They have had my laptop in for repair for 16 days now and counting. They keep telling me they'll…read morering the next day and then don't. Or telling me they're working on it right now, then when I go in nothing has been done. They didn't know what flux was and tried to persuade me that the orange screen that flux causes was a problem with the gpu. They were a little speechless when I turned flux off for them and found the screen was fine. So, not impressed at all. They keep babbling excuses that make no sense. Don't go here!

I was studying abroad…read moreand submitted a laptop that needed urgent repairs to the keyboard, being assured it would be done in two weeks max. Unfortunately, a week later I was sent back to the US due to the pandemic but was assured by the owner (Harry) that it could take some time but would eventually be sent back to me with the repairs made. After some spotty correspondence back and forth, that lead me to believe I would be receiving the laptop soon, I heard nothing from him. Five months have gone by and my laptop has not been sent, and I haven't received any reply to my numerous emails asking when it would be sent. For all intensive purposes my laptop was stolen. I feel very taken advantage of, them knowing that I was a visiting student who would be unable to come retrieve the laptop in person because of the extenuating circumstances. I can't help but wonder if this wouldn't have happened if I weren't a visiting student/tourist. In essence, their initial service was ok, but in the end they outright took/stole my laptop, and barely responded to my messages before entirely ignoring them. I'd strongly caution anyone not to go here, but especially visiting tourists or students studying abroad.

I suppose its good to know its there though! the last service this shop provides is a phone unlocking service, is this even legal? probably is but it doesnt sound legal to me, i know phones are locked to certain networks but they can also be locked by a network when they have been stolen, surely this undos all the work that is done to deter phone robbers! ah what do i know! anyway if you need a phone unlocked i suppose this is the place to go if your not up for a journey into town.

As far as CeX stores go it's the worst I've been to…read more CeX as a company can be very hit or miss. They often sell devices and blu-rays for far below the competition's rates and you can get a great deal if you look hard enough On the other hand, you often see them scalping high in demand consoles and phones, and their retro games are ridiculously priced. It is what it is. That said, the store in The Square is staffed by people with questionable experience and knowledge. Often times, the store has a line wrapping around half the shop, while several of the staff behind the tills stand around chatting. Other times they don't know what they're talking about. For example I once attempted to trade in a region-free PS3 game which happened to have an ESRB/American age rating on it. They told me they don't accept American games, even though I bought that game from the very same store a couple months prior, and this was not a change of policy, as I successfully traded it in to the Westmoreland Street branch the day after. I've had several experiences like this and would avoid this particular CeX store in the future.
