This chain features Italian-American cuisine. I have eaten at quite a few around the United States and they all seem to be the same, but different. All this goes back to the kitchen and management I suppose...and their own "touch" on things. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and we were seated right away since they weren't busy. We were greeted by our server shortly after being seated and she was super friendly. I can't seem to remember her name, but she is from Wisconsin originally...so if you get her, you'll be in good hands. That said, I'd like to start off on a positive note...again, our server was friendly and took good care of us the best that she could considering the circumstances. In observing her, she seemed to be pulled in every which direction and doing the job of others...all while attending to customers. This directly affects our experience...good thing I/we were paying attention and could see what she was dealing with. Although she was slow to bring a few things, get a drink refill, check on our food, or whatever...it wasn't totally her fault (for the lack of a better term) and I would give her 4 stars. Shortly after our drinks came, we were served fresh bread with a pesto. Olive oil is on the table to mix with the pesto to your liking. Make sure you have napkins and flatware before you start eating, because it can be messy and it's nice to have something to mix the oil & pesto. We didn't have any and my husband obtained ours from an empty table next to us since no one was in sight to ask. My family and I opted to start off with the Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms...they are delicious! It was by far the best thing we ate. I got the Chicken Trio which consists of Chicken Bryan, Pollo Rosa Maria and Chicken Marsala. All 3 had good flavor, but the Pollo Rosa Maria was my favorite of the three. The other two (Chicken Bryan & Chicken Marsala) had good sauce/toppings that I could eat with a spoon (if I had one), however, the chicken itself seemed somewhat tough, dry and flavorless sadly. I also upgraded to the garlic fries. In short, the fries just weren't good, but the garlic & rosemary topping was. She brought me the aioli sauce to dip the fries and that was good too. Great idea, poor execution and I can't believe they charge more for it! My husband had the Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was dry. Plus, there was a little sauce on top that ran off a little with cheese on top of that. It was hard to eat being dry and then not having enough sauce didn't help. Moreover, the sauce itself was flavorless. The pasta was overcooked and mushy...far from al dente. My son had Eggplant Parmesan and there wasn't that much sauce on his either...same thing, a little sauce on top with cheese on top of that. The eggplant in this case was thin and mushy, yet dry, crusty and nearly unchewable around the outside. The mashed potatoes were just flavorless. Let us not forget to chat about that house salad...it was boring! After we took a few bites our server asked us if we wanted more dressing...hello! YES!...it was dry...barely any dressing! Anyway, the house dressing is good, but it just didn't help the salad...it's just boring! For the record, for a better salad you need to do an up charge to the Italian salad. Things like tomatoes, onions and/or croutons that other places serve on their house salad doesn't happen here...you'll need to pay for the Italian Salad. Lastly, I am happy to report the sweet tea is good. Overall, the price for what you get is expensive and overpriced to me. It wasn't busy and it never got busy while we were there. I'm all or fun, but the employees were hanging out, laughing out loud, cackling and being rather disruptive. I've never seen that many employees in a place doing near nothing, yet our server seemed to be the one (of about two) doing everything and the one other employees needed for this and that...pulling her in different directions. Moreover, all these employees hangin' out and no one could at least grab a broom to sweep the filthy floor? I realize sweeping can get in the way, but the place wasn't busy. Since it wasn't busy...it stuck out like a sore thumb. With the prices, the dirty floor, the staff inadvertently hampering our experience, and the food quality...it's a 2. I have experienced better by far and this place is less than average to me. Note 1: Upon inquiring, they do give a veteran discount (thank you very much for this Carrabba's). 10 years ago we went to this restaurant and we were so disappointed. The rice was hard (under cooked), the meat was tough and sangria was watered down just to name a few. Since we had such a bad experience we never went back. Fast forward to now (10 years later) we gave it a second try but had the same experience... terrible food. The following day we went to Casa Reina Restaurant and it was a night and day experience the food and drinks were outstanding and it was the same price. The food is always great; however, at this location, the service was not so great. We had to wait for a few minutes to get seated, although there were plenty of tables available. That wasn't a big deal, however the server, Natalie, was not having a good day. Although she was smiling and she was nice, she didn't bring us any silverware, no bread, took forever with the drinks from the bar. Someone else brought the water and the bread. She had another table next to us and she was giving an attitude to the server assistant that was collecting empty dishes. I love Carrabas and have eaten at this one many times without serious complaint. However, they were so far off their game last night I had to post this. I did a curbside takeout last night. I ordered two entrees and two drinks. I won't get into the minutia here, but everything except for the salads and one drink was incorrect. No silverware, no napkins, and no butter or oil for the bread. I ordered Fettuccine Carrabba's. Basically fettucine with a chicken breast and some veggies. They brought it out and it was linguine and chicken, and I do not like linguine noodles. I asked them to make it again and the young lady politely agreed. I sat for ten minutes waiting. She then comes out and tells me they are out of fettuccine and they simply remade it with the linguine noodles. I was flabbergasted by the lack of service from the kitchen. read more

Our waiter didn't put our order in and we sat there for an hour. We took our food to go. The manager did take some off our bill.

