Zero stars are not an option, but after the customer service we just experienced from Carpet Exchange that is the appropriate rating. We were initially pleased with our salesperson, Daniel who offered helpful insight. He came to our house for measurements and physically inspected our EXPOSED flooring, advising of all the proper abatement that would be required prior to install (due to the age of our home and potential asbestos in the vinyl tiles/tack strips). These instructions were followed to a T. We placed the order, and two weeks later, on install day, the crew showed up informing us they could not proceed due to the potential asbestos risk. We did exactly as we were told by their team, and now have been set back weeks in the process. This is a completely unacceptable business practice - sales representatives need to be well informed on these protocols. Daniel should've had a manager or someone else advise on the job if there was any question whatsoever PRIOR to placing an order. There was no accountability or action for misguiding us. Filing a complaint with BBB as it appears many others have done. Buyer beware!! Update: The dishonesty continues as the excuse is now we were told not to remove the tack strips. However the attached invoice has a line item for tack strips. Why would we be charged for them if the existing ones were not to be removed?? completely unwilling to admit fault and do right by the customer. read more

We've been considering updating our floors for a while. We were finally able to put our wish into action and we got our floors installed over the last two weeks. I'm so happy we went with Carpet Exchange. Our flooring came in first - took the crew about 4 days to install it (we were told it could take the full week). Our crew was Nate, James, Cameron, Matt and a couple of others who's names I didn't write down. They were awesome. They were on time, efficient, respectful and did an amazing job. We went with Coretec for our flooring because it was going to be easier to maintain. Looks just like hardwood. Week 2 brought in our carpet. You should know that we had really crappy carpet before. So we spent the money on Karastan - both carpet and padding. I'm soo glad we did. Our carpet is so soft and the cushion on it feels so supple and comfortable!! The crew that brought in our carpet was Cesar and Joel. That's right...a 2-man crew and they put carpet into 6 rooms. Again, this crew was just like the first one. They were on time, they helped move some of our furniture (we took the time to move some of our own stuff to minimize the impact to our floors) and the were fast and efficient. I mean, they put the carpet into all 6 rooms in 1 day. The customer service with this company was exceptional. It started with our first conversation with Cameron who set all of this up and then with the crews that came to our home. We couldn't be happier with our services! The carpet install was a complete disaster. A guy with two kids as an "install crew" is unacceptable, especially when they use our sink as a urinal! It took hours for us to figure out why our entire 2nd floor smelled liked urine. I even showed the "foreman" which bathroom to use. We were quoted a one day job. To me 9:00 am to 9:00 pm job should be broken up into two days. They ended up rushing to get it done and did not clean up after themselves. They also left the doors open all day so I had to get an exterminator to get rid of all the flies in the house. I've tried calling and emailing Mark, the salesperson, several times to get a refund for the furniture moving charge that should have been on the invoice, but he still hasn't addressed it 2 months later. I've tried calling the store several times and nobody ever answers. What a terrible company- I do not recommend them! read more

Crisis adverted! That is what Connie at the Platte River location did for me. I had a few tiles get damaged of a product that isn't kept in stock. Connie went out of her way to track down some samples of the tile that I could use to finish my remodel. This saved me hundreds of dollars in shipping and 3 weeks delay in the project. Had the worst experience with Carpet Exchange customer service. Would give them 0 stars if I could. They are extremely prompt when they call to take your CC information but not when it comes to day-of issues. Unlike other contractors, they take 100% of the payment upfront before the job has been started and then communication ceases completely. They had someone come and measure and the sales person told us it would be a 4 hour job based on the measurements. She confirmed this the day before. We were on a very tight deadline due to travel, and had everything ready to go at our end on the day of installation. The 4 hour job stretched into a 9 hour job and the worst part was that there was no communication, and no one to talk to about why the job was being mis managed time wise. I called the store, explained my problem and got sent to VM. No one called back so two hours later, I called again and was sent to someone else. No response from the store manager, installing agent who sent two contractors to my home who spoke absolutely no English, and we couldn't get any responses out of, and no response from a regional manager who has also supposedly been contacted since. I say supposedly, since they will not give me their number to make a call myself. As for the original sales rep, she is now denying telling us that this was a 4 hour job. Start to finsh this has been a horrible customer service experience. Save yourself time and a headache and go someplace else. read more

Dumb, just dumb. No experiance in anything. Bought a carpet and install for 1 room, sales person came in, looked at it all and told me would be no problem. Installers get here and tell me they WONT do it because of the 9x9 asbestos tiles under the carpet they ripped out. Stopped mid job and left me with a mess to clean up. Now i have to do it all myself. You would think that a company with so much legacy and experiance would know that if your installing a carpet in a house that was built in 61', that there might be asbestos tiles....and maybe warn the customer that this could happen. BUT THEY DIDNT, they booked the job, i waited 2 weeks only to find out that they wont do it. So they may be good at installs, but just know your dealing with slick snake sales people that will do anything to get a sale. read more

