I went there and ordered carpet for my stairs. It was a lot of money but she said it was such good quality. That is probably true but the installation was terrible. Buckles all over. They came back and fixed it. It looks okay but they did not staple down the sides I don't want to deal with the guy Alec ever again. He was so condescending and so annoying to deal with. So I went to carpet depot in Oceanside on a whim , as I have always used another company for my carpets. I figured they may be less pricey. I was wrong- the sales lady was nice and helpful- but tried to charge me$1300.00 for a 10x12 area rug. She "reduced" the price to$850.00, saying she would give up her commission. The rug finally came after 2 1/2 weeks and it was the wrong color. They apologized and sent me a new rug 2 weeks later that was also wrong. I requested a refund. read more

We then asked for them to come after 12pm bc we had work and they said they would put it in the notes and never did, so the guys showed up in the morning. The salesperson was aggressive, but prices were good. Pressured to leave deposit. Should've taken that as a bad sign. The basement floor was not prepped correctly and you could feel unevenness and debris under the carpet. Called to ask them to resolve. They sent two workers and said it was the "floors fault." They fixed one small area of unevenness, but not the rest of the 20 spots. They charged me $200 asking for cash. A good carpet installer would not put carpet pad over uneven subfloors as they will wear unevenly and could cause accidents. We will have to hire another company to do what they should have done in the first place - fix the uneven spots on the floors by using a leveling agent before the installation. Additionally, they laid the vinyl flooring down over screws that were in the floor and they are now popping through the flooring. See photo. Not happy, have had much better experiences having carpeted many rooms before with other companies like Home Depot. Poor quality work, materials and lack of courtesy. I wish I read the other reviews! BEWARE. I live locally and obtained flooring and installation from the Oceanside location for a few rentals 2 years ago and my experience with Lissette (salesperson in Oceanside, NY) was amazing, so I returned to choose a vinyl flooring for a small area of my home. Lissette was and remains an asset to this company, but the owners and management need a crash course in responsiveness, reliability and accountability. The company overcharged me, charged me for "padding" and glued the reducers to my tile floor. Glue. The first installer covered my electrical outlets on the floor and walked off the job after ripping it up, destroying half the tiles and tearing the "padding" which was basically black paper. The second installer installed the broken materials, did not replace the "padding" and left a substantial bounce and drop in the floor. I spent 2-3 weeks allowing a management rep to visit my home to agree with me that the work was shoddy, then waited for a resolution, waited for the son of the owner, Alec to call me back, then waited for the owner of the company to return from skiing in Utah, only to be told - we can come to remove and reinstall the floor for an additional $ 2500. They lied and said they came to pick up the materials and it wasn't outside, then sent me a picture showing the materials were right in the driveway waiting for them. During the last conversation, the owner Steve told me he didn't want the materials and to discard it. Two days later he sent me a demand letter for payment with an altered receipt (hoping I threw out his materials). I will happily store his materials until this is resolved. What a mess. Lastly, I only tried as long as I did because Lissette said they would take the cost of the floor from her salary. I didn't want to hurt her. It wasnt her fault, but I'm thinking now she was part of the manipulation. Note: I could have waited forever for them, but I had to postpone my son's birthday event twice due to this delay. The salesman, Mike, at the Oceanside store was wonderful. This review is because of the Levittown office, responsible for booking appointments and scheduling the installations and also the installation crew themselves. If you need to cancel an appointment, due so within 3 days of the date, because they will not tell you that and they will charge you a $75.00 fee. Enjoy the misery and the attitude from every single person you speak to at the Levittown office. I was told multiple times I would receive a phone call from the owner (Steve) when he returned from vacation on Thursday, January 28th, I never received said phone call. I called again on Friday, still no return call. And now it is Monday at noon and I called and they had no idea when he would be in again. Ridiculous. The installation was done atrociously. The perfectly stained ornate moldings from the early 1950s were destroyed by the installers, impossible to fix or replace. The installers placed metal tool boxes on hardwood floors, leaving scratches, they also propped their tools up all along the freshly painted walls or our new home. Shame on me. I should have listened to ALL the other negative reviews ALL over the internet about this place. I was very disappointed by Carpet Depot. I called to schedule an appointment for measurement and the man was VERY rude and dismissive. Couldn't believe that I would make an appointment when my husband wasn't available. I am more than capable of making the decision. Fast forward to the actual appointment and the guy that took the measurement was quick to get a deposit and was not happy when I said I would like to think about it. He insisted on calling the office to which he then spoke to the guy I had originally booked the appointment with. The conversation was put on speaker and both were trying to convince me or should I say, dismissing me and my every comment. I would never recommend them as I think they are all condescending. read more