Ordered take out for dinner tonight and was not impressed at all. Kids spaghetti and meatball meal was good, the fried zucchini was soggy, the Chicken Bryan Pizza was small and most of it was crust. I ordered the same pizza a two weeks ago and it was great. We also ordered two Bambino sundaes and they looked like slop. I know they may melt a little but it was pretty much soup. They also forgot the cherry and whipped cream. Would be nice if the take out food quality was the same as the dine in. read more

Had a really good lunch at Carabba's Italian restaurant in Saint Augustine. We go to the One on San Jose in Jacksonville on a regular basis. However we had business in Saint Augustine and decided to stop at the one there. Jason was our Server and did a fine job. Prompt and very friendly. We belong to their loyalty program and had received a BOGO coupon via Internet that morning. Buy one lunch special and get one free. I ordered the meatballs, Caesar salad, and Lentil and Sausage soup. It was all really good. Everything was spiced just the way you would have expected to be. My wife had the Daily Special Pasta with Chicken in a Vodka Sauce. Also very yummy. Jason kept the warm bread coming and we had a fine time. Very comfortable. Great prices. Stopped in for lunch while on vacation in St Augustine. Had a party of 6 and was seated immediately and a server was out to take drink orders immediately. Bread and appetizers were fantastic, drinks were kept full and the waitstaff was reminiscent of pre-Covid service. Food was as expected and tasted very good. My wife's Salmon smelled/tasted a little wonky but they took it off the bill. Prices are very fair and the food is really good for a chain restaurant. Was served burnt garlic in a side of sautéed spinach. The manger said after taking $1 off the bill, "I guess the garlic was burned a little." The manger's response to uncooked meatballs was also "they're cooked, maybe they aren't hot enough for you." Unacceptable all the way around. read more

I came here while vacationing in St. Augustine. I got the linguine pescatore and my relatives shared the pepperoni pizza. I got a house salad and my relatives got the Italian salad and the minestrone. Both liked them. My salad was alright. For 19.99 my pasta could have had more seafood in it. There was a ton of pasta but not a ton of seafood. I couldn't even make much of a dent in the pasta after eating all the seafood in it. The sauce was a good flavor. I would say I could have gotten a better value for the money as far as seafood in the pasta. There were a lot of mussels but not many scallops. Anyway, for a chain it was good. I don't know if I would go to another one of these restaurants though. I wasn't blown away. read more

Let's just say I'll never order takeout from there again. 2nd was tonight - Draft Beer had crack going down one side. Thought it was a hair first but then realized it was a thin crack going down side. Luckily I caught it before taking a drink. Secondly the steak on the trio I order was way under cook and blood just laying on top and I'm sure around steak but mushroom gray kept me from seeing it. Sent it back and within a few minutes back . Just long enough to press it down on the grill to burn off blood. Still undercooked inside. I have eaten here many times and this establishment never disappoints . Their steaks and pastas are always consistently good. The service included the bar are always top notch . We frequent Carrabba's, and are always very impressed with the food and service. From the managers to the servers to the kitchen staff, everyone is friendly and seems genuinely happy to provide the best dining experience possible. We go to as many of the Wine Dinners as possible, because what a bargain for a five course meal and a great time! Our most recent experience was the Valentine's dinner, "Cultivate Love with Caymus" and we absolutely loved it. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the Rigatoni Campagnolo with warm caprino cheese cannot be beat. Highly recommend this location for a fabulous dining experience. read more

Have eaten there every few months in the intervening years and have never had a bad or mediocre dinner. Until tonight. I'd seen the TV ads about the numerous menu items the chain had recently added and was eager to try one of them. I opted for the cioppino (seafood stew), as I had long made that dish at home and wanted to compare the Carrabba's version to my own. Although the broth was tasty, the seafood component of mussels, fish, clams, shrimp, and bay scallops was skimpy for $15.99. I thought the total amount of seafood so scant that the dish barely qualified as an appetizer. Disappointing. As usual, the service was good, as were the Caesar salad and fresh bread, but the small entrée earns this dinner only two stars. Doubling the seafood would increase my rating to four. read more

We ordered take out with pick up car side. It was for two Ribeyes add Bryan. We also added a bottle of Beringer wine. Why not right, it is hump day. We picked up the order and went straight to the house. When we started emptying the bag we realized the wine was missing. I immediately called Carrabba's and told them the wine was missing. The gentleman Jacob who answered the phone got the manager on the phone for me. He was so kind. Not only did he have my bottle of wine delivered free of charge, but actually brought us two. Class act! It's rare to get good customer service let alone fantastic. The delivery driver was so gracious when he realized we only had a 5.00 bill for a tip since they had went above and beyond.