We recently had a laminate floor installed. Our sales rep (Jon Shore) was very knowledgeable and helped us understand each product and the minuses and plusses of each. He was very responsive to any requests from us, usually responding in minutes. The tearout and install were both well done, each team very responsive to our requests. I do wish there had been more communication about the time of arrival. But once there they worked hard. I feel this company is very interested in our satisfaction and really wants us as a long term customer. Very easy to work with. read more

We found the wood we wanted and loved it. We ask for a quote for doing the entire flooring job for us. We had already received quotes from others. Their quote came in needing 100 sq ft more than we needed and $2,600.00 more than the flooring company we went with which was Footprint Floors. And after all that they had the wood shipped to their warehouse and would not deliver to our home. We are now required to make arrangements for someone to deliver it to us. Wow! Unless you just have to don't do business with this rip off company. We were stuck because we loved the wood flooring. read more

Recenlty had Carpet Exchange install new carpeting in my bedrooms and I have to say I'm extremely impressed with their entire process. The salespeople I dealt with were super friendly and really knew their products. The installation crew were curteous, made sure to wear masks and arrived in the window the salesperson said they would. Finally, the installation was quite frankly, incredible. Some of the best work I've had performed in my home of any sort. Add this to how competitive their pricing is and honestly this was a no brainer decision. We purchased coretec here for our house a year or so ago and this stuff is amazing! It looks real but is much softer to walk on then the hardwood floors that our dogs destroyed in 6 months. The actual final product was mostly good. The flooring itself is great. There is a squeaky transition the installer just passed off as "normal," but everything else looks good. The installers did a pretty good job of cleaning up and were fast and efficient. It was obvious they knew what they were doing. Despite what I was told, though, they showed up without calling ahead, so I was surprised to see them at my door. They then had to come back to install a door they had left in my dining room, reconnect the dryer, and fix a closet one of them had improperly installed so it wouldn't close. Regarding sales, that part was efficient, but not overly friendly. I felt a bit like I was bothering the experienced, nonchalant sales person. Not a great experience. Will I return for carpet? Maybe, but will at least try another location and a different sales person. read more

Irritated that the customer service rep is now responding here that I received two boxes within three days? No. We got the box that we were owed. And I had to call multiple times to get it, and it took longer than three days. Once we finally got the all clear to drive 40 minutes to pick it up, the warehouse had no idea who we were or where our box was. We bought very expensive carpet (only one more type more expensive) for our house 4 years ago. My wife and I live alone. After less than a year, this carpet began to cornrow. Fibers came out in bunches We called Carpet Exchange and they sent out an "evaluator", who determined that this cornrowing was "not unusual", and denied a claim to replace it. Our carpet is an embarrassment at this time. We have relatives visiting soon, and need to replace this cheap carpet. Do not buy carpet from Carpet Exchange!! Oh, and the installers came back from lunch on the day they installed this carpet reeking of marijuana smoke. Yeah, I know it's legal, but Carpet Exchange should not allow their employees to smoke on the job! Suggest you avoid this company!! After I bought a nice carpet for my home, I got an email about a sale: A LITTLE GRATITUDE THIS THANKSGIVING. PAIRED WITH A LOT OF SAVINGS. GET UP TO 50% OFF SELECT AREA RUGS*. Here's how it worked. Per the salesperson, their carpets are normally marked down from say $100 to $50 (she showed us the tag). This is everyday mark down and what was considered the 50% off sale. Get it. Their every day mark down of 50% is what they considered their "Thanksgetting Sale". What a hoot. To top it off, the salesperson was totally puzzled about why I was grumpy. I convinced my husband to take me over there to look at some rugs and in the end, I know I shouldn't be, but I was really sorry that I bugged him to go with me. He would have preferred to watch football. Though I was really happy with my whole house carpet and installation, this was really bad of them. Just really too bad they had to do this. read more

Alllright. It's about 2 months after I placed my original order for my carpet. After being promised a delivery time under 2 weeks, I STILL do not have the correct carpet installed in my home. What a nightmare! There is a saying in sales: "under promise and over deliver". Well, Chuck Sari from Carpet Exchange does just the opposite. In fact, everyone I have spoken to there practices "over promise and under deliver". Apparently, once they have 60% of the order total in payment, they move as slow as molasses and could care less about customer service. 9 out of every 10 times I am promised something (a prompt call back, a delivery date for the carpet, an install date, an update as to the status), it is never delivered. I have been the project manager for this entire ordeal - always having to call in to get updates, leave messages, hope I get called back. It's ridiculous. I can't understand how this company can stay in business with such poor customer service. BBB will tell you that they've had 23 complaints in the past 36 months, even though they are in satisfactory standing. Would not recommend this store to anyone. Even if Home Depot takes longer for the install - it will be worth it. Carpet Exchange is freaking terrible! read more

