My family and I visited Carrabba's tonight for the first time and everything was amazing! We ordered the meatball and ricotta appetizer, and shared the filet & shrimp fettuccini. Our waitress, Melissa, was phenomenal! She perfectly explained everything down to there being big portions which was enough to share. The food came out quickly, and Melissa anticipated our every need. Highly recommend!

It was a very cold day out. My daughter and I were just freezing, and we decided to stop into Carrabba's. It was so warm the minute we walked in we sat facing the kitchen. You could see the fires and the cooks, so pleasant. Carrabba's has a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Our server was fantastic. He came back and chatted with us at least two or three times and he was very attentive to our needs. The salad was freshly prepared and delicious. Our meals were excellent. The prices are a bit high here but on this pre-Christmas occasion we decided to splurge. It was well worth it, we both took home enough for another meal. I recommend this resaurant. It's a great date night or family feast if you like Italian. There's just about anything you could want and you can choose more than one meat or selection and create your own plate. It is definitely worth a try. I know I'm going again !

This was my first experience at a Careabba's and I was excited to have some gluten free options on the menu. Service was pretty decent and we arrive shortly after the end of lunch so the restaurant wasn't as busy or crowded. I started eating before I took the pic but hopefully this gives you an idea if you should order. The stuff chicken was good and well seasoned. Maybe a little too salty for me but I did get some extra cheese added to the chicken so if this is the case, skip that cheese please. The soup was just okay. It wasn't enough chicken and I could've have went without it but it came as a appetizer with the main dish. Go and enjoy yourself.

We came here for dinner because it was close to our hotel . Usually don't have Italian since my wife cooks it all the time but we were hungry so we stopped . After a long road trip we started with a pitcher of sangria. Unfortunately they charge 33 bucks for a pitcher of ice . We barely got 3 glasses out of it and had to order another without ice at all. Appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was delicious. The meal was great as I had the Johnny trio . Came with steak , pasta and chicken three ways . Very filling to say the least . My wife had the vegetable ravioli which she enjoyed and took some back for later . Our server was great and very helpful. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and busy.

we come here for date night often. we had a great time. chich was very attentive and really cool lol. the food was amazing.

Got delivery the other day and it was ok. Like simply ok. Ordered the chicken parm and some simple veggie pasta. The salads were basic. Pretty lackluster. They were small and not super exciting. The Caesar was totally better though. The bread was a nice touch. I like that it came with all of the herbs and oils. Heated up well. The chicken parm was pretty good to my friend. We reheated it all and it was decent. The veggie pasta was good originally- great garlic flavor and nice light sauce. A ton of quantity. Not so great the next day. Kinda over cooked. For the price I feel like it was overrated but it was comfort pasta nonetheless.

The catfish is the best I've had in Asheville, so far. I've tried Good Hot Fish, some of the other oyster houses and the po-boys at Sunny Point, but Crab du Jour is my fave, when it comes to catfish. Everyone is cordial and accommodating here. The sweet potatoes could use a little soul food mama help, but otherwise, everything I've had here has been delicious, from the clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Selfishly, I want the crawfish season to last longer, but I don't know the choreography of the rain dances to extend that season, so here we are with frozen IQFs.

When it finally did, the seafood didn't seem particularly fresh, and the catfish was overcooked to the point of being burnt. To the restaurant's credit, they did offer a discount after the issue was brought to their attention, which I appreciated. However, the quality of the meal simply wasn't what I expected. One thing that also stood out was the feedback box near the cashier. It was so overloaded with comment cards that it honestly made me wonder whether the feedback is ever reviewed or acted upon. If customer comments are being collected, there should be a visible effort to address the concerns people are taking the time to write down. I hope this was just an off day, but between the long wait, poor food quality, and the impression that customer feedback may not be taken seriously, I don't see myself returning.

My partner ordered the lobster roll and was pleased with the the quantity of lobster, size and taste of bun, as well as the side salad that it comes with. I had the fish and chips. 3 decent sized pieces of a thinly coated fresh perfectly cooked cod. A good stack of crispy french fries and side of coleslaw. The plates are smallish rectangles. The fish sits stop the fries. Condiments were individual packets. What I wish I knew about eating the fish ahead of time. The thin battered crust broke apart very easily which led to the fish flakes falling out. Couldn't dip in tartar sauce without it disintegrating. It was a struggle to enjoy it the way I normally eat fish and chips. The trying to squirt out tiny amounts of ketchup for the fries was an additional pain. We enjoyed the seafood and will be back with my own bottle of ketchup and will ask for an additional plate to separate the fries from the fish.

I…read morefigured this should be a great place to get fish and chips, so that's what I ordered for lunch here. As with many places in Asheville, you order at the counter, they give you a number and then bring your food to you. It did not take long to get my order, which I know was freshly cooked, as it was very hot when it arrived. There were 3 good-sized pieces of fish. The fish itself (cod I think) was very high quality: thick, but cooked through, not dry at all, beautiful white fish with no dark spots and no excessive fishy smell or taste, and basically so soft it fell apart when I bit through the batter. The batter though was pretty disappointing. I've had better batter at just about any little chippy you find anywhere in the UK, as well as many places here in the US. With one of the pieces, the batter tasted a little off. Not sure whether it was the seasoning, the oil or maybe it was cooked a little too long. I got remoulade as my sauce (other choices were tartar and cocktail sauce). The sauce was very good and was the thing that really gave the fish some flavor. The fries/chips were okay. They were seasoned with Old Bay and were best when dipped in the remoulade sauce. This meal also came with a little container of coleslaw. Thankfully, it was only a little container! I like good coleslaw, but honestly, it is rare to find good coleslaw. Usually it's just okay/passable. But this coleslaw was unfortunately among the worst I've ever had. Basically inedible. I tossed it. I recommend just telling them to "hold the coleslaw" to save yourself the waste of tossing it. So IMO they need to either really up their coleslaw game or just stop serving it. Service here was okay and the ambiance was minimal, but okay (decent outside seating on a nice day). If it wasn't for the high quality fish, I would have given this place just 3 stars, but based on the quality of the fish, I went with 4.

I'm here for my eldest son's birthday and of course our first dinner here, with his wonderful group of friends would of course be at The Admiral Restaurant; most likely the best restaurant in town. I've been to The Admiral several times before, so I'm making this review an updated version of just how good a place can still hold its reputation. For a restaurant so damn good, there is nothing fancy about it. It's set up like a small town diner; and that's what makes it so much comfortable. The service is spot on and their menu has so many wonderful choices at not "break the bank" prices. Us six diners ordered: * Caesar salad - for a southern restaurant making a Caesar this good, it was enchanting! It had Croutons, Parmesan and Anchovy * Ribeye Steak - see above accolade! With tallow confit potatoes, glazed carrots, chimichurri, goat cheese * Cheeseburger with fries - a mile high beauty with Cheddar, Dijonnaise, B&B Pickles, grilled Onion, and fries - was enchanting * Beef Tartare - with chile aioli, mustard seed, chive, ramp, black garlic, egg yolk * Smoked Trout Mantecato had black pepper-parmesan toast, Furikake, yuzu tobik * Airliner Chicken Breast with crispy red rice, tomatoes, romano beans, herb Every dish above was excellent. For a restaurant to be this consistent (after ten years for me) states just how dedicated this restaurant is for impeccability.

I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.

The restaurant's decor is eccentric - lots of taxidermied wildlife, cookbooks, and (from our vantage point in the loft) giant jars of Duke's mayonnaise - and the food is worth going back for.
