dish). Not much more to say about the lackluster restaurant and service, except that they should have a little better service and hire some better staff. read more

Great selection of wine and excellent traditional food. I had the Tagliatelle 3 Frommage, which is a three-cheese ribbon pasta dish. Our table also got the vegetable lasagne, which was FANTASTIC, as well as a goat cheese and tomato starter (also wonderful). I will bring friends here and will have them try the lasagne. A plus here is that they serve Orval Trappist beer. They were out by the time we arrived, but that is not surprising as Orval is a tough-to-find excellent Belgian beer. read more

Ok this is the best restaurant I have tried. The service is great, and so is the food. When you ask for the meat to be cooked well done, they sort of do it a bit less than well done, but other than that... Excellent all round restaurant. read more

Absolute not coming back! Despite the warning, we desided to try this place, due to holidays several places were closed. We ordered our food, it came really fast and so far all good. In the middle of the dinner my friend discovered a black hair in her food. The waitress wasn't too keen on to take of that. We got it reduced from our bill however. Later I discovered I got food poisoning from this place and spend the night on toilet floor. Carpe diem to be avoided! read more

Went here just for a drink with friends, so I can't comment on the food but I can tell you this is a very nice place to enjoy a drink on their terrass when the sun is shining! Good service and reasonably priced given the location. Will come here again for a drink, maybe dinner as Carpe Diem seems to have some good reviews! read more

Very good, although chicken was on the vegetarian menu. The vegetarian lasagne was well worth it and the wine was excellent value
