Unfortunately the fresh food choice is not a big as in switzerland or germany but well they have farmers as well ;) Back to Albert Heijn; this particular shop is in a strategic great location directly at the maiun road in Vaals next to the german border. As I already said the diversity of the product choice is mind blowing and prices are reasonable. The employees are friendly and forthcoming and will even run into the back to find a product not in the shop anymore or will change a big note to small change, even if the robs her of all her small change .. nice move. I will be back.

Carrefour is a supermarket in Belgium I wish we had this here in the United States along with all…read moretheir products. I have enjoyed shopping at all the Carrefours very much as the food I bought while there is so superior than what we offer here.....their breads, cheese and meats. I also fell in love with their Carrefour brands of cookies and a delicious lemon drink which you add to your water. I would order it here if I could but have not been able to get a response from their stores.