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews on Carpet Exchange before going there. Big mistake. I had such a positive experience with Carpet Exchange in 2010 that I called them again this year when I needed the carpets in my house replaced again. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! On April 20, 2015 I called the Denver location and spoke with Hans Pudim who was my sales rep. He said they could install replacement carpets within a few days. I explained I needed it done around May 20th, after my current tenant moved out and interior painting was complete. He assured me that would not be a problem. On May 16, 2015 I emailed Hans and told him the install date needed to be moved to May 22nd or 23rd. I told him to contact my friend who lives in Denver and has a key to my house to schedule the time of the install. Hans ignored my email and on December 18th called me and left a message saying he needed a lock box code to get into the house for install. I called him back immediately and left a message telling him to contact my friend and reminded him it needed to be installed on the 22nd or 23rd. A few days later my friend called and said after leaving several messages with Hans he finally called back and said the install can't happen until May 27th! This means my realtor has to reschedule the stagers, cleaners and photographers. It delays the date I can put my house on the market. I sent Hans an email complaining and this was his response: I understand your concerns. It took a while for me to get in contact with [your friend]. We traded phone messages for a few days before finally getting into contact. During that time, the available spaces filled in. I set this for the earliest available. I did not have a firm date ahead of time. I am sorry for any inconvenience. Hans You "understand my concerns" Hans? Your ineptitude cost me money! read more

Colorado Flooring, a division of Carpet Exchange, sold and installed an engineered wood floor that an independent inspection clearly said was not suited for our Colorado environment. The wood floor planks shrunk, separated and warped. Colorado Flooring disregarded the inspection and said it was a homeowner maintenance issue, telling me to install and use independent humidifiers and keep the blinds closed. I would highly caution visiting Colorado Flooring. read more

The carpet was the least of my problems. The installation was a freaking nightmare. The subs they used gouged my walls and baseboards with utility knives, left *holes* in my drywall, bashed baseboards and doors, and ripped off 100 years of paint off my stair pickets. Keep in mind, this was new remodeled construction so I was QUITE aware of the condition of things before they started. On top of everything else, they seamed the rug across a high-traffic spot, NOT the low-traffic area we agreed to and even the 15 month old baby can find the seam. I spoke to Chuck the manager. He conveniently side-stepped over all the damage issues when I brought them up. He said he'd have the installation manager call me about the seam... and do what? Move all my stuff and reinstall the rug (and redamage the house again!?) yeah right. Heaven forbid I actually get a partial refund for all my trouble. Thanks Carpet Exchange. Gave the contractor wrong pieces on more than one occasion! Ordered wrong tile, and acted like it was not his fault, that he had not read the email fully. We included all the info and even a picture of the tile. The product orders were overseen by Joe U. Let me tell you no one from the bottom to the top that I encounted on any of the orders did an accurate job. We had them into the home more than a few timesl They promised this, and ordered that. Then they misled themselves into believing their excuses would work. I have reported the entire two month process to the BBB. We, have the call audio and paper trail to back it up. Don't use them at all. Not even for materials. We had to delay finishing for weeks because of them. We had to pick up all materials, even though we spent 1000's. They did drop of two times, but only to swap out the tile which they orders wrong, and some transition pieces that they ordered wrong. They also promised to install the transitions, but could not as when their guy Derrek arrived, he had wrong pieces. They have retracted that promise. We have no transitions finished. He took his time to explain to us our options and made suggestions based off of his years of experience. Once we decided to move forward, Shaun's communication was spot on always updating us on next steps and following up to make sure the work was done properly. I see the huge negative reviews, and perhaps that's based on installation, but considering we didn't purchase anything here, I can only review based on in-store experience. Parking is easy - the lot is huge. They were open on Sunday, which is apparently a rarity in the carpet business. The sales man was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped price out carpets on the spot. We had been to two smaller stores prior to going here, so when he gave us the price for the basic saxony carpet and it was half of what the other stores told us, we were really suspect. But, we went to Lowe's after and got the same price for the same type of carpet and figured it was just the smaller stores charging more. The sales guy was nice, a little over-confident and kind of acted like he didn't need the sale, which sometimes is nice but in this instance kind of made me feel like he didn't care if we were there. The selection of carpet is massive, and they have a ton on the showroom floor. The best part was probably the large bowl of Dum-Dums on the counter, and the magenta sample of corian countertops. While the cost was reasonable compared to other quotes, I was less than happy with the service I received. A job that was supposed to take one day, quickly turned into two days spread over two weeks due to not enough carpet being ordered, then when the installers finally came back, they did not have the right carpet to finish the job. By the end, the job came out OK, but the hassle, need to reschedule, lack of communication and lack of accommodation resulted in a lot of frustration. While they may be more affordable, it may be worth paying extra with other vendors. read more

Took a few weeks to get the property measured, the carpet that I wanted that was supposedly available was "delayed" by a few weeks and then when it finally came time to install the installer called me and said that the couldn't do the job because there wasn't enough carpet. Huh? Why didn't someone from the company call me? Didn't your company do the measurement? And by the way we can't move the TV, etc. A total waste of my time. I almost give them two stars instead of one because they gave me a full refund. Of course that didn't get me back the lost month or so that myself and my tenants had wasted with them. Now I've had to start all over with other companies. They didn't offer any compensation for the lost time or energy for their mistakes and delays. read more