They proceeded to come and lay carpet in my home after I asked multiple times to the guy who measures it if my doors were gonna be able to open. Non the less they still installed carpet and the installer was a jackass who left crap all over the place and didn't tell me my doors were rubbing until very end of the job. I called owner who sent a guy to cut doors down and didn't foot the bill. Then I had to buy brand new doors out of pocket and the contractor said he'd be back and never returned to do job. I had to hire a second guy to do the doors. This place is the worst I'll never deal with them again. And no one should ever sign there contract it's just a way for them to do job poorly and not look bad. I give this the lowest rating possible. Better off dealing with other vendors.... read more

Never use!!! The worst experience!!! The person that was sent to take measurements...it seemed like it was his first day on the job. Didn't know how to depict the basement that was being done or take proper measurements I never received a call from anybody in advance on the time of the install. I requested a noon install when I paid, and the installers showed up at 4 with no notice. The installers were very unprofessional; they were cursing and complaining to me about how much work they had to do. They did not complete the work until 11:45! I should have read the other reviews! 1 star seems too generous for this type of service. I walked in to buy carpet but the salesman was too busy on the phone with his feet on the desk. I had to beg him to hang up the phone or else I was leaving because I had to get to work. My stipulation for ordering was to have installation done the following day. He told me to call at 4 pm that day to get my time for installation. I spoke to somebody and was told that I would be the first delivery between 7am at 8am. At 9:30am I called them because they failed to show up, at which point I was told that my installation would be between 12pm-and 2. It's 12:30 and I called again and was told that they will be here in an hour and that there were "unexpected delays." They deny giving me the first appointment of the day. Am I a liar? If you like waiting around in your house on your day off, waiting for people who deny making appointments ---then this is the place for you. Will never buy again. I never got a chance to write a positive review after they installed my carpet just before the holidays last March. Got my den carpet done just in time before furniture had to get delivered. I live in Oceanside. Need I say more. They were great. Recently I went to Carpet Depot assisting older close family friends with no local family. They chose carpet which had to be installed in an apartment co-op building in the Five Towns. While we were there, the salesperson overheard us talking about how our contractor was not panning out. He advised us that Carpet Depot was doing rebuilds and contracting jobs. He introduced me to Bill, their construction manager to talk about doing some minor repairs to the co-op apartment in Lawrence. We ended up using Bill and his crew for painting, sheet rocking, shelf installation and an assortment of other light repairs. The building had very stringent rules regarding required documentation, licensing, and insurance requirements. The staff at the office and Bill came through with everything needed for the job. There were a lot of interdependent components of the job. Due to the severe weather, there was a delay in the manufacture and shipping of the carpet as most better quality carpet comes out of Georgia. The staff at Carpet Depot stayed on top of it, monitoring the shipment progress of the carpet. They received it from the mill and installed it the same day the got it in. The moving company came the very next morning, and everything went smoothly. Dale was installing a shoe rack in the closet, but not until the carpet was installed just in time as the furniture was getting moved in. He even vacuumed the little carpet shreds seconds before the movers went into each room. With the snow that we had this winter there was no way this move with carpet installation could have been done by independent people. And the owner, Steve stopped by the last day the painting was done to check up on the quality. Great all around. read more

With more sales help than customers me and my girl still walked around for 15 minutes without getting any help. A guy at a desk could've cared less if we bought something or walked. We walked and took our money with us. Local businesses cry about keeping the money in the community and then when you walk in they let the money walk out. Was told I was the first install between 8am and 9am but no one ever showed. Called and left message at 930 and received no call back. Called again at 1030 and was told someone would get there by 1130. No apologies or explanation. Who knows if they will even show up at all today. We're paying a ridiculous amount of money to carpet one small room and now I'm having to take an entire day off of work to get it installed. Very unprofessional. I will not use again. read more
